Howdy folks,
Cecil here (livestream guy, old wc3 commentator). I'd like to invite you guys out to the weekly "Starcraft II Nights" that I host at Next Level LAN in Orlando, FL. For those who have listened to my livestreams I have mentioned this for a while and I suppose it would be right for me to make a thread on it for you guys. Every Friday (or Saturday depending on the week) Next Level LAN out near Full Sail University hosts Starcraft II nights. During this time we organize some team games, solo games, or anything else that we normally do at LAN parties. I will update this thread weekly with information about the events for the week that we will go through. I'll also be doing my livestreams live at the center (with webcam!) for those outside of FL to enjoy as well. Here is the info you'll need:

cecil what happened to gigabits?

They went out of business. NLL is their "replacement"

This week's SC2 Night will be on Friday. 8/27/10.
Last week was mostly a casual gaming night. A lot of the sc2'ers were playing other games that night and a few were just getting in town. Gaming night starts at 5pm, I'll talk to the owner and arrange a special deal for TL members this week -I hope-.
|
Is this BYOC, and what time does it usually end? I live over in Tampa and theres a saddening lack of LAN centers and LAN events in general over here.
|
It is not a BYOC. I have been to NLL multiple times and they are a great lan center. I highly recommend it to anyone in the community that wants to meet other starcraft gamers.
|
Oh sweet, I didn't even know about this.
This month there is a buy 3 get 1 free hourly package. That costs $12.
Is that only for August? I don't get my fin aid until next week, So wondering if I should hit up the center this week and just be broke over the weekend, or if I could wait until Sept.
Also, do they allow us to bring our own mice + keyboard?
|
You can bring your own stuff if you want if thats what you're used to. That deal might be going on this month still. Give the center a call.
UPDATE: They are conducting a meeting tonight and they are going to discuss a potential discount for SCII night'ers who go to TeamLiquid. I'll keep you posted.

This is still happening today right? I went to NLLs website earlier and didn't see anything about SC2...
|
The forums are a little wonky right now. We had about 8 folks there for SCII night (4 of them would switch games up here and there).
This week's SCII night will be at LANKnights for their LAN event. It's BYOC.
|
I'll definitely come by and check this out next time there is one. I have been looking for some locals who play for a couple weeks now.
|
cccalf, be sure to go to LANKnights this week then! This Friday (9/3) we'll be out at UCF. it's a BYOC event. This will be the SCII night for this week. Lanknights.net is the site.

For the SC2 Nights at NLL, I went last Friday, there were ~5 or 6 of us there, we pretty much sat next to each other and played some games, it was pretty fun, and I'm sure cecil will be there like every Friday, and hes a nice guy thats always fun to hang out with, and I'll be there most Fridays that I don't have something else planned. Theres also a few people who live like 5 minutes away that stop by.

We're going to be at NLL tonight for an informal gathering. The real SCII event this week/month is LANKnights TOMORROW!
