I think he is riding a massive momentum train and has the psychological edge over everyone.
Go look at the interviews with other players, a lot of the time they aren't asked anything to do with flash and he comes up anyways. Everyone recognizes he is the best right now.
We've seen it many times where someone will get an edge over him and then lose it, part of that is him playing extremely good but I think part of it is the other player psyching themselves out.
The series vs MVP and free were good examples of him mindfucking his opponent, you want to get an early edge over him bc that's the only way you feel you can win? Sorry, forward rax and great micro into you're dead. Then when you change your play because you don't want to get roflstomped 3-0 in 30 minutes? He early expands and gets the advantage over you and rolls you in the midgame. We've seen this bite him in the ass in the ace match against fantasy but that was partially due to his decision to expand thinking fantasy wouldn't proxy...
I'm looking for the iloveoov quotation about mindgames but I can't find it -_-
You need someone with good mental fortitude to take down flash and I think the only player capable of it even if bisu or stork or whoever else was in shape is jaedong.

Day[9] has finally perfected Bear Semen and has begun to sell it abroad, since the US FDA has deemed it two awesome to be allowed in the US.

lol @ ella_guru's post haha.
In all seriousness though, someone already said it in the thread earlier (Ikonn). Flash has always been in the top three best BW players but his schedule made it impossible for him to preform correctly.
During the off season he gained a lot of rest and when the season started off again he hit the tear that all true Flash fans already knew he was capable of. Luckily he's been riding on that momentum ever since the start of the season. Mentally he is way ahead of everyone at the moment and as long as he is mentally able to handle his schedule, he'll continue to dominate. EDIT: What I'm trying to say is that it's no coincidence that this ridiculous streak started after a long period of time off.

LOL Love the last picture of Flash. And love his general Eye-twitchings too lol.
I think with the statements you made in your OP about how everyone is so close in skills, the only logical conclusion that we can draw from that is his mindset. The margin of skill is so small, yet Flash continues to plow through everyone. All that is left is the mental part of the equation.
1. He is at the top. So everybody he faces is gunning for him; with this mindset they are already looking up to Flash. When Flash first came into the league, he did not do this. Remember the game where he rushed Bisu [when Bisu was still with MBC and was one of the better players], Flash obviously didn't look up to his opponent in that match or series.
2. Flash is much more relaxed. Look at him in beginning of games compared to other contestants. I've seen Flash take a drink when he was 9/10 into the game. He's also said himself in an interview somewhere that he drinks because it reminds him of the practice room--a place where he is extremely comfortable in. In one of his earlier interviews he said that he never loses any of his practice games but lose a lot more in progamer matches. So he found a way to apply this and relax himself in progamer matches now. Compared to other progamers, they are sweating, making negative face gestures/remarks, crying, scratching their testicles...unheard of...okay maybe not unheard of.
3. I've seen some matches where opponents semi-prematurely GG. Flash never GG's unless he is out of minerals or they are destroying his entire main base. Some opponents "semi-prematurely" GG with him because they have this attitude that they are looking up to Flash, so they expect they will eventually lose in like the next 15 minutes. I have seen Flash come from behind to win. Perhaps it's because Flash macro>theirs...so it does come down to skill. Flash just has better Macro. Okay...#3 is a combination of Flash macro>others and some people just semi prematurely GG'ing.
4. Read 1
5. Double Emphasis on 2.
6. His eye-twitching death glares.
7. Read 6.
8. Read 8.

I can buy this explanation.

Flash basically have every build order and counter in the world in his head aswell as monsterous micro, he knows exactly what to do when he sees his opponents base and ajusts accordingly. You basically can't beat him straight up, you gotta throw him off his game or hit him when he least expect it.

Stork is someone who knows how to punish greedy builds.
i think stork at his prime can probably take 2-3 games off flash, but jangbi at his prime can probably roll flash 3-0, 3-1

An ungodly combination of management and timings. Also, in ZvT, he is so quick moving his MnM around. Never leaves them still, so his multitask is obviously insane too.

Mostly talent IMO. He's so much smarter than everyone else in the history of BW. It took him a while to fully mature as a player though due to the extreme workload he used to have (he carried a progaming team on his shoulders at the age of 16 ffs) and a little overconfidence/stubbornness/refusal to mix things up (like his periods of 14 CC, ''I don't need them turrets to defend'', Flash build turtle literally every TvP), but it's always been pretty obvious that he had ridiculous potential. Finally the pieces are coming together. Ultimate Weapon indeed!

Can someone explain why he does the thing with the ruler and the keyboard? Love the crazy face.

I think he measures with a ruler the exact position of his keyboard, etc.

i believe that FLASH is in what is called "the zone" by Day[9] however i dont think that it is a normal "zone" for him like JD he has extraordinary focus which means that his "zone" would be even stronger play but Day[9] spoke about one event where he felt like he was watching himself play and win as he was doing it i believe that this is what flash might experience every single game and that this is the pinacle of focus where there is not even the slightest lapse in concentration for even a millisecond
also, Pocari Sweat (the drink he drinks) clearly helps him reach the comfort needed for this "zone" so i would say its the water (where can i buy some? lol)

I think you should add "Final Form" to the list of Flashes nicknames, because thats what it appears to be.

I'm so afraid Flash will slump like the rest of the Gods. I sure hope he doesn't, because I love seeing this terran freight train completely run over the competition!
but I feel T_T for JangBi

It's all mental when you get to that level.
FlaSh has insane mental toughness, which he has cultivated from essentially being a child slave in the KT prohouse for like 3 years. I think that the fact that his team is doing so much better relieves a lot of the stress and pressure from him, so he can focus more on important games, as well as the fact that his mental state is overall better.

hmm couple things i wanna say...
1. was it that kingdom said bisu's multitasking is slipping, or everyone else is catching up? 2. protoss is no longer his "weakest" race, after game 3 of playing FREE xD TvZ is. 3. jaedong still holds the record for vZ peak. 4. kespa score is really weird

I lol'd.
Flash is imba. Nerf flash.
