Host – How are you guys after the comeback.Minah – Thanks for all the super attention, we’re really happy now.
Hyeri – It feels like I can fly~
Host – Really Oh My God, is huge hit. You all seem really tired, but your facial expressions seem much better. Receiving and living off the fan’s love, it’s nice to see. Now this 3rd time, it is “Elementary School” episode.Hyeri – OING?
Host – Yes Elementary School…Hyeri – Yura Episode~
Host – Not that you guys are childish, but let’s learn about them during those days. Not Girl’s Day members but, the past Bang Minah, Park Sojin, Kim Ahyoung, Woo Jihae, and Lee Hyeri. Let’s learn about you guys, so that’s what prepared, your fans seemed to be very curious.Sojin – So we reverted back to the Truth Game style.
Host – How were you doing elementary school, so now we will start to find out. So everyone’s elementary school days, Hyeri’s was the closest yes? To graduate from Elementary school?Hyeri – Five years? Six years?
Sojin – Oh wow.
Jihae – How is it five years (sarcastic tone).
Host – To have graduated.Sojin – Really it hasn’t been that long…
Hyeri – It’s been 6 years, what what~!
Jihae – Because it’s hasn’t been that long.
Host – And we’re going to talk about Girl’s Day’s elementary school days. And for Sojin-ssi, we can only talk from 4th grade onwards.Sojin – Oh why why why?
Host – Because from 1st to 3rd grade you went to Gukmin Hakgyo*.Sojin – Oh how did you know? I went to Gukmin Hakgyo.
Host – Yes 1st to 3rd. And for Jihae-ssi, changed right when she entered 1st grade. Great deal of research.Group – Wahhhh.
Host – For me I graduated Gukmin Hakgyo. I was the last generation for Gukmin Hakgyo. *clap clap clap* Why are you clapping so suddenly?Minah - *covered by clapping something something*
Yura – This great research.
Host – Yes I greatly old. I’m only 30 years old.[*T/N- Long story short, during the Japanese colonization of S. Korea, they changed lots of culture including the word for Elementary School (So Hak Gyo). After regaining control, the term Gukmin* Hakgyo which means (Hwang Guk Shin Min Hak Gyo – [Can even sacrifice your life for the Japanese King, training subjects for Japan school] was changed to (Cho Deung Hak Gyo – meaning Elementary School)] referring back to the meanings of Cho (Beginner) / Joong (Middle) / and Go (High) for the levels of education.]
Host – Now everyone’s Elementary School days. What’s the first thing that comes to your mind?Minah – Bbopki*!
[*T/N – Ok this one is going to be a bit longer.
The one Minah mentions is like a Korean bingo style where you can receive a prize by spinning a wheel and throwing a dart on it. You can put prize stuff on top of numbers and the number that hit with the dart you can claim. Or you can trade the Dalgona with snack prizes.
Now the real process of Dalgona (The main prize for the Bbopki game), is a sugar + baking powder mixture cooked over a heat source on a spoon / soup ladle or some kind of model. Before the mixture solidifies when it cools off on a hot surface, there are a number of shape models that were available (animal, ship, airplane, the most popular being the carp form). After the outside edges have been poked off with a sharp tool or knife, with a good shape you can trade these forms for prizes in the Bbopki game.
Thank God Youtube had a video on it lol.]
Host – In Elementary school, anyone that would develop a nickname.Group – Ohh nickname~
Host – Let’s learn about your nicknames.Minah – I have a funny one, oh not mine.
Host – Okay we’ll learn about one by oneMinah – *sound effects*
Host – Now first born in 1994, May 14th birthday Lee Hyeri.Hyeri – That’s not me!
Group – EHEY!!!
Hyeri – May 14th is Jihae-unni!
Host – Yes?Hyeri – It’s Jihae-unni~
Host – 1994, what month…Hyeri – June 9th~
Host – Ah June 9th, (stuttering) is that so?Group – Hul!
Hyeri – He showed us a weakness.
Host – If I look too perfect, it could be burdensome for you all~ June 9th birthday, Lee Hyeri-yang. What was your nickname in Elementary school?Hyeri – For me I didn’t have a nickname that stuck, it was around the time… when Harry Potter was coming out. When we played magicians, it started right then, they were like “Ahh it’s Hyeri Potter! Hyeri Potter~! Do some magic!” did requests and stuff.
Minah – Real elementary kids.
Host – Did the children do that voice, “it’s Harry Potter~”Hyeri – Yes Haha, “It’s Harry Potter~”.
Yura – That’s Gollum, ahaha.
Host – Because Harry Potter, because you looked like Harry?Hyeri – Because my name was Hyeri.
Yura – Why are you like this?!
Group – OH MY GOSH, isn’t this too much?!?! Ah really..!!! You look like Harry Potter~
Yura – You look like Gollum~
Sojin – Jungmal Nunchi kochi hana opseo~ Group – Opseo~
[T/N: Song verse from Oh! My God – means he has 0 nunchi*]
(*Nunchi = this is something like having good awareness and reaction to a situation, having good ‘sense’. Big part of Korean culture.
More song lyrics)
Sojin – So frustrating~ going crazy~
Host – It was a just a joke, but these are really aggressive tackles. Harry Potter, because your name was Hyeri. I’m constantly getting a call right now.Minah – Huh~ from who?
Host – From Na-director.[5:00]
Hyeri – Please turn it off.
