Poll: Does it bother you if someone leaves without a "GG" and is it BM? (Vote): YES IT'S SO BM! OMG YOU SHOULD BE BURNED! (Vote): It's not BM, but it bothers me.,, (Vote): I guess it's BM, but I really don't care enough to be offended. (Vote): What's the problem?
So a funny thing happened to me for the first time the other day. I decided to play a game online after taking a break and upon losing the game, I left without typing "GG". I subsequently received several messages telling me that I was bad mannered and that I should grow up or something along those lines.
The thing is leaving without typing, "GG" is pretty normal for me and it's something I've pretty much been doing since the game first came out. I suppose I just always figured that the people I play for the most part are totally random people who I don't say anything else to anyway so I always just left and moved onto the next game, never really getting into the whole "GG" thing that eventually developed and I suppose became somewhat standard online before leaving a game. Anyway, I never really thought a whole lot about it until this particular occasion because until now nobody has taken enough offense to contact me after a game about it so it just got me a bit curious as to how much it bothered other people and since I had a little extra time on my hands, I decided to waste my time making a stupid poll about it.
What do you think and why?

I hate it more when people say "GG" for me. Thats more BM -_-

meh better to go on secondary account and own him again, if your opponent not saying GG really pisses you off

I only say gg if it's vs a name I recognize and it's not a friend who knows I don't usually gg. Alternatively I do it if it's in a tournament or if I'm streaming live.
Doesn't bother me if my opponent leaves without saying "gg" and I don't consider it bm.\ I was hoping with the release of SC2 this silly habit would go away, but it seems to have not

Where's the "i like it cos i like cos it usually means i frustrated my opponent" option? XD
|
i especially hate people who cheese then dont gg back when you gg. sometimes, i like to force them to say gg back. oh yeah and i think that offensive gg's are awsome. they are legit against someone trying to hide the farm against you

Leaving without gg'ing is bad mannered by definition. That's one of the ways people define bad mannered.
As to whether opponents' not gg'ing bothers me, it does not. I think it's a nicer way to finalize the game so it should be done. However, I'm not bothered in any way if someone just leaves.

I just get a little chuckle knowing that my play inspired nerd rage

This. I find it hilarious if someone leaves without GG'ing because it means I had to have annoyed them.

Bad mannered I guess, but if you cheese then it is understandable.

"GG" is like an official surrender, so I dont think it is a silly habit, cause it lets you know when you won. Also it makes korean SC commentating better when they yell "GG"

I think it's safe to say that you know you've won when your opponent leaves the game.. I do agree about the broadcasting, though.

I almost always gg unless I'm really annoyed or my opponent is bm in which case I liftoff, fly to corners and browse TL for a bit.
|
i enjoy illiciting "wow how did i lose to you, you piece of trash" out of them as a formal surrender rather than gg.
|
I don't mind people not gging just because I find it funny.
Sometiems I do leave without GGing mostly when I'm very pissed at how bad I played
