(RTTNews) - As marijuana laws loosen across the country, one California soda maker is looking to cash in. Canna Cola is set to hit the market in Colorado medical marijuana dispensaries next month, and developer Clay Butler says it will offer a new option to those who use cannabis.
Butler, based in Soquel, California, recently spoke with the Santa Cruz Sentinel and said that though he's never used marijuana, his product is legal and ethical. Butler says he is a "firm believer that adults have an inalienable right to think, eat, smoke, drink, ingest, decorate, dress any way they choose."
Butler added that his new soda line will include the "flagship cola drink Canna Cola, the Dr Pepper-like Doc Weed, the lemon-lime Sour Diesel, the grape-flavored Grape Ape and the orange-flavored Orange Kush."
Each twelve-ounce bottle will sell for around $10 and will include 35 to 65 milligrams of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the main active ingredient in pot. Butler is hoping to distribute the drink in California as well, saying that his product offers a fresh take on a sleepy product.
"You look at all the marijuana products out there, and they are so mom-and-pop, hippie-dippy and rinky-dink," he said.

I always considred weed as a ''terrible'' thing, but maybe these type of products show us how we can manipulate certain drugs to make them unusual and atracttive stuff. Perhaps in some years I'll try one. Anyone buying this?

When I lived in CO, I had my medical card. The dispensary had this lemonade infused with weed. Very tasty and it got you ripppped.

well your perception of weed being a "terrible" thing is wrong to begin with; weed is one of the safest narcotic out there. weed, when ingested, will increase its potency significantly compared to simply smoking it. that said, these soft drinks should not have "too much" weed in them

I would buy one just to try it... but if you take away the smoking part, it would feel wrong after a while.

also if you drink it the high is much longer + more of the THC gets into your body instead of leaving it again in the form of smoke

The perception that you can overdose on weed is basically false.. the amount of weed you have to ingest is so great that in reality you'd never probably be able to even do it. As well I don't see why everyone see's weed as being so bad, many people who drink even see weed as being "evil" or bad, where as drinking or smoking cigars is just as bad for you as smoking pot. And at least if you have a trusted grower you know there isnt any addictive chemicals in the weed, unlike cigarettes.

i tried it once, it tastes so nasty. or the one that I got wasn't really carbonated, it was "carbonated" with some nasty shizz. wasn't the same brand tho.
for you to get this in CA you need to have a prescription for medicinal use of mj. which basically means dish out 75 bucks and 5 minutes of your time at a doc's office and walk out with a smile
this would be under proposition 215.

Yes well, they also let slip alcoholic beverages and cigarettes, both of which are just as bad for you as smoking pot.. and the basis that the government can do anything to stop those from indulging in marijuana is a joke, the amount of people that use marijuana is absurdly "high", no pun intended.

Well if you take a look at the THC amounts 35-60 mg is definitely more than I expected. Your average weed has around 5% THC so 1g weed got 50mg THC. Of course with the other cannabinoids missing I don't know how strong this will be.

no... 5% is too low... the dispensary i go to measures potency and they range from 11~17%