Host – Oh? To tell him to get the hell out?(T/N - play on words kkuh juh sae yo[turn it off please] kkuh juh [rude way of saying get out])
Host – Oh manager! I was so surprised. Telling him to get out, it’s just a misunderstanding Na-manager. Next is Minah-ssi, born on 1993 May 13th, name Bang Minah. (????? Grr audio)
Yura – It’s probably gas (Bang goo) Minah.
Host – What was your nickname in your Elementary school days?Minah – Because my last name is Bang, my friends would be like ‘Ya Bang Minah did you fart? Fart fart fart~, (Someone – stink bomb!) captain gas, bboong bboong bboong (Sounds).
Host – So your nickname is, ‘Bang Minah did you fart? Bboong bboong bboong, stink bomb, captain gas’. It was very long.Minah – Yes.
Yura – Maybe she really farted for real? Maybe she smelled a lot.
Minah – No way.
Yura – Be honest, not because your last name is Bang.
Minah – Back then I was healthy so they didn’t smell at all.
Yura – How is that possible hehehe.
Jihae – Then right now she’s not healthy and they smell hehehehe.
Host – So until 6th grade, she says they did not smell.Sojin – Aw so cute.
Host – It’s just a nickname from her last name.Minah – Ahhh whyyyyyy~ :<
Host – Yes Minah-ssi, captain gas. Did you have complaints from this nickname?Sojin – She must have, she must have gotten so much pressure that it might happen for real. Like if it smells, ‘oh was it me’, you know. It must have been like that.
[Yura spazzing time]
Yura – Like if my name was Bang Yura, maybe I would have too, if my last name was Bang.
Group – What are you talking about o.o?
Host – Yura-ssi, what she is saying, time to translate. If she was herself a Bang-ssi, she could have also gotten same nickname as Bang Ah Young, everyone Yura-ssi doesn’t know Korean well.(Group – rofl)
Host – Yura-ssi needs the red pen in the mysterious Hangeul world (must be a product). Please see Kumon (a tutoring company)Yura – T.T
Sojin – Please send the listening tapes too~
Yura – (alien language)
Host – Yes Minah-ssi, do you have some emotional scars from those nicknames?Minah – Um. OH YES I DID, I just thought of it. I did something mean to my dad once because I hated my last name. I hated hearing the word ‘bang goo’, I went to dad and said, “I hate being Bang-ssi, I’m going to be Kim-ssi from now on!” then dad got real angry, “YOU, GET OUT” so I started get dressed to go out, and he was like “WITHOUT YOUR CLOTHES”.
Yura – OH ME TOO ME TOO.
Minah – So I hid near in the bicycle racks, only in my underwear when I was in elementary school.
Yura – Me too in the bicycle house.
Host – Why would parents always say get out with clothes off to their children in their elementary school days so much?Hyeri – Probably to prevent kids going out.
Host – Because they bought the clothes, so take them off?Sojin – My mom just tells me to go out fully clothed. So they just make me stand outside the main door. I just stand there all day, while crying.
Hyeri – Oh so sad~
Host – Well it’s not your father’s fault at all, since he had the same name from your grandfather.Minah – Yes we probably shared the same nicknames too.
Host – So your father would say, “Hey I survived and you can make do as well”.Sojin – I think we need to invite Sofa Bang Jung Ah teacher out.
Minah – I’m sorry dad T.T I love you~
Host – Okay that’s settled, Minah’s nickname was captain gas. Now onto Ahyoung-ssi of Ulsan, what was your nickname?Yura – I didn’t have wan~
Host – Not ‘um ssuh sseo yo’ (mispronouncing acting cute) but you didn’t have one?Yura – I really didn’t have one.
Host – So none during Elementary school…Yura – I had one during middle school though.
Host – What was that?Yura – It was ‘Ilac’, Aiiiilac~
Sojin – AHH really, in the past it was during that... Super Junior show what was it…
Yura – Ilac flower scent~
Sojin – Ah ‘Young Street’, on that show Kim Heechul-sunbaenim was on there, Yura said her nickname was Ilac. She said she resembled Ko Ara-ssi
Ko Ara![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/BPMTc.jpg)
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/BVWVw.jpg)
+ Show Spoiler [More] +Sojin – Saying it was ‘*boilac ilac~’, his reaction was… so disgusted!
Group – laughs.
[This CF consists of Go Ara moving through a background where a source of wind almost shows under her skirt. A CF parody on the Korean phrase Boilang Malang – meaning almost or barely visible.]
Host – I was shocked when I heard it too, does not relate at all.Yura – When I was young I heard that a lot.
Sojin – At first she did resemble her.
Host – Ah so she did look like her in the beginning.Sojin – She had that image, but now Yura has her own definite color.
Yura – Yes I heard many times that I resembled Go Ara-sunbaenim, right now amongst my high school friends, like the only people that call me ‘Ahyoung-ah’ is just one out of ten people. They call me ‘Ilac-ah or Lac-ah’.
Host – More than your name.Yura – Yes everyone, not ‘Ailac’ (proper way of pronouncing the brand) but rather Ilac-ah or Lac-ah they say that. So the only memorable nickname I have is Ilac.
Sojin – So aren’t you… Kim Ilac?
Hyeri – Ahahah
Yura – Like almost to that level.
Hyeri – She changed her name x 2. Into Ahyoung-ee.
Yura – Yes to that level, I used that nickname for 4 years, so that’s the only nickname I remember.
Minah – Oh is that so…
Hyeri – Fart
Minah – YAH! You want a smell of this!?
[10:00]
Host – For me as well I had a bad time with nicknames, I’m now 30 years old, the nickname I had since middle school is…Sojin – Oh I want to guess. Jo Sung Mo.
