Just played a really gay game and got beat by a toss with like 40 apm less than me who played completly fucking mediocre.
My quesiton: How the fuck do I deal with recall. I macroed better, I killed ALL OF HIS PROBES AT THE FUCKING NATURAL, we were on even bases the entire game, and I still get fucked over by 2 recalls. So gay that he barely has to try to win.
I know when I ask for help I'm supposed to try to see for myself what I did wrong first but in this case I can't.
The only mistake I made was failing to scout his hidden expo, which, granted was pretty bad but it still left us on even base and my vultures raped everything.
So what was I supposed to do here/? he just won the game with 2 goddam recalls .
and in general how do I deal with recalls and dont just say turrets / mines cause no matter how many trillion turrets I lay the arbiter always ends up in my base.

lol rage
Just do like Flash. Simple, really.

Yes TvP is a joke. That's why I play Zerg and do a ling runby when I play a protoss on iccup.

Turrets, Mines, Vessels, macro.

Maybe any starport / facility vs stargate timing? Any good method to place turrets? etc etc. All im asking is that people don't just spew out "turret and mine" and actually offer some decent advice.

What great advice, thanks. Excuse me while I get 400 apm and maphacks built into my brain.

don't post if you're not gonna watch the rep cause I did all of those things

HiyA, Really, Fantasy, and Flash begs to differ!
Against Recall:
Mine up. Turret up. If that fails, Have 1-2 Science Vessels and keep a look out. You have 40+ apm than this Protoss, so it should be fine for you, right? If you suck at EPM, then make a ghost and lockdown that shit.
If all that fail, well, kill the Protoss before Arbiter. I'm a Protoss, and in TvP, it's hard to win with straight-up macro as a Terran. The Protoss just gets so many bases. As a Protoss, I'm most fearful of Timing Pushes. A well micro-ed and timed push is really hard to win against. (Best timing would be right after my natural is being made)

If I suck at emp what makes you think for a fraction of a second that I'd be better at something that demands more attention
Can somebody please actually watch the rep?

No, I'm not going to watch the rep because your OP has a ridiculous tone. You know the counters to recall and you admit you aren't good enough to use them properly. So alter your game plan to kill him before he gets Arbtiers.
|
Perhaps people would have been nicer to you if the tone in your OP was little more gentler.
|
this thread is just stupid!
|
What the hell? You're pretty much saying ''What is 1+1, and don't fucking tell me it's 2''.

orz double va makes you superman.

I;m asking specifically what I did wrong this game. I had more units, better upgrades, even bases, better econ and got fucked by 2 recalls, which, no matter how imbalanced protoss is, shouldn't happen. I really don;t see how I dealt with the recalls wrongly which is what I'm asking cause he went 2 base arbiters and I feel like I got the most turrets up that I could reasonably have gotten at that stage. Doesnt help that theres like 10 angles he can come in from.
As for the tone...losing like that is really frustrating, is that really hard to understand?

Okay. I watched the replay. You call that turreting up? You built like 4 turrets near the top left corner of your base. The rest of your base's edge was WIDE open. You had no mines. You didn't even EMP. He had his Arbiters sitting on the 12'o'clock base for like 2 minutes. You even FLEW your Vessel by. I stay by everyone's argument:
- More turrets, more mines, Vessel by edge of your base, Lockdown if you have to.
|
Then don't make the thread immediately after the loss, if you're that frustrated by it.

Everyone loses, but not everyone takes such a juvenile tone in a thread asking for help.
I'll watch the game anyway and edit this post with a reply.
Alright, I'm watching this from your perspective. Notes in chronological order.
1. You don't manage to split properly. 2. You don't make SCVs immediately at 50 minerals. 3. Chatting? Really? 4. Your supply depot starts at 140 minerals. 5. Your rax starts at 200 minerals. 6. Also the placement for both are terrible. 7. You flame your opponent within two minutes of the game. What the fuck is your problem? 8. You send an SCV carrying minerals to mine gas. 9. You accuse cheese at 3:15, having scouted the correct number of pylons in base. Do you even know how to scout? Jesus fucking christ, you scout 1 gate range. 10. Your follow up play after the expand actually isn't terrible (managing your base). You queue four SCVs for some reason though. And your macro suffers at around 600 supply onward. 11. You have no map presence or awareness. There are a few mines at bases, but none in front of his base. You also have no clue what his unit composition is, and decide to take a third base against a Protoss two-base? That's just begging to be run over. 12. Idle SCVs everywhere. 13. You don't ever actually scan his base. Or his nat. Or anything that would help you decide what to do. 14. Terrible macro after 100 supply. Many supply blocks, and you consistently have thousands (think 3k) minerals in the bank. 15. Oh you finally scan his base at 12. Would've been easier to stop if you had noticed it earlier. Also now you have 6000 minerals. 16. Yeah I'm not going to bother watching anymore (already watched about 75%).
Your main issues are the facts that you can't macro, have no map awareness, and never scout. Your complaint about APM is funny because I can macro better than you as Terran with thirty fewer APM. You also seem to have an attitude problem, as clearly evidenced by the first three minutes of chat. Before you go and accuse Recalls of being imbalanced (this Protoss was shit as well), maybe you should examine your own piss poor play and man up to your failures.

wow, yea seriously you call that doin a recall counter? barely any turrets, no EMP, and there were no mines. in the late game u have to know the timing of when the time is right for a recall. and when that happens just get some vultures, mine ur base up, then harass with them when they have 0 mines left
try being more mannerd

i wonder what does artosis think about this.. try not to rage so much about TvP if you lost to arbiters try to see how you can finish him earlier... and apm doesnt matter.. T will always have to do more things than p does..

No it's not; we all get pissed at this game once and a while, but TL forums are not the place to take that out.
