One of the best paying methods at the moment is affiliate promoting, this means we get a certain amount of money per signup or sale that a visitor of our site does at the promoted site. Gambling, porno, hosting and dating are the businesses that are doing the best at the moment. They pay relative alot for new visitors and signups, the most attrictive for our public is logicly dating. Affiliate promoting pays us way more then other advertising methods because they pay directly for new customers, instead of popup's that only bothers most people and have low, bad measurable result numbers.
In the next weeks we will promote different dating sites, currently it's DatingDirect. They pay us $1.73 for every complete TOTALLY FREE signup. Complete means you have filled in some personal information / preferences after you have received a confirmation e-mail from them. They DO NOT ask you for information such as your home adress. The whole procedure will take up aproximately 4 minutes.
Especially for the Dutch people we have a ebay.nl campaign, this is a great campaign that give us 3,5 to 4,25 per signup. The ebay signup is even less work then for the dating..

I signed up , when you have to list what major city you are near, it listed South Africa for me...I dont think there are any South Africa's in NY...

Meat -- I hope you perhaps have beta-tested them with a couple people to make sure that they accurately count signups...
I used to run a scam porn site, and the first 15 sponsors I had didnt accurately count my signups or visits... I was making like $100 a month when I knew I should be making a lot more, then I switched to one which did accurately count and it jumped to $100 / day :p
I would suggest just getting 5 people you trust to sign up for the service, and make sure that they count 5 people. If there are problems like they only count 2 or so, email them and they are either a scam or there is a little hint (like filling out all personal info).
Also, could you perhaps make a little affiliate page, or at the very bottom of the main page just put a bunch of buttons of your affiliates so people could sign up for them all-at-once?

Yah i have tested those banners with a couple of people and they count good.
That affiliatepage is a good idea and i think i will make it, but finding good affiliate programs that pay per free signup is pretty hard. But i have another dating site ready that pays 2$ per signup(only for north-americans).
But wow that is really a lot money from that sexsite, how did you got that? with dial-in programs or something? Was that recent or 2 years ago? The banner market has changed so much last years:-(

Meat -- http://www.linkshare.com has a lot of different affiliates (hundreds) and many of them pay per signup. I havent checked for a while though, so I dont know if many will pay $2 anymore like your dating ones, but even getting 20 that pay $.50 will give you $10 for every person who decides to sign up for them all (I know I will and a couple others probably will as well).
As for the porn site, it was when the banner market was at its peak I ran it off of my own computer at home (top-of-the-line pII 400 with DSL ) and I was at about 100gb/month transfer so the DSL co. capped me (which I got around), but then the cops came and there was some law or something where I had to have a permit to house porn on my computer for the public to ensure that people under the age of 18 do not have access to my computer or something. Thats when I shut it down :p I had a good 6 months of $3000/month out of it tho, so it was definitely worth it cause costs were $40/month for net connection and about 1 hr/day of labor, most of it using scour for porn (this was before Kazaa and any of the other easy ways of getting porn, Hotline was around as well).

i also know someone who made parody on programs like fameacademy and idols. it was called sexidols and got on the national radio etc with it, but the producers of idols didnt like it and wanted to sue them T_T.
But with that linkshare site, i only found 1 that paid per registration and only 25cents and we did not match their criteria. i will check out commission junction now.

my brother and a friend did it
in a week they got 125 dollars with little effort... put some effort into it, you can make a LOT more...
their membership was cancelled because they were kind of abusing the system. (if they didn't have it cancelled, their simple abuse would have gotten them a lot..). when someone signs up for a 3 dollar trial membership, you get $40... because statistics show that almost all people who sign up for the trial membership go on to get a much more expensive full membership
you get a shit load of money per click. you can put up multiple websites. each page has 100-200 links... I think it is all celebrity pics and stuff.
my brother knows a few people who did it and made a lot of money. you also get prizes and other shit, which I have also seen proof of...