[Oh Why Sojin so lovely to mention my favorite artist ^_^. Have some ‘For Your Soul’]
Host – Ey not such a childish nickname as that. Coming up from high school up into university.Hyeri – Fart?
Sojin – I got it. Chul-ee! Galaxy Express 999’s Chul-ee!
Yura – OH, I SEE THE RESEMBLANCE.
Minah – Yeah I see it too.
Chulee![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Puo6H.jpg)
Host – I resemble my mother. My nickname is from my first year of middle school. The physical education teacher, right now I’m close to 180cm, not that tall I was short at that time, my nickname was Octopus (jukoomi) that nickname was.Octopus hehehe.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/r7YMx.jpg)
[T/N: They go back and forth in the single-J and double-J pronunciation of octopus, and they both mean octopus]
Yura – Octopus! Buy us some octopus~
Host – When I went up to high school and into university.Sojin – Why is it octopus?
Host – Because I was short, jjukoomi, jokeum (small) because of that.Minah – jokeum-ee! (Minah combining both words here)
Host – Even our director, saying ‘jukoom-ah jukoom-ah’ he did that so everyone calls me that now. I don’t feel upset much. But rarely…Jihae – jjukoomi jjukoomi~
Yura – Buy me some octopus~
Host – I think I should not have mentioned this. Even my juniors in university, 10 years younger than me, that just started…Hyeri – Jukeum-sunbaenim~
Group – (Laughter especially Yura XD)
Minah – Jjukeum-sunbaenim, buy us some octopus~
Host – Jjukeum-ee sunbaenim, or Jjukeum-ee oppa, like thatGroup – Ohhhh, really?
Sojin – It has a unique feel to it.
Hyeri – It’s okay.
Yura – It’s memorable.
Hyeri – I think it’s good to have a nickname.
Host – So when I first started broadcasting with my director…Sojin – DJ Octopus?
Host – What should I introduce myself as, he said ‘What about MC Octopus?’ But I’m originally an actor… I don’t think nicknames are good. So that’s the story.Minah – I think it’s pretty good.
Yura – Octopus MC.
Host – Is that so?Hyeri – Mr. Octopus.
Minah – MC Jjoo!
Yura – Can I call you jjookeum-oppa?
Host – Yes from now on you can call me Jjookeumi-oppa. I think this will continue from now on as octopus, I have a cold sweat now because of this talk. Now time for Jihae-ssi.Jihae – Yes
(Yura – Jihae-ya~ Jihae-ya…)
Host – Born in 1989, May 14th. You graduated 2002 from Seoul Daedeuk Elementary School. So what was Jihae-ssi’s nickname from those days?Jihae – *starts singing* Red-haired Ann~ A cute girl~
(Korean version of the anime Akage no Ann - Anne of green gables)
Minah – I’m sorry.
Hyeri – It’s so different hehe.
Minah – Red-haired Ann.
Host – Ahh Red-haired Ann. Not cute girl, up to Red-haired Ann.Jihae – Yes. Oh that’s very depressing.
Hyeri – *acting older* Yo Red-haired Ann, why do you only wear skirts?
Jihae – Exactly like that. These kinds of sunbaes gave me this nickname.
[T/N: Sunbae = higher grade, or senior or some organization]
Host – Hyeri-ssi, you fit the sunbae role so well.Hyeri – Really?
Minah – She did that several times before.
Host – So red-haired Ann, Why was it Red-Haired Ann?Jihae – During that time, dyeing your hair was the big trend. Or putting bridges in your hair.
Sojin – Ohh that’s right.
Jihae – That was the thing, my mother was the fashion… the trend…
Sojin – Fashion King.
Jihae – Before that became trendy, she dyed my hair not thick red, but a wine colored.
Sojin – She has good sense.
Jihae – My hair was long, after putting waves in it, after the wine colored dyeing and under the sun it looked completely red.
Hyeri – Of course to regular people.
Jihae – So whenever I passed by the sunbaes would be like, “Hey look it’s Red-haired Ann passing”.
Minah – Of course, whenever you had some pretty or something eye-catching the girl sunbaes would be extremely mean.
Sojin – It’s the day you get called out.
Minah – Yeah, the day you get called into the bathroom.
Host – Recently there are lots of cases like that in Elementary school nowadays.Group – So many, yes yes.
Host – It didn’t happen during my time.Sojin – Oh really?
Host – Nothing like that for me.Minah – Maybe just having no dyeing?
Sojin – Nope! Like the time around, octopus… Mr. Octopus and I.
Yura – Mr. Octopus, ahahahaha~
Sojin – Jihae-yang was just a baby during that time. What Jihae-yang is saying is correct. The guys had shaved sports cuts. And like Sechskies-sunbaenims, they grew out their front hair
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/6JB6s.jpg)
Real spiders on your hair.
Minah – Right right.
Sojin - Only dying that hair.
Yura – Unni that... how did you know that…
Host – Yes around middle school.Sojin – Isn’t it?
Host – Ponytail hair.Minah – Yes ponytail hair, put one in the back.
Sojin – Right, Kim Byung Ji-ssi’s. Yes.
Kim Byung Ji
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/tBWIw.jpg)
[Seems like he was a football player that had that nickname, only gives me mullet pictures though]
Host – And when you couldn’t get it dyed for school, there was color spray.Group – Right! *clap clap clap*
Host – Yes do you remember that, color spray?Sojin – That was really long time ago.
