For the 9th SGL Player Interview, we sat down with Empire.Kas and talked to him a little about his upcoming events and the up and coming Empire Gaming team! We have also acquired a few of his replays for you guys to see the talent of this terran! You can find the replays attached to the original post here. Enjoy the interview!

SGL:
Hello Kas! Welcome to the 9th SGL Player Interview! Tell us a little about yourself and your history in gaming.

Kas:
Hello, I am Mihaylo 'Kas' Hayda, and I am in Team Empire. My first game that I played was Warcraft 3 but I started sc2 when wc3 started dying :/ It started dying when I started making good results and all the tournaments went away so I was a little sad about it but now I'm happy now with starting sc2 and I will try to make myself one of the best players in Europe.

SGL:
Just a few days ago you played in the group stage of the Kaspersky New Years Invitational and lost to Sjow and being out of the tournament. How do you feel about your performance in the event?

Kas:
It's a nice event but I wasn't having a good day and I played very badly but Sjow is still a good player and he deserves to move on to the next stage.

SGL:
You have also been invited to participate in the Assembly Winter with some of the best players in the world participating? How do you think you're going to compete with these players?

Kas:
I will definitely try my best, it will be a great tournament with so many good players but first I need to think about my Visa and then I will start thinking about the tournament

SGL:
What do you think about the current balances of the game? Everyone always has something to say about this question

Kas:
I think the game is very young and it's impossible to make something ideal for everyone, there will be another patch and then it will add units so I think we should just be happy with what we have now. We need gosu players to talk about the balance who know a lot of details of the game. I'm not so good at the moment to think about it.

SGL:
Let's talk a little bit about your team, Empire Gaming. How are things going with you guys right now?

Kas:
Empire is a big multi-gaming organization we started sc2 only 2 months ago and we're already one of the best in Russia. It's nice that we want to get progressively better and better so I'm happy that I am in such a nice team with a great atmosphere. Hopefully soon we will be one of the most famous teams in Europe and maybe more ^^

SGL:
How do you think the skill level of Empire compares to the other top teams in the world right now?

Kas:
I dont think there's a huge different about Europe/US/Korea. Every country has its style of playing and they all have top players. Maybe soon we will see some world tournaments and they will invite players from each country and we will see a good show ^^

SGL:
If you guys win your match this week in the SGL Qualifiers you will qualify for the regular season competing with teams such as Fnatic, ROOT and EG. Do you think Empire has what it takes to win the season?

Kas:
I think we will fight and show our best. I respect Fnatic, ROOT, EG and all the teams have very talened players so I hope we will make a lot of fun for the viewers

SGL:
Thank you very much for talking with me for a bit. I would like to thank our sponsors, BigFoot Networks, ZOWIEGEAR, and ItsGosu.com. Do you have any shoutouts or add-ons to give before we conclude?

Kas:
Thanks to all of my fans and my team, Empire, for their support. hf gl !

Good interview indeed.
Kas was a beast in wc3. Too bad he had to quit, because there was no tournaments. :/

Great interview, Kas is an amazing and rather humble player. Empire are a great team as well, if they all keep progressing together they'll be really awesome (though a lot of terrans =p)
