TargA's NASL Journey, Week 3 Vs MC
TargA, sharing NASL's Division 5 with the likes of Morrow, White-Ra, and Polt; this had to happen eventually. Sure he had two very tough matches against QXC and Liquid's Sheth. The elephant in the room of course is this. If QXC and Sheth were two gremlins standing guard on TargA's progaming path to glory, his match 3 opponent MC, is the metaphorical 5 headed dragon that now stands in his way. And what a scary dragon he is.
Everyone knows MC is a beast. His aggressive personality when competing is consistent with his play style. If you'll excuse the analogy, he's a player who often times simply “goes for the throat”. With a decent run at MLG Spring Arena recent, going 4-3 in groups before getting knocked out by DRG in the ro6, its obvious he's still in shape. However, getting knocked out of the round of 16 in GSL this past Thursday, it's clear he's not the immortal god of war that he was once regarded as. So while MC lies in wait to strike at TargA, his opponent comes knowing every dragon has it's weak spot.
Which brings us to our hero. The man himself of course, TargA. Coming off what can be considered an upset against Sheth in last weeks match, he is without a doubt in high spirits. Im sure the gravity of his adversary in MC has been note of, and preparations have been made. Despite holding a couple GSL championships and a Korean practice regiment, MC has been of late, rather busy. Maybe that enough will be the edge that allows TargA's victory. Since his last series against Sheth, TargA has had ample time to prepare specifically against MC. Whether that means exclusive ZvP games with practice partners, or simply grinding out games on the Korean ladder to get used to the Korean's style of aggression, our Zerg champion has had time to hatch a plan.
Whether it will be enough, obviously remains to be seen. However with the momentum of a win against his last NASL opponent and the determination of a player hungry for success, I wouldn’t count the Norwegian Zerg as Korean Barbeque quite yet.
Best of luck to TargA in NASL this Sunday as he plays his match!