Host – And Sojin-ssi instead of Mr. Octopus, Octopus MC, or oppa, if you all could.Group – Hehe Mr. Octopus. Mr. MC Octopus. MC Jjoon.
Host – I would prefer If you would call me MC jjoon from now on.Yura – Octopus oppa.
Host – Now Red-haired Ann, Jihae-ssi.Hyeri – I think this nickname fits her well.
Minah – It’s pretty.
Yura – Red-Jihae.
Host – Probably your mother had a great sense for fashion that she would help dye your hair like that.Jihae – Back then mom had the same hair color as me.
Group – *laughter*
[15:00]
Sojin – Maybe there was some leftover.
Host – Elementary days, matching hair color with your mother.Yura – Couple.
Jihae – Yes we both had long hair, we went together to the hair salon. We dyed it together. After dad saw us, he was like “The two of you, what happened to you both?!”
Host – So your father could not keep up with your mother’s fashion.Jihae – Also he said, “What about my hair?”
Yura – Oh he was sulking hehe.
Host – So was disappointed you and your mother did it together only. He wanted to do it to. Go to work with that red hair. Yes for our last person.Group – dodoong! Dadada
Minah – I’m so curious~
Host – Born in 1986, May 21st Park Sojin-yang’s Elementary school, what was your nickname?Sojin – Everyone had beautiful nicknames during elementary school.
Minah – Beautiful you say?
Sojin – I think those days, nicknames are cute. In those days, you put something with your last name if only one part of the word fits it sticks like that. For me it wasn’t like that. Weirdly in this program the topic of my appearance comes up a lot.
Hyeri – Why why why.
Sojin – I was Bushman.
Group - *laugh*
[Movie in 1980’s comedy movie called ‘The Gods Must be Crazy’
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushmen]Sojin – My skin was really dark. I didn’t go outside the house much, but played the longest time on the roof until the sun sets. My face was really, like a native African, it was really dark. It was a complex for me even when I grew up. Eyes are big, mouth is big. All the guys kept calling me Bushman to tease me. I couldn’t even ride the hagwon* car (*private schooling outside public education) because I felt so ashamed.
Host – Yea also for Sojin-ssi because your eyes were big, even when you had darker skin more focus on your eyes, could be…Sojin – Yes. If you look at black people you can see a lot of their eyes and teeth. Since my face was dark and big, I had that kind of face during those days.
Hyeri – You mentioned there was an episode because of that guy that called you Bushman.
Sojin – Yes, because of that guy the place was a long distance away, I only walked.
Host – So what happened?Sojin – Because of that teasing was so bad, but soon after I learned it was an expression of interest. So later he bought me a pencil box and said, “it is okay, lets ride the hagwon car together again”.
Hyeri – Aw so cute~ In elementary school, you tease people you like.
Host – That’s true.Minah – Aren’t you secretly bragging?
Sojin – Yes? I received a pencil case.
Host – Received a pencil case.Hyeri – That’s the best in elementary school.
Jihae – Wow a girl that received a pencil case.
Host – If the teasing becomes too harsh, I had a case once; I made someone transfer schools before. There was a girl that I liked.Sojin – Did you really like her?
Host – Yes I really did like her. I did like icecakey* and like taking off her pants. At that time I did those kinds of pranks.Group – *GASP* HOW COULD…
[T/N* – icecakey is an exclamation phrase that little kids make when playing a joke lifting a girl’s skirt]
Sojin – In the past, I hit a guy friend who did that once.
Minah – Me too.
Host – That’s why I got hit that one time.Minah – Was it that person?
Host – That friend, I won’t reveal her real name of course, when she was looking at the chalkboard, I slowly crept up on her and pulled down her pants, everything went down.Group - *gasp*, In elementary school.
Minah – DE DO DEEE *sfx*
Host – Yes. I was shocked too. And two weeks later, she transferred out. I felt so sorryGroup - *GASP!*
Sojin – She must have been really sad. Please apologize now.
Jihae – That must be a painful memory for her.
Host – To my friend that I did the prank on, I’m so sorry. With my childish thoughts, when I really liked you. But why is this suddenly focusing on me?Minah – I know~!
Host - This broadcast if for girls. Yes?Sojin – ahahaha He is the MC.
Minah – We got absorbed in the mood.
Host – Anyway we learned about your nicknames. Let’s revisit some memories during elementary school. First Hyeri-ssi, you wrote down here there were moments where you spoke up to your parents and was punished, what happened exactly?Hyeri – Yes. Honestly I don’t have many memories of being scolded by my parents when I was young. There aren’t many. But a long time ago, when I was really young, I don’t remember if it happened in kindergarten or elementary school, mother and father were both working. I grabbed my younger sibling’s hand, we lived in like a country-side town, and we crossed a bridge and went to play in the neighboring town. But back then we had no phones, and you had nothing, and since it’s in the countryside after 6 o clock it becomes dark. There were no lights, and we became lost. Then I realized this is a big problem, even bringing my younger sibling with me. Our mother made a huge fit searching for us everywhere, back then I lied to her that my friend lived here.
[20:00]
Hyeri – But I really just came over there for no reason. That moment I was severely punished. And after that I never went out to the neighboring towns.
Jihae – I had a similar instance like this too.
Hyeri – Really?
Jihae – Yeah.
Host – What kind did you have Jihae-ssi.Jihae – For me, I was the ‘Alley Boss’
Host – Alley Boss Red-haired Ann.Jihae – Yes that was when I was very young, around kindergarten. Taking all the neighborhood oppas in a group together and we went over to play to a neighboring house.
