Two group stages seems cool. It means a lot of games though. I wonder how many streams there are going to be. We're still going to miss some of the more interesting games no doubt. Good thing they probably will release replays like before. Awesome event, can't wait.

I would guess 4-6 streams at the main event. The online part is hopefully shoutcasted.

Of course there is. National pride alienates citizens from other nations and helps drum up support for government (both the entity overall and the ruling party/ies). Given the tenuous balance of world peace up until relatively recently (and still in many parts of the world), it was vital to help ensure the survival of a nation, and still can be. The problem, of course, is that in the new globalized world, with easy travel to other nations for tourism, work, studies, visiting family/friends etc, these same qualities can be (and generally are) harmful in modernized coutries with fairly stable borders. It still has some use in that it fosters competitiveness, which can be good motivation, and success in sporting (and other) events will improve morale and general happiness in a nation, while losing rarely causes the opposite response.

It seems surprising that you still don't get anything if you survive 2 group stages. In normal formats 8/64 paid sounds fine, but it feels like 16 paid would've suited better in this situation. Also there's no 3rd place match? That's a bit weird. Also wasting 2days to get it 64->16 and then one day for rest of it seems rushing it. Will be real shame if ro16 and maybe ro8 are bo3s.

No matter the format; it'll definately be awesome tournament.

I look forward to the day when athletes only represent themselves (or their clubs), not countries. It's kind of sad lines on a map dictate who people cheer for.

Anyway, this will be a blast. I don't think I've been this hyped up for a happening outside of Korea since Dreamhack Winter 2010. Just need more Korean invites and this time it'll be even better.

Look, I'm not a very nationalistic person, and I do find nationalism sort of annoying in many ways, but do you know what I find even more annoying? These people that just have to point out the "stupidity" of these feelings and somehow thinks that makes them look smart. Trust me, it doesn't. Fact of the matter is, humans are NOT rational beings, most emotions are NOT rational, so to point out that certain feelings are "not legitimate", is just fucking retarded.
