Registered Players:
http://sc2ranks.com/c/7274/chicagogamepazzoapr10-2011/

RESULTS:
http://challonge.com/pazzoapril10

RULES:
If more computers than players, group-style elimination. If more players than computers, Double elimination brackets made from www.challonge.com. I will decide the day before OR on the same day if we're going to use groups or double elimination (depending on how many people register)

All games - Bo3, except semifinals(Bo5) - including the loser's bracket, and finals(Bo7).

WE ENDED UP PLAYING B03 ROUND ROBIN since only 6 players showed up

(original plan):
+ Show Spoiler +
I use the ladder raking so that we don't get the best 4 players in the same group. I write each player name on a small piece of paper and put it in a bowl. We will take turnsto draw 4 papers (4 players) and put them into their own group. The TWO people with the highest amount of points advance further till the other groups are finished. After the first round of games is done, and every single player has played vs every other player in his group in a BO3. Double elimination after the group phase is over.

Some groups will have 3 people while others 4, and this will amount for more games played (it will also take longer, but we have the full day).

FIRST MAP: Each player takes turns to downvote 1 map each until there's one map left.
NEXT MAPS: Loser picks next map from the map pool as long as it hasn't been played so far.[/spoiler]

LOCATION:
+ Show Spoiler +
Game Pazzo: http://www.gamepazzo.com/
Click for Google Maps
2011 63rd St.
Downers Grove, IL 60516
(630) 541-8719
(There is a Belmont Metra station (BNSF) located 1.5 miles North, on Belmont and Warren/Burlington Ave.)

Parking is free at Game Pazzo. No outside food or drink. If you're under 18, a parent needs to sign a consent form.Game Pazzo has food inside and a bar. Drinking, over 21.

FACILITIES:
+ Show Spoiler +
1 big area with console games and10 high-end PCs (5 and 5 along the walls of the same corner). YES, THERE ARE ONLY 10 PCs.

This is why it is recommended (but not required) to bring your own PC/laptop. I will bring my PC for others to play on. If we have more players than available computers and you are using one of Game Pazzo's PCs, you may have to WAIT for your next game. You WILL be asked to relinquish your seat for others to play.

Here, see for yourself a review of the place: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/video?id=7999547

OTHER RULES
+ Show Spoiler +
Pause the game if there is a malfunction. The opponent is not to resume unless both players agreed through chat.
You can't play in this tournament from another location. You have to be at Game Pazzo in Downers Grove, IL.
You can't play in other online tournaments if you have games left to play.
You can't play the music out loud from your PC. Either use headphones or no headphones at all.
In case of a disconnect or any other unexpected event, I'll decide if the game needs to be replayed or give the win to another player if he had a decisive advantage.

REGISTRATION:
+ Show Spoiler +
To register for the tournament, send me (George) the following information by email, to gg_of_the_jungle (add at yahoo dot com)

1) Email address (I'll email you the link to the bracket. I won't disclose your email and will BCC so no one else sees it.)
2) Battle.net nickname and character code. (mine is Jungleboy.966, for example).
3) Battle.net or sc2ranks.com direct link to profile - I will create brackets in order of the Blizzard ladder. (example: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/354171/1/Jungleboy/
)
4) Race you will play at the tournament (Z/P/T/R) You can't change your race in the middle of the tourney.
5) Are you bringing your computer? (If yes, make sure to be there before 12 to have enough time to set up). I need to know this to ask how many tables to set up.
*) If you're under 18, you need this form signed by a parent/legal guardian; bring it to the facility.
http://www.gamepazzo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Parental-contsent-form.pdf

PAY-IN and PRIZES:
+ Show Spoiler +
$15 (cash/credit/debit) to a Game Pazzo staff. SPECIFY "FOR SC2 TOURNAMENT"! Keep the receipt.

The $15 is an all-day pass to use the PCs. Usage of videogame console game is $1 more.

Prizes:
1st place: 25% of pot
2nd place: 15% of pot
3rd place: 10% of pot
4th place: 5 hr game card/in-store use (if there are 16 players or more)

TIME:
+ Show Spoiler +
The tournament starts SUNDAY APRIL 10, 1 PM, OR after I make the brackets.

At 1 PM, if you are not in the facility, you won't participate in the tournament (unless you notified me), even if you sent me email to register. It is strongly suggested to be there at 12 or your earliest convenience, so that you get familiar with the facilities, install your drivers, etc.

Exception - if you are running late, we will wait for you a reasonable amount of time (15-20 minutes). If you're late, Call me (773-679-8015) or Game Pazzo ((630) 541-8719) AND specify your name and SC2 nickname so we can wait for you.

TIMELINE RECAP:
*.) Register before SUNDAY APRIL 10 12:01 PM by email to gg_of_the_jungle yahoo.
*.) Arrive at the facility between 11 AM and 1 PM. Pay the $15 (TELL THEM IT'S FOR THE SC2 TOURNAMENT). Install drivers, set up, get used to the place, get something to eat, play 1-2 games if it's not too close to 1 PM etc.
*.) I finalize the sc2ranks roster AT THAT VERY MOMENT, no matter if your ladder ranking changes before you play.
*.) 1 PM - If everyone who registered is there, I make the brackets on challonge.com.
If someone is not there at 1 PM but told me they're late, I'll wait a couple of minutes.
*.) Once I make the brackets, I will notify Game Pazzo staff to stop all registration.
*.) Brackets emailed to everyone.
*.) Don't start playing until I tell you so. If there aren't enough computers, lower brackets go first.

WHAT TO BRING (in case you will use Game Pazzo PCs):
+ Show Spoiler +
1) Mouse, keyboard, mousepad, & headphones - they have no mousepad! They have high-end headphones, but you SHOULD still bring yours.
2) Drivers (or a link to your drivers to download) to your mouse/keyboard, as some don't get recognized by Windows.

WHAT TO BRING (in case you will use your PC/laptop):
+ Show Spoiler +
PC, monitor, Power cords, mouse, keyboard, mousepad, power strip, headphones, network cable (preferrably at least 10/20 ft long).
Warning: Game Pazzo assumes no responsibility if your equipment is lost or stolen. You are liable for your own equipment. Have someone else watch it if you go to the bathroom or any other reason.

SPECTATING
You can spectate for free, but don't comment LOUDLY on the game. You will be asked to move away from the players if you get too loud while commenting on the game.

REPORTING RESULTS
+ Show Spoiler +
BOTH players notify me of the result directly or by email subject: IMMVP vs OGSMC 2-1

2) Save the replays with players name and order of games played: ImMVP-OgsMC1,ImMVPvsOgsMC2 etc

At the end of the games send me your replays in a zip file.

IF YOU'RE ELIMINATED
+ Show Spoiler +
You can spectate, play anything else on PCs - already covered in the $15 (but each console game is +1$), go home, go at the bar, but you may be asked to relinquish your Game Pazzo PC for pending games. This is why BYOPC is highly recommended! There is no guarantee you will have a PC to play on after your games are over.

Only when computers are not needed by active players you can use them yourself, but be civil - don't clinch to one computer all day; let others use them.

IF YOU WON your next game
You may be asked to relinquish your PC; wait for PCs to become available. Take a break, but don't go too far. If you leave the facility and I can't find you for 15 minutes, your next game will be lost. You can't play in other tournaments if you still have games to play.

On the other hand, if you're just spectating, it's fine, you can just show up.