Hyeri – Neighboring town ya.
Jihae - I also lived in the countryside, there was a railroad crossing, I thought if you passed that it became North America.
Group – LOL.
Jihae – For real. I wanted to crossover once with my strength, so taking the oppas, two of them, so I took them over and crossed it. After crossing it, I was like ‘Wow this is like NEW NEW World’. Being amazed by it, and those two oppas were playing around and they abandoned me. I thought I couldn’t make it back to Korea.
Host – Of course, you need a passport to come from America.Jihae – So I went to the police station.
Hyeri – It must’ve been hard.
Minah – At such a young age~
Jihae – I only had 500 won on me at the time.
Hyeri – I waited for my mom there as well.
Jihae - Waiting at the police station.
Hyeri – But when you’re young, I only crossed a small bridge. Even passing a railroad crossing that must have been a big thing. An adventure~
Jihae – For me it was America hehe.
Yura – An adventure for me was going over to someone’s house, to a stranger lady’s house I didn’t know, so always on the town speakers it was ‘Kim Ah Young child, we’re looking for Kim Ah Young’s mother, Kim Ah Young child, please pick her up.’
Host – You went over to stranger’s apartments or houses?Yura – In the street I would be like, ‘Oh hello ahjumma~’ and she would be like ‘it’s you again! Do you want to eat?’ ‘Yes~!’
Host – I will translate her words again.Yura – If that lady would ask me if I wanted to eat, I would just eat.
Hyeri – That’s a bad lady.
Yura – Because she’s a neighborhood ahjumma same apartment, why are you like this?
Host – At that time it was in the countryside, Hyeri-ssi lived in Jeonrado.Hyeri – It’s Kyungkido.
Host – Oh Kyungkido, didn’t you mention it was Jeonrado?Hyeri – In Kyungkido Gwangju.
Host – Oh… Kyungkido Gwangju, I thought it was in Jeonrado Gwangju.Hyeri – You’re not on top of your game today.
Yura – Because he’s Mr. Squid ^^.
Host – So Yura-ssi is Ulsan. Where were you Jihae-ssi?Jihae – I lived in Seoul, but the place I was bo… sun … born was in Choongchungdo.
Host – Your hometown is Choongchungdo, and in kindergarten went to America with oppas. Looking at this Hyeri-ssi, the friend you wanted to see most from elementary school days was? Kim Dambi. It is written so. Did you go to the neighboring town with her?Hyeri – I told you I went with my younger sibling!
Host – Ahh younger sibling.Hyeri – Today you’re having trouble talking.
Host – Maybe I’m not hearing okay with these headphones. You lived practically together with Dambi-ssi before?Hyeri – Yeah we practically did live together. Her… when school ended she came over, slept at our place and went to school together.
Jihae – What a coincidence, I had a friend like that too.
Hyeri – Oh really? My dad really liked her, even now, he likes her more than me.
Host – You’re in contact with her still today?Hyeri – Yes yes.
Minah – Maybe, you know if you watched MBC’s ‘Unstoppable Highkick’ (Season 2) a character like Bum-ee. Bum-ssi.
Hyeri – Ahah, you’re so right. I thought that too while watching the show. She’s like that as well. She’s more familiar with my family, and when we have a big fight, like we’re best friends and we fight the most as well, something like that you know. She’s doing well nowadays too.
Host – Hmm… ok, and also if you had a time machine to back to elementary school, you chose 6th grade Hyeri-ssi.Hyeri – Oh continuously my talk? Hehehe.
Host – We’ll wrap up with this one.Hyeri – Yes yes yes.
Host – ‘6th grade was the best grade’ What was the best?Hyeri – I didn’t really have a certain time I wanted to go back, I think that part was the happiest and fun time.
Host – That time was 6th grade. No one telling you what to do.[T/N – Elementary school 1-6th]
Jihae – Didn’t you say you were the class president?
Minah – OHHH.
Host – Class President, how did you get picked back then?Hyeri – Election…
Minah – Appearance?
Hyeri – You get picked through an election. Hehehe.
Jihae – You did not say like, ‘Ohh I’ll give you grass field’.
Hyeri – I don’t remember well, but I think I made a big commitment hehe. I did lots of school activities, broadcasting club, newspaper club, went around all of them, even doing the track club.
[25:00]
Hyeri - So I guess I got noticed by a lot of my friends, juniors and teachers. Yeah I just got assigned to it.
Host – Very good. Time to move on to someone struggling with her tailbone while being bored, to Sojin-ssi. Sojin-ssi, in your elementary school days, your happiest moment you wrote was going to the culture museum with your mother.Sojin – It was the Culture-Arts Museum. There are facilities like that in each region and city; I think I have seen every art piece. She took me during the weekends. At that time I did Seohae(???) as well, not really hoping I would do it, but we’ll have a look and see what happens.
Host – Did you have a big interest towards the arts?Sojin – Not like having big interests but just it was natural, looking at these pieces, meditating and imagining things came naturally.
Host – Do you have any memorable artists?Sojin – I don’t remember names.
Host – Any pictures?Sojin – Yes I can think of pictures.
Host – What kinds of pictures did you see?Sojin – Almost… I saw lots of abstract pieces of arts. If not, something three-dimensional, made physically, I saw lots of pieces. On-the-spot pieces as well ParkJoongHee(?????) things like that, I saw them make stuff as well.
Hyeri – Looking at that, Sojin-unni has a strong understanding[?Audio blarg] of abstract art.
