Hey everyone!
I figured a thread like this would have been started by now, but after doing a quick search it seems like nothing has come up. I started off as a silver player but have slowly worked my way up towards diamond for this season. As many of you may know, the trek from silver to diamond is simply becoming fluent with different build orders and gaining a decent level of mechanics. However, as I am playing more people over time, I realize that build orders can only take you so far.
What I mean by this is that memorizing when to build what via worker counts can only take your understanding of the game to a certain point. I am making this thread to explore another facet of understanding build orders. One that allows you to piece yourself back together after something unexpected happens during the game.
This thread is meant to simply be one sentence build timings that you guys find useful for each particular race. They are there to serve as nice tidbits when you are playing to help optimize small build timings throughout the game. As people continue to post I will help organize the points as I see fit. Thanks!
PROTOSS BUILD TIMES
+ Show Spoiler + - Building your Twilight Council when your Ground/Armor 1 upgrade is 2/3 complete will allow you to start Ground/Armor 2 right when your Level 1 upgrades finish.
- Warping in High Templar when Storm is 1/2 way complete (with continuous chrono) will allow them to have enough energy for Storm when the upgrade finishes.
- A Robotics Facility and Robotic Support Bay have the same build time. Therefore, if you want to go double Robo Collosi, you should throw your second Robotics and the Support Bay down at the same time (Helpful tip: Your first Robo can pump out Obs while these two complete)
- The time it takes to complete a Dark Shrine is roughly the same amount of time it takes to build a Robotics Facility + Warp Prism (chrono'ed).
- If you start +1 attack research when Twilight Council is building around 15/50, charge will finish at the same time as +1 attack does, assuming you start charge upgrade as soon as TC finishes, and spend 2 chronoboosts more on it, than on attack upgrade.
ZERG BUILD TIMES
+ Show Spoiler + - Start an Evolution chamber at 22 gas mined (early game) to be able to start +1 attack right when it finishes.
- If you start to mine gas about 5 seconds (+- 1 second) before you start your spawning pool you will have almost exactly 100 gas when the spawning pool finishes (14gas14pool abuses this fact to its maximum)
- If you throw two drones onto an extractor right before you throw down your spawning pool, you should have 100 gas when the pool completes. (Useful for early speedling aggression.)
- If you start a roach warren and putting 3 guys back into gas at same time, you have exactly 100 gas when the roach warren completes. Example: you want 8 roaches for timing attack, put back into gas at 100 for exactly 200 gas when warren completes.
- You can also make exactly 2 chrono'd observers in the time it takes for robotics support bay to build.
- Start 2nd queen when hatchery is 50% to have queen finish the same time the new hatchery does (walk first one down to natural after inject)
- Gas, drone, pool usually makes you have exactly 100 gas when pool finishes, Ex 13 gas 13 pool, 14 gas 14 pool, 15 gas 15 pool
- If you are doing a 14 hatch, send your 14th drone from the egg to your natural and it will get there at exactly 300 minerals on most map.
- If you do an overlord when your pool is about 50% you will have 2 larva when pool finishes and the overlord will finish shortly before the pool. Ex 15 overlord after a 14 gas 14 pool
TERRAN BUILD TIMES
+ Show Spoiler +
- If you go CC first, and start gas right afterward, then start engineering bay when the CC is about 3/4 done, you'll have about enough to get a PF once you float the CC wherever you're putting it. You can even skip the second supply depot since the second CC finishes about in time.
- 11 gas 12 racks allows you to start a fact the second the racks is finished so long as you build your orbital on 19 instead of 15
- If you start your factory at the same time as your second gas, you will have enough gas for 2 medivacs when the port lands on the reactor. (providing you don't spend gas otherwise).

You can always start 2/2 when twilight council finishes, I think you mean when 1/1 finishes :p

Only useful timing that i know so far:

I think this thread will grow to be very helpful! OP, just constantly update this thread with the replies of others and it will become a great source of information.

Sorry to be a noob, but what's PF?

If you start your hive when your 2/2 is half way done, you'll be able to get 3/3 as the hive finishes.

planetary fortress... this doesnt come to play in the real game tho

Ah, got it. I was confused because I couldn't think of anything that would come into play after an ebay, but forgot planetaries use in team games. Thanks!

Oo, here's one that's actually useful. When you have one engineering bay that's working on 1-1 upgrades, start your armory when the second upgrade is ~halfway done, and start your second engineering bay when your armory is ~halfway done. All three will finish about the same time, and you can start your 2-2 right away.

few typo's from stuff i said! :D
"If you start a roach warren and putting 3 guys back into gas at same time, you have exactly 100 gas when the roach warren completes. Example: you want 8 roaches for timing attack, put back into gas at 100 for exactly 200 gas when warren completes."
Change things in bold please bold pls :D

Also, you put the observer thing under zerg timings
|
definitely some inaccurate information under the zerg timings (ie. the second point). i wouldn't trust any of this information except for obvious points and timings that have been tested already.
