SC2Improve Website
Our History
SC2Improve is a practice/strategy channel created in December 2011 by me, Wardí, as a place for players on the EU Battle Net Server to find practice partners, discuss strategies, test out build orders and to maximise the social factor of Starcraft 2. Originally the group was for Gold to Diamond players but as time went on the skill level rose and soon the channel was occupied by players of all leagues.
The group grew like wildfire and before long the SC2Improve Weekly was born - a weekly tournament with a small £5 cash prize to promote friendly competition within SC2Improve. SC2Improve also held the SC2Improve Summer League 2012 and SC2Improve Winter League 2012/2013, slowly growing the tournament prize pool and player number. Currently SC2Improve runs the £400 SC2Improve Summer League 2013 which has had over 500 individual participants taking part.
It it's prime time the channel peaked at 100 members everyday, but in the end of WoL the channel started to empty. With the release of the Group System in HotS the SC2Improve Group became a popular place for players to convene and was soon set as a featured Group in the Blizzard Group system - bringing many new members and activity not previously seen.
Our Goal
Our goal is to provide players with something we feel has been hugely missing from Starcraft 2 - social interaction with other players in numerous ways. We encourage players to come together to discuss builds and strategies and to play with each other to improve their skills so that Starcraft isn't just about hitting that find match button. We aim to be a place in Starcraft where people can come and enjoy a joke with some friends, or people they have never spoken to before, as well as a place people can come to find help in progressing their play.
To reach this goal we continue to host events to bring players together as well as making sure to keep our in-game group chat modded as best we can so that players see less advertisements, spam and trolling and more discussion, gameplay and strategy.
How to Get Involved
It's simple! SC2Improve welcomes anybody and everybody providing you are able to apply common sense and have a generally positive attitude! All you have to do is jump straight into our in-game Group and you will find everything you need from links to our events, updates on what is going on as well as a chat full of players looking to improve, meet new people and enjoy Starcraft together.
How to find our in-game group? Either use this quick-link : starcraft://group/2/611 or head into your Starcraft Client, open the Groups Tab (bottom right, next to Friend List) and either type in SC2Improve in the search or scroll through the featured groups list until you find us.
That's all there is to it! From here you can decide how involved you want to get - you can sign-up to our website and follow us on Twitter/Facebook to make sure you don't miss any of our events or you can simply chill in the chat and get involved in the conversation. Most of our events are open to everybody and we encourage low leagued players to give everything a shot - there is much to learn even by losing in the first round against a Masters player - and who knows, maybe they will give you some tips or go over the replay with you.
Get in Touch!
Confused? Scared? Don't know where to begin? If you need any help or have any further questions about who we are or what we do then please do not hesitate to get in contact with us at sc2improve@gmail.com , by PMing Wardí.142 in-game or by leaving a reply right here!
We hope to see you soon in the SC2Improve Group and until then Good Luck and Have Fun!

Our old channel is now back up and running! Head on over to sc2improve to join in the fun!
Hello and welcome to the SC2Improve thread here on TL.
SC2Improve is an EU group which started up from me and a couple of other players who really enjoyed playing a lot of games together and became really good friends through the game. As time went on we went through numerous new players who would stick around and play for a day or two and would then never play with us again. As our skill levels began to differ we decided we really needed some kind of group with a variety of skill levels, not only to help each other improve but also to socialise and to meet more people interested in the game. I started this post one morning after getting bored of having to continuously scroll through the Practice Partner thread searching for new people to play with. The idea was apparently love and the channel on Battle Net began filling up more than I ever could have expected.
These days we hit 80 players every day at peak times, and having seen so much interest in a community/group such as this I have tried my best to form a community for this group, introducing weekly tournaments, a team, practice sessions as well as a website, forums and a Ventrilo server. So that's a bit of of background on us, but what do we actually do, and what is the point in coming to join us?
We are a group which now ranges through all leagues of play. Having started as Gold to Diamond we now have players hitting masters as well as newer players hearing about us and joining us in bronze. By providing forums and a VoIP server I feel we allow the players to communicate and get to know each other while having fun playing the game that we all love, Starcraft 2.
