This is extremely situational. For example, a new user who was really brash and probably just not respecting the rules of this site; a perm ban may be given as a way to force him to lose his ID and have to go through the hassle of creating a new account, one which he will hopefully be more conservative and respectful on, lest he have to go through it again. For the more tenured permabanned users, it really IS more about a "get the hell out of here" kind've message. And generally, if we're perm banning someone with tenure, we have a damn good reason to do so, and you can be damn sure we won't allow them back anytime soon. | ||