Host – In what ways?Hyeri – Her great imagination and she’s full of ideas. She overflows with sense, she would guess the original artist’s intentions like ‘Ah so this means that.. I see’.
Host – So she’s probably good at drawing as well then?Sojin – I’m not that great, for me…
Hyeri – Good at expressing!
Sojin – I think I’m a unique case hehe.
Host – You said your dream in elementary school as a pianist?Sojin – When you’re young if you take piano lessons you want to become a pianist. You know, like practicing violin become a violinist; if you’re good at singing become a vocalist. I don’t know why I thought like that, but when I was between 3 and 5 years old was Jeombo(?)
Host – Jeombo you say?
Flying Sojin to the rescue!Sojin – There’s a baby elephant that flies with ears.
Group – AHHH JEOMBO, BABY ELEPHANT JEOMBO~ Ah momentarily I thought…
Sojin – That’s what I wanted to be.
Group – So envious. So unique!
Host – Next is, in your elementary school days, you passed out pictures to your friends.Sojin – There were a lot of episodes, I’ll go with a light one. I think I was unique. Really at home I just drew lots of stuff on A4 paper. I made up characters on the paper, in one piece of paper there are around 30 characters, there were simples ones like round circles with just eyes and nose, but I would ask my dad to… make 50 copies of it for me. I was the class representative of my class. And I would say, ‘I’m only passing this out to the quiet kids’. So I passed them all out. And all the kids wanted a copy so they were quiet!
Host – The beginning of the artist Park Sojin’s personal career.Hyeri – So impressive.
Minah – My friend was really skillful, and that friend drew well, so that person would draw and sell them! Sell them for 200 won, or for good pictures 500 won, and so-so ones for 100-200 wons. So our school teacher put a stop on his selling.
Host – No business in school.Yura – For me it was like this, on colored paper I would write ‘Paper folding competition: invitation to our house, requirements: scissors etc.’ I gave out to the students. So 10 students would come, I would say ‘So now we will start~ The best paper folder I will give that person a present’. I opened a competition. I remember them trying their best, I have those memories.
Sojin – I think we’re unique.
Minah – Next question please.
Host – If that’s so… one moment.Minah – Out of questions?
Host – Ok for Sojin-ssi you never caused trouble during elementary schoolSojin – I never made trouble, getting punished…
[30:00]
Minah – Isn’t it just your own thoughts?
Sojin – Yes it could be. A moment ago when Jihae and Hyeri was talking about going over to neighboring towns, a memory popped up but it was when I was very young.
Host – Before elementary school.Sojin – Yes, before then I was a troublemaker, after becoming an elementary school student, I never got into trouble.
Host – For Sojin, you were a very mature child that was good to her parents.Minah – She’s not reacting!
Sojin – It’s okay.
Host – For Sojin-ssi, she says that she began to make trouble after 6th grade. Now for Ulsan’s Ahyoung-ssi, born in 1992 on November 6th, I was born on November 5th birthday.Yura – Oh really?
Host – Yes, so it says here you were punished a lot by your parents because of… prank calls. What kind of calls did you make?Yura – The most memorable call was, when sunflower seeds, those chocolates I wanted to eat with my cousin, I didn’t have 500 won at that time. As a joke I called anybody, ‘Please give me 500 won~’
Host – What was the reaction?Yura – That time a kid younger than me picked up and said, ‘Wah it’s a hobo! A hobo!’ I still remember that. Then that kid’s parents would say, ‘Hello, who’s this?’ back then we didn’t have Caller ID, ‘What is your phone number?’ and you were supposed to say, ‘Not telling~’ but I was stupid and said, ‘936….’ Then I told them our number! So they called back to my parents and I was scolded a lot. ‘DDAEK[SFX of hitting] YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO ASK YOUR PARENTS IF YOU WANTED 500WON’.
Host – Did you parents buy those sunflower seeds?Yura – Nope.
Host – Just scolded, our next recording I’ll buy some sunflower seeds for you.Yura – Yay!
Jihae – She’s enjoying it~ x2
Minah – Aww that must be nice… [envious tone]
Host – It says here your dream in elementary school was an actress. Right now you debuted as an actress yes? Right now in China with Jang Woo Hyuk-ssi, can you introduce your role for us?Yura – Okay, the character’s name is Yubin. She’s has a crush on a Chinese actor, a very cute evil girl role, the character is alone calling ‘Siyoung-ah Siyoung-ah’ a very noisy character, we did our best.
[What is this sad tone T.T]
Jihae – What is the title?
Yura – Secret Angel.
[What the…Korean with Chinese subs… I thought it would be in Chinese, LOL]
Host – Yes Secret Angel. Is it being aired right now?Yura – Yes up to episode 4.
Host – Looks like you manager is here to record a video.Sojin – Wow all of you are the current people.
Somebody – Why?
Sojin – In our days, nobody wrote down actor or singer for their dream job.
Yura – Why?
Sojin – Not really a ‘why’ but, I think this became a general thing nowadays. During my days nobody wrote actor or singer down.
Minah – What about MC Squid, do you relate?
Host – For me my dream since elementary school was an actor. So I made that dream come true.Sojin – Wow that’s amazing. Really amazing. For us, saying that you wanted to become a singer or a talent was a shameful thing to say. Maybe a bit back talking, ‘Hey that person wants to become one’.
Group – It was the same for me. x3
Sojin – Oh Really?
Minah – It’s like, not something you could brag about, but I did express it.
