version 1.2 EU

Crater RE is old map of mine (Link) which I decided to upgrade. By dropping a nuke ontop of it, tearring it up good for future Terran expansions! Jokes aside, Crater RE is 2-player map with close nearby nats and long distance to the enemy base. Gold expansion is highly open for harrass oppurtunities.

Map details:
Crater RE is a 144x138 playable map.
2 watch towers cover the open middle part of the map, but not enough to cover the side routes.
Natural entrances are chokey, but can be opened up by destroying the nearby rocks.
Map contains 12 naturals (incl. main), two of which are gold expansions.
Lava, lots of lava.

I see what you mean regarding that, as of such I've been playing around with the idea of a new expansion located close to the nat as shown below.

Close by, even closer by destroying the rocks. Nearby LoS blockers work somewhat as defense.
What do you (or you people) think of this? Or should I try something very different?

I like the way this map looks. It's not easy to make lava maps look good, they actually usually look horrible to me. What sells me though is the subtle base differences, one with rock and one with metal. It conjures images of an attempt to colonize, perhaps for the resources, which was interrupted by others who wanted this place for themselves.

Thank you I followed the theme from one of the campaign maps into my own, trying to stay as close to it as possible. The lava makes a nice hellish glow ingame, making the place look very, very hot.

edit: updated to 1.2, fixed some very minor stuff.

The map design looks really well thought out. The third looks like a lil stepping stone you have to think of how to get it (well not as zerg, which is quiet good). But if you get it its not far away from a 4 base game, that promises tons of action.

If you ask me it looks like a really improved trimmed on macro metalopolis somehow hehe.
