Get ready! We've arranged an awesome showmatch for the community between the two German terrans, a casual get-together to the death, your very own team-liquid's TLO versus the impenetrable "Panzer General" GoOdy.
What will the format be? the classic best of five, maybe a best of seven. Probably depends on TLO's breath
When will it happen, you ask? wednesday 14.09.2011, @ right at 6 o'clock pm CET, as we know that Germans are never late.
What do they fight for? for the dazzling amount of 145 Euros, just enough to keep them motivated.
The showmatch has been organized by AiCola, and the matches will be casted by Mort, with AiCola as his co-caster. The prize money has been sponsored by ten German fans, and we appreciate their efforts to make this event possible and sharable with everyone!

I like how Goody manages to sleep while standing in that picture. Also, Special Endrey mentioned a Best of 11 with Goody as one of his next projects, maybe you'll want to up the ante?
On a side note - really cool. Both players have shown some amazing games in the past, TLO with his usual creative play and overall solid performances, and Goody with his usually spectacular game sense and superb decision making. Looking forward to this!

But of course we don't want to take any fun away from the English speaking community, so if you have any suggestions or wishes regarding an English stream then let me know here. We would prefer to have a community close "unknown" caster and maybe help him out a little, many suggested drool. I have no idea though if he wants to cast it.

I love his style, against many opinions he´s very harass heavy in early game and just start turteling when BFH and Banshe harass is neglected.
His macro might still be able to be better but his positioning and decision making is top imo. I´ll say he´s the favourite for this showmatch, he won a spot in WCG final unlike TLO but TLO just got knocked out the round before GoOdy, so still a close call.
Looking forward to it none the less, I like both players ofc.

I think another good possibility is Special Endrey, after he stopped casting for Competo TV after the hickups he´s isn´t that ofter on stream anymore but organizes some amazing showmatch series. Ofc it´s up to you and the if the casters want to, but perhaps he´s an option.

I didn´t want to stir up shit but it´s imo quite obvious that they don´t like each other. GoOdy spend one of his 10 posts in almost 8 years as TL member to say this

Hope I´m not right as I´m a fan of both players, but GoOdy seemed to be really insulted/hurt with the commentary and perhaps that´s more than a grundgematch for both. Nobody will start to say "he´s top terran in EU" but nobody should say he´s not good either. Sometimes I just miss the respect between top players. It takes the fun out of matches for me, perhaps I´m too old (oh god, I´m really old...) to find BM funny.
Another thing: I was never a fan of "winner takes it all" especially for showmatches. Did you think about giving money for each map won? Both players invest their time and should be "paid" for it imo. Since it´s 145€ perhaps something like 25€ for each map and the winner gets the rest? In a 3-2 result the looser will not have played for nothing but will get 50€ while winner still gets 95€ for a very close series.

Yeah I will probably give a little bit to the loser aswell, the thing is that theoretically the players could always just split the money however they wish, but TLO and Goody probably won't do this I was thinking about 100 or more for the winner and the rest of the collected money for the loser, gonna double check with the players again though. I want it to be quite a bit more for the winner though, so that it rly pays off to work hard and prepare, this way we will get the best games.
This is still very lucrative if you compare it to the weekly cups
I have my money on The Panzer General aswell, not only because I believe he is the better player, but also because he seems to be a much nicer guy (no offense to TLO)
I haven't seen the TLO/chill cast, but I saw the cloud cast' at homestory cup and I think it was very obvious that he was trolling/joking and as goody even wrote in his post he is able to laugh about it aswell, I personally laughed my ass off too :D

lol, the Event is organized and sponsored by some guys from the German community I threw in the idea on a forum and offered to give 10 Euroes from my own money. The guys you can see on the banner (and at the moment 1 more guy, who isn't included yet) quickly joined in to the idea and I offered to organize the match and collect the money.
I guess you could call me the admin and organisator of the event, but all I am doing is following the wishes of the sponsors and the community. That is why we picked Mort as our caster, and that is why im asking for suggestions for an English stream.
The picture in the spoiler shows Goody, me and TLO at the gamescom in cologne, were they both participated in the WCG National Finals.
TLO got knocked out by my teammate Ai.Honor, who then lost in the deciding match against goody.
