http://www.StarCraftAus.com is a new site aiming to bring more competitions to Australia and New Zealand and foster a friendly and competitive community. To launch the site we are hosting a 6-8 week long, multi-stage tournament that aims to allow both new and experienced players to compete in a fun and exciting environment. We also aim to provide many exciting matches for spectators to enjoy.
Format:

The SCA open will be a three(3) stage tournament.
- * Series of mini-tournaments (Best of three(3))
* Top 32 Single Elimination (Best of three(3))
* Top 8 Double Elimination(Best of five(5))
The mini-tournaments qualifiers will run over one(1) or three(3) days. They will run from Monday to Wednesday, Thursday to Saturday and Sundays. Each set of dates will have will have multiple groups running at the same time. The winner of each mini-competition will advance to the single elimination RO32. Players are able to enter as many mini-tournaments as they wish until they qualify but need to be available for all dates of the mini-tournament.
The single elimination stage aims to bring out the cream of the crop and get the best 8 players from the remaining players and pit them in an intense fight for those vital positions.
The double elimination stage is where things get real. We are left with only the best players fighting to show they are Australia's and New Zealand's best. Double elimination is one of the most competitive formats and offers the best matches for spectators and competitors, we will be aiming to get as many of these games casted as possible so everyone can enjoy them.

- * All players must save a replay for their games in case of a dispute.
* Tools to auto-save replays: Batch File SC2gear
* Spectators are allowed if agreed upon by both players.
* If one player does not agree to the spectator they should not be harassed for it and the spectator will not be allowed.
* A screenshot of the agreement to allow the spectator will be required in the case of a dispute to prove the agreement.
* Any spectators causing a game to be laggy should leave without being asked as to not disturb the players.
* Any spectators watching the game should conduct themselves appropriately especially in the cases of casted games. If a caster deems your behavior to be inappropriate as spectator they have the right to ask you to leave.
* In appropriate behavior includes but is not limited to: Excessive swearing, insulting players, racist comments and chat spam.
* Unsportsmanlike like conduct, abusing your opponent, excessive swearing and racist comments during or between matches may result in removal from the competition or bans from future tournaments.
* There are no skill level exclusions (Bronze upto Diamond players are welcome to enter).
* The winner of each single elimination and double eliminations stage game need to send the replays for the games to support@starcraftaus.com with a clear identifier of what match the replay is for.
* Both players must report the result of matches on the forums match discussion section in the appropriate thread.
* If only one(1) player reports a result it will be assumed to be correct.
* If you want to dispute a reported result you should report the result with "Disputing" in your post as well as emailing support@starcraftaus.com with your dispute to help resolve it quickly.
* For most disputes you will need to provide a replay and if there were spectators proof of agreement to allow them
* Results should be reported in following format to make it easier for admins to quickly assess "Winner <score> > Loser <score>" e.g Rake 2 > XiShNiK 1
* Players must be registered on the StarCraftAus forums to compete.
* Players are responsible for organising their matches
* Players will allow casters listed in casters section as well as admins to spectate their games if

Single Elimination Stage and Mini-Tournaments Qualifiers (Bo3):
For the single elimination stage the players take turn eliminating maps until three(3) remain. The lower seed begins the process eliminating the first map. Once three(3) maps remain the higher seed chooses the starting map from the remaining map pool. The loser of the first map will choose the second map from the remaining map pool. If needed the last map from the pool will be played as a decider.
Double Elimination (Bo5):
For the single elimination stage the players take turn eliminating maps until five(5) remain. The lower seed begins the process eliminating the first map. Once five(5) maps remain the higher seed chooses the starting map from the remaining map pool. After the first map the loser chooses the next map from the remaining pool.

Single Elimination and Double Elimination:
For the large part players will be responsible for sorting their matches. However admins will be available to help smooth these games and aim to resolve time conflicts as best as possible. Any difficulties in contacting your opponent should be addressed ASAP.
For the semi-finals and grand-finals the admin team will step up communication with players to ensure games can be casted.