Sojin – Even thinking about becoming one was unimaginable for us. That you could become one in your lifetime was unrealistic.
Minah – When did you have such a sense of reality…
Sojin – This is really amazing. I feel like a really old person now. Are these today’s kids right now.
Yura – A very cute thing, becoming an actor if you look at those historical dramas, I really wanted to wear a hanbok.
[T/N: Hanbok is traditional Korean clothing]
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/xSAj6.jpg)
So QT.
Yura – I played a lot with my cousins, because I didn’t have any siblings. So I would take the bedspread and cover myself and say, ‘Mama~’ have you ever done that before?
[T/N: Refer to Queen]
Minah – I have done it before. Do you know Vectorman?
Sojin – Ah yes the one with Kim Sung Soo-ssi.
Minah – Yes I was the Red color role, the princess role we gave to cousin unni.
[Bectomaaaaaaaaan, Bectomaaaaaan
VECTORMAN TIGER MINAH.]
[35:00]
Sojin – Good job.
Minah – Don’t you think so?
Hyeri – So kind!
Sojin – So nice, conceding that role and all
Host – Looking at this, in memorable episodes part you wrote down when being punished it says, ‘With a boy’, dot dot dot. What does this mean?Yura – In elementary school, anyone would have a situation like this, with a guy kids, most school had expenses (????), and did you all ever have a fight..?
Sojin – Nope.
Minah – Yes I had once.
Yura – Not like real fighting, but you know, cutting up someone’s eraser’s, throwing stuff around, when I’m sitting down, someone would hit me in the back and I ask, ‘why did you hit me’. Responding, ‘you said you wanted to be hit’, and saying ‘what when?’, ‘look it says here, please hit me once right there.’ And then in the written on a post, ‘Please hit me once’. So later I would get my revenge. I would cut down my eraser very small, make it look like dandruff on their heads, did those kinds of pranks.
Host – That’s right, you get lots of stress from that.Minah – It’s fun at first, but when it stacks up… the guy would get so angry and then would punch you. Then end up crying ‘Uhh~’.
Sojin – Thinking about it I fought with a guy once. This guy liked me a lot, we used our fists. Really we fought like that. That time I was tall, around Minah’s height.
Minah – Why, why me??
Sojin – Then he was slightly shorter.
Yura – Aha, in elementary school.
Sojin – My height right now is same back in elementary school. So I’m tall and the guy is smaller. I’m winning; ‘OH SSI* YOU MESSING WITH ME?’ and that made him mad, so I fought a guy once. I never fought with girls before, but I did fight with a guy once.
[*T/N: just sound effect okokokok]
Yura – Normally girls have a faster growth rate during elementary school, they were all shorter than me. Whenever we fought, I would win.
Sojin – Don’t guys normally refuse fighting with girls?
Yura – They have a boiling point though.
Jihae – If you keep angering them, they would fight.
Yura – They’re like this, ‘WOOOSH’ like that?
Sojin – That guy provoked me.
Yura – Like kicking the desk.
Host – For me since I never hit a girl before.Yura – Lies.
Jihae – But you took off their clothes.
Group – AHHHHH AHHHHH, WOOOOO~
Host – Is this broadcast going out as 19+?Minah – Yeahhh like it~
Sojin – Recently Minah she become 20 [Counting Lunar New Year]; she flares up in passion sometimes.
Minah – Ahh it’s not so!
Sojin – We can’t talk 19+
Yura – Minah, you gotta do that, ‘OH~’
Minah – Oh~
Hyeri – She’s talking to the (sound) engineer-oppa right now.
Minah – Oh~ YEAH!
Host – The broadcast is becoming quite peculiar right now.Minah – YOO HOO! I feel talkative today.
Host – Now we’ll talk about, flaring up Minah-ssiYura – Minah-ssi~
[This Aegyo man, omgad]
Host - Who recently became 20, who love to talk about 19+ topics, Minah-ssi question is next. Looking at your most enjoyable memory during elementary school is ‘your mother was the food distributor’.Minah – What felt really good was, when your mom makes the yummy food, you would say to your friends, ‘my mom’s making the chicken drumsticks’, it looks good for you.
Host – Brag about it.Minah – Yes that too, I felt really happy then. Feeling proud of mom, holding the chicken leg in your hand.
Yura – Hahaha! I think I understand.
Sojin – Really good.
Host – In elementary school days, one would like their moms to come, but when middle school comes around one would feel a bit shamed, because of puberty.Minah – Ahh that’s right.
Host – And after high school passes, now I’m this age I feel great together with my parents, go on trips with them and such. Ok we talked about being food distributor; also it seemed you were scolded a lot by your parents in elementary school. The ‘Dalgona’ incident. I think many people would have similar experiences, can you tell us about your story.[*See Youtube Vid on top!]
Minah – Of course. With my older sister, we want to eat some
![](/mirror/smilies/shiny.gif)
algona, we had the ingredients we tried making it but the ladle burned. That day we got grounded, I promised my friends I would meet them at the playground, but… hehehe.
Sojin – Promised to meet at the playground~ hehe.
Minah – I remember being stuck in the veranda watching my friends play from afar.
Hyeri – Oh so sad~
Yura – Really T.T
[40:00]
Sojin – When you’re young, that’s a big deal.
Minah – It was a corridor access veranda, there was a small hole like this. In between that I would put my head through and, ‘YA HAVING FUN?’ You can go down any minute from the 6th floor, I was so scared from my mom saying I was grounded; I couldn’t go beyond the corridor.
