Howdy folks,
Cecil here (livestream guy, old wc3 commentator). I'd like to invite you guys out to the weekly "Starcraft II Nights" that I host at Next Level LAN in Orlando, FL. For those who have listened to my livestreams I have mentioned this for a while and I suppose it would be right for me to make a thread on it for you guys. Every Friday (or Saturday depending on the week) Next Level LAN out near Full Sail University hosts Starcraft II nights. During this time we organize some team games, solo games, or anything else that we normally do at LAN parties. I will update this thread weekly with information about the events for the week that we will go through. I'll also be doing my livestreams live at the center (with webcam!) for those outside of FL to enjoy as well. Here is the info you'll need:

This week's SC2 Night will be on Friday. 8/27/10.
Last week was mostly a casual gaming night. A lot of the sc2'ers were playing other games that night and a few were just getting in town. Gaming night starts at 5pm, I'll talk to the owner and arrange a special deal for TL members this week -I hope-.

Is this BYOC, and what time does it usually end? I live over in Tampa and theres a saddening lack of LAN centers and LAN events in general over here.

It is not a BYOC. I have been to NLL multiple times and they are a great lan center. I highly recommend it to anyone in the community that wants to meet other starcraft gamers.

You can bring your own stuff if you want if thats what you're used to. That deal might be going on this month still. Give the center a call.
UPDATE: They are conducting a meeting tonight and they are going to discuss a potential discount for SCII night'ers who go to TeamLiquid. I'll keep you posted.

The forums are a little wonky right now. We had about 8 folks there for SCII night (4 of them would switch games up here and there).
This week's SCII night will be at LANKnights for their LAN event. It's BYOC.

For the Friday 9/3 LAN there are already ~60 people RSVPd, and typically more show up than RSVPd, so it'll probably be big, I encourage you to come. For the SC2 Nights at NLL, I went last Friday, there were ~5 or 6 of us there, we pretty much sat next to each other and played some games, it was pretty fun, and I'm sure cecil will be there like every Friday, and hes a nice guy thats always fun to hang out with, and I'll be there most Fridays that I don't have something else planned. Theres also a few people who live like 5 minutes away that stop by.

Though we may be short on PCs on account of there being a counterstrike tournament that day. So if you don't mind the self-righteous, pompous "guidos of gaming" we can get together this Sat.

Right on. PLEASE register and post about it on nextlevellan.com on their forums. They need to get a good idea of how many of us will be there that night. They have a CS tournament and we don't want them to take up all of the computers.

This week's event will be SATURDAY (9/18/2010). I -might- be out there Friday as well. The official night is on Sat. though. Last week sucked due to counterstrike kids so a lot of us played other games that night.

Hmm. I'm trying to shoot for Saturday again. Just a heads up in a few weeks from now I'm going to be married and going on my honeymoon so those are two weeks of nothingness for the sc2 scene.
But yes. This SATURDAY (9/25/10) there will be SCII night. I'm probably going to be out there Friday but officially I'd count on Saturday.

Sure is. Sorry I was on vacation. This week's SCII Night will be a double-feature actually. Friday I'd like to have us go to NLL and Saturday is LANKnights (Lanknights.net). If you're conflicted between the two events and can't pick which one to go to, choose LANKnights this week.

Unfortuneatly I was not kidding. For a LAN party it was a great time. I was there from about 7:30pm to 9:30pm playing at the table by the people on the wii. Maybe I just was not social enough?

yea obviously not, there were 15+ ppl playing SC2 the whole time, and many others that played off and on.

Hello, I just moved into the Union park area and was wondering what the current rates for the lancenter are nowadays and when the next lan is? I got a fellow SC2 nut coming up to visit and we are pretty pumped to got to our first real lan.

nextlevellan.com has their rates. SCII night won't be going on this week because of Otronicon though. Basically you get 10% off and a free hour if you show up.

You can bring your accessories if you want but they have everything you need. I think it is $27 with the discount now. I'm heading down there soon.

You can bring your keyboard and mouse if you want. They have an ABS mechanical keyboard and an MX518 mouse by default. You don't have to BYOC, though.

I got there and saw only like ~15 people there and only like ~6 of them playing SC2. I just said screw it and left since I dont feel like paying $5/hr just to play a game i can play for free at home. :/ Thought there would be more people.
I'll just be at the LANKnights event in september, which I know attracts more people.

Hey guys,
Just some updates about SCII nights. These events are still going on where you get 10% off + a free hour. I'm out of town until mid-March but for now all SCII nights will take place on Saturdays. I'm going to keep the company's calendar updated just so it's official and they know to give you a discount.

Nice. You'll really like Patrick. It's right by the beach and the food there is fan freaking tastic. Facilities are mostly brand new as well.

I hate Patrick. This base is terrible might as well just be a retirement home. The base housing has regular civilians and retired personnel living in them.
The place shuts down at 4pm, and Ive been to the beach 3 times in 2.5 years don't care for it.

Nope, no executive service here. The base itself is ran by a 1 star at the moment. For me personally I have a group commander and a squadron commander. My group commander is a Full bird colonel, my squadron commander just got word he will be promoted to full bird and my deputy commander is a lt. commander.

Seems like Orlando is becoming larger for sc2. Now that I'm back in Orlando I can host these for you guys once more. Keep an eye out on the next level LAN calendar and I'll keep seeing you guys there. Thanks to all of those who participate, we get a lot of training in

This FRIDAY will be the night for this week's event. I have to echo the last post in saying that Orlando is starting to become a major hub for esports. Thanks for being a big part of it all guys. Hey folks,
I just wanted to post some extra info. These events are starting to get nice! Last week we had all of the computers filled with 8 people partaking in an inhouse 4v4 monobattles. Keep up the great attendance! I've seen some silver players go diamond in the course of attending these events. I'm proud of you all <3
