I was looking through the GSL stuff and saw and interview with IdrA that had some interesting info that is not quite getting as much attention as I would expect. The important quotes are highlighted like this.
+ Show Spoiler [Idra] +IdrA: "I'm honored to have a spot in the GSL"![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/l10f/translations/idragslqual1.jpg) - How do you feel about making it through with all wins? ▲ I'm happy I made it to the tournament with defeating everyone. - You've been doing well in StarCraft II tournaments ▲ I got 2nd in IEM in Germany, and before that I won the King of Kings End of Beta Tournament. - You're still CJ player as far as I know, did you have any problems entering the league? ▲ I was in CJ, but I left already. My contract ends the 31st of this month, and since it's almost over, I joined GSL.- Have you decided a new team to join? ▲ I want to join a team not associated with KeSPA. I don't have a specific team yet.- You were Terran in SC1, why did you switch to Zerg? ▲ I thought about changing race in SC1 since Terran didn't fit me, and I felt that Zerg fit my style better than Protoss. That's why I chose Zerg. - What do you think is attractive about the Zerg race? ▲ I like playing games having good economy and large armies, and I think Zerg fits that description the best. - What do you think about the balance? ▲ It's difficult to defend early rushes as Zerg, but I think the balance is getting better after every patch. - Where are you living in Korea? ▲ I'm still in CJ house, but I'm leaving soon. I think I'll stay with a friend until I find a team.- Your goals and determination for this GSL ▲ I hope the Korean fans enjoy my games. I'm honored to have a spot in the GSL, and I think it's going to be fun, so look forward to it.

So will he be leaving Korea, or just signing with a new team like oGs that is not directly owned by KESPA?
This is pretty big news to me, what does everyone think of this move? I personally would love to see him come back stateside but I have a feeling he was meant for Korea :D!
|
It'd be pretty natural for him to join TL-oGs imo. They have the skill, the variety of playstyles and fellow english speakers. It would do good to his mental health to hang around people more similar to himself when it comes to lifestyle.
|
This is big news :O i guess he will still be staying in korea, perhaps join ogs or Prime? Idra fighting!
|
He's probably likely to go wherever the biggest tournaments are. At the moment, that's still Korea. (Right? )
|
Idra with a TLAF'Liquid tag would be so awesome!
|
Idra get the fuck away form kespa. I hope he gets to keep his suave Cj jacket :/.
Yes i know i used sauve wrong
|
Haha the interview is translated into korean, then translated back into english?
|
hes just waiting for a proteam that has nothing to do with kespa
|
He's just mad at Kespa for penalizing for verbal abuse, lol.
But I'm pretty curious what team he will be joining next.
|
He will never join Liquid as long as good manners is a criteria. But his skill is certainly high enough so that he can basically choose any team he want.
|
Why would he leave Korea now when there is GSL?
Good move because now he won't be controlled any way by Kespa/CJ (dunno if he ever was). And if he will get in a team like oGs or Prime, that training will be much more effective than just laddering games alone basically. If he joins oGs or Prime, i bet he'll get more 'famous' because of it. GOM's star2gether is pretty much everytime featuring one of the players from those clans, so i guess IdrA would be there more often too.

i doubt that, as he is a member of TL for some 6-7 years now.

They're living together temporarily and practicing together but they're not one team.
Idra doesn't seem to want to leave Korea, if he signs with a foreigner team they won't force him to leave korea, and if he joins a korean non-kespa team then obviously he'll stay in korea. I'm fairly confident he won't be leaving there.

Yeah and had his account suspended/locked a couple times, if I remember correctly..

I think this is good for idra.. if he joined a team like Prime or oGs I think he would improve more as a player because there would be more good sc2 players to train with, whereas CJ is still mainly BW.
|
so does he still play brood war or just sc2 now i imagine every moment playing sc2 is counted as wasted time since he should be practicing bw during that time
|
smart decision by IdrA, was kinda pointless to stay in CJ as long as they are still in BW and he was the only one
+ as people said if he performs well he will get good offers from teams
thinking ahead is a useful skil toi have

I thought they said they merged up in that article about it.
I would love to see him get on a team like .Root, but he's got all the options open to him