This is the most important aspect to me: meeting new people. Meeting new people and having a group of friends to motivate me encouraged me to ladder, play a lot of games and got me promoted from Gold to Diamond. By having such a great social atmosphere there are also often fun custom games such as Star Strikers played in the group, as well as the possibility to play other games with the people you meet here. Most recently a few guys have started playing League of Legends together and it is just amazing to see this friendship being created in the group.
Improving at the game is obviously another main point of the group and we do numerous things to encourage this such as offering a place on the forums for your replays to be analysed, a tournament each week where your games could be casted and also the chat channel in game is full of players who are always willing to help out and discuss strategies, compositions and ways to improve. Often players well spectate each others customs which again allows for discussion and advice to come out of every game.
By running a weekly tournament, which now has a $5 prize, it gives something that everybody can aim to improve in. By setting a target of making it into the third round next week I feel it motivates players to play more and improve. It is also amazing to see rivalries being formed after tournaments each week and it also allows you to play with people you may not usually get to play with; you never know, maybe the guy who knocks you out in the first round this week will be the perfect practice buddy for you! Frequent King of the Hills also occur, not neccesarily made up by me, but just by the players who decide they want something to do, and PeepModes are an awesome way of getting a group of players together to observe and play.
Recently we introduced a team to SC2Improve, appropiately named "Team SC2Improve". By giving the group a team to get behind it really brings us together as a group and also something that players can strive to be a part of.
The group is also a great place to find things to do when you are a bit too tired to hit up that ladder or to try out your new build. Clan wars of our team are going to be frequently casted, on top of our weekly tournament which is also already casted each week so that you guys can enjoy the tournament even if you get knocked down early. It's also a great way to encourage players to play their best and to get support from the group.
By being around the group you will also find numerous player streams to watch. Sometimes the best way to improve is not to copy the Pro's, but maybe watch someone a league or two above you and see what they do that you don't. Team Practice is also streamed fairly frequently allowing everyone to join in and see what the Team gets up to and be a part of it, while at the same time learning from the discussions and advice given in games.
So that's what we do and why you should come and join us. To finish off I'll just say this is ran by me, Wardí.142 on EU, and only me. This allows me to get very involved with your suggestions and feedback on what you want to see out of the group which will make it a better place for you to practice. I love it when people come back to me and say "Hey, I love what you're doing, but do you think you could do a bit more of this?" - because it gives me something to improve and look into and it will probably end up being beneficial for everybody.
So if you're interested in checking us out please drop by our chat channel on EU: sc2improve
Or drop me a PM on here or ingame Wardí.142 for more info regarding the website/forums etc
Hope to see many new faces joining us soon and having some fun!
Glhf!

Didn't know if this is the right place for this thread, but having seen the "Diamond+; come practice" thread I assume it is alright to put this here.
New Edit: We currently hit over 80 members in the channel every day at peak times; run a weekly tournament and also frequent practice focused custom games where players are encouraged to join the Mumble Server for discussion and analysis of games. We now have a range of players from Bronze through to Masters/High Diamond, so please if this sounds like something that you're interested in come by and say hello!
OP:
So for the last few weeks me and a couple of other starcraft friends, who met through the practice partner thread in these forums, started expanding our practice partner group so we had a variety of players to practice with etc. We now have a website and a forums of our own that we are trying to make use of to best thrive as a group aswell as a mumble server that can be used when practicing to discuss strategies and games, as well as just for general use when playing fun customs or chatting while laddering. We also have a chat channel, sc2improve, in starcraft.
There are a range of skill levels from gold through to now low diamond (we recently expanded up to low diamond due to some of the higher plats meeting diamond on ladder) however if you're above this and are just looking for some guys to play some games with anyways you are also welcome to join. We woud like to include anybody who is well mannered, up for a laugh and also up for improving at starcraft.
So if you're interested give me a shout ingame Wardí 142, note there is an accent on the i!! I can give you the website details and so on from there, or even just jump into our starcraft chat channel (sc2improve). Really hoping that I can boost our little practice group/mini community with this thread .
