Is anyone watching this? It's supposedly the biggest Military Parade in its 60-year history -- they do it every ten years. The parade displays Chinese military and domestic technology.
Here's a streaming link from CCTV (China Central Television, the major national television network in China). You have the option to choose between P2P and WMV streaming (click beside TCL) http://zhibo.guoqing.cctv.com/special/gqzb/p2p/index.shtml
Even if you don't understand Chinese, I think it might be interesting just to see newest Chinese technology.
Feel free to post English streaming links

I'll be watching! I'm using QQQTV though, as the direct stream from CCTV tends to be pretty unreliable.

The p2p stream is surprisingly smooth, I wouldn't be surprised if they configured the Great Firewall just so that people could watch this properly.

I wish America did this. We probably have no clue about the kind of shit they have, with all their top secret technology and military-related stuff. It would be like looking into the future, only it would be the present.
I would probably only watch the Chinese version if it was the only program on the only television channel being broadcasted. It seems like it will just be a large bunch of people marching in unison, with second rate tech compared to the Americans, with the only message being how strong they are...

i will be watching! can't wait

I'll check it out.
The sad thing is that if the Chinese nationalist had taken over there probably wouldn't be a unified China today. It'd have been exploited to hell and back by the western imperialist interests at the time. You simply can't have that much landmass and natural resources and not be its own sovereign nation.
All the moaning about human rights kinda just has the wrong perspective. Chinese people suffered tremendously in the 50 years since the founding of PRC but today they can be proud of the fact that China has risen to be a superpower again.

It's just sad in general how fucked up the Nationalists were. They were handed every advantage, but chose to piss it away with every decision they made. If they weren't so corrupt/stupid back then, China might look a lot freer today.

I have a bad feeling about this, glorification in the army. I can see no good.

more like china would look a lot worse like how taiwan is today

Well, China has been peaceful with their army in the sense that they haven't really invaded anyone in their history. Internal affairs are another matter, though.
Well, it's a proudful moment in China, which I think is a good thing as long as they keep on working towards reform.

You are wrong. More like Japanese fucked up Nationalists while Communists were hiding in dungeons.

From what I understand it, the Communist really gained popular support during the war because of their war efforts against the Japanese looked a lot better alongside the Nationalists.

WMV stream not working for me either.

Communist influence . For all the bad they did, the commies were pretty good about promoting gender equality