Group – So cute, really~
Host – There was another… ‘English Hakwon Water Incident’.Minah – Because I hated going to English Hakwon, I would say to the English teacher, ‘Teacher, I’m sick!’ so I didn’t go. Saying I was sick with chicken pox, when the Korean teacher picked up, saying.. ‘teacher I have chicken pox all over my body, I have mosquito like stuff I said I couldn’t go. I made Kimchi fried rice for myself having fun watching some cartoons. Then mother using her foresight sense, she called the neighbor ahjumma to check. Then she was checking my neck, but there was no mark on my neck for chicken pox, so she was made an excuse for me saying ‘Oh Minah got allergy from our house dog, and very ticklish right now’ there was an incident like that. That time mom gave me a blind eye once.
[Sidenote: <3 Kimchi fried rice.]
Yura – So you lied about having chicken pox.
Sojin – When did you learn about chicken pox?
Minah – When I was in kindergarten I was sick with chicken pox once, it was a real big sickness for me, so after that I only knew chicken pox.
Hyeri – But if you get it once, you don’t get sick again though.
Minah – Exactly.
Sojin – I heard some people get it twice too.
Hyeri – Oh really o.o
Minah – But even knowing that, I lied about it. Since my teacher didn’t know about chicken pox, so saying ‘I had chicken pox’…
Sojin – You didn’t go.
Hyeri – You must thank your neighbor ahjumma.
Host – To the ahjumma who showed you kindness right now, how about a message for her?Minah – I still remember, Soojin-ee unni ahjumma! Ahjumma that time thank you for closing your eyes. I want to go your house and eat your porridge again. I will meet you soon, I love you~.
Host – Oh she has a porridge restaurant?Minah – Yes.
Host – Where is this?Minah – It’s in Incheon, but she’s still my next door neighbor haha.
Hyeri – Oh no!
Host – Running a porridge house in Incheon, Soojin-ee unni ahjumma. Porridge house.Minah – Her porridge is the best. For other people she would put in 2-3 bird eggs in their pumpkin porridge, but she gives me 7!
Hyeri – Wah that’s double.
Minah – That’s daebak yo.
Host – The 3.5 times love, giving other people 2 but giving you 7. Yes hehe. Looking again you made another accident.Minah – Again?
Yura – A troublemaker!
Host – Says here you lost the broadcasting club’s camera.Minah – Yes, in elementary school I was the broadcasting club, we were shooting something, (*mystery snort*) it’s rare seeing a child holding on a camcorder, while I was holding on to it, I lost it. All 5 of us were together, but it turned out all the responsibility fell on me. So mom had to pay to the school 200,000 won. But at that time, 200,000 that was so huge amount of money, I felt that our house would fail because of me. So from that guilt, I didn’t eat snacks for 3 months. Because I was so sorry.
[200,000 KRW = 176 USD]
Sojin – You were a child that had strong ability to maintain your life.
Minah – Since then, I’m scared of losing things.
Host – Of course, an elementary school student losing their snack can compare to an adult, is tougher than giving up alcohol and smoking. During that time.Hyeri – So impressive.
Host – You gave up sweets like chocolates snacks and ice creams. Giving that up.Minah – I’m still scared by that.
Host – So Minah-ssi’s elementary school days Captain Gas Bang Minah-ssi’s elementary school days are, a bit accident prone.Hyeri – Prankster~
Host – Had many accidents, says here you wanted to become a singer since elementary school.Minah – Yes. The first time I dreamed of becoming a singer was seeing BoA-sunbaenim’s stage and seeing DBSK sunbaenims, saying that I will join that company, but looks like I’m right here. Tada~
Host – You are satisfied being here together?Minah – Yes of course, I’m satisfied. Not long ago we shared a stage to sunbaenims that I dreamed of so…
Host – You said several times on broadcast that you were a DBSK fan. Yes from a troublemaker into a girl that made her dream come true, it turned out well. Minah - *kkkk….*
[T/N – This is a sound effect of being awed or impressed, used very often]
Host – Now time for Jihae-ssi you have waited a long time.Jihae – ‘yawn’ It’s still not over eh?
Sojin – Wake up~
Host – We’ll finish up today with this, now Jihae-ssi a happy memory from school gathering days is, when you taught other kids choreography.[45:00]
Jihae – When I was school gatherings, I could not do the dance I wanted to alone I think I taught everyone.
Sojin – There are kids like this.
Host – Choreography.Jihae – Yes.
Hyeri – What did you teach them?
Jihae – Back then, they’re not promoting nowadays but Papaya songs.
[First time listening, this song is nice :>, this chorus is siqq good wow thx Jihae :D OH GOD DIS CGI XD]
Host – Ah Papaya. Who is that?Jihae – 5 person group? Pretty 5 people or something.
Sojin – Isn’t Sohee-ssi from Papaya?
Jihae – Nonono, I don’t think so.
Host – Since then you seemed to be interested in dance Jihae-ssi?Jihae – Since I was young, I watched lots of music programs. I tried copying their dances and stuff, I wanted to do them but dancing alone would be embarrassing. So first I would get the kids who refused and say ‘try once’ and then compliment them saying they were doing well.
Host – Started to lead them.Jihae – Yes, so we danced in those school gatherings.
Host – Looking here, during elementary school you were never punished.Hyeri – She must have!
Yura – I bet she was a lot.
Sojin – ‘Listen to my words’, ‘Making love’~
Jihae – Yeah that’s right.
Minah – What…
Hyeri – She’s talking about Papaya right now.
Yura – I thought unni was saying listen to me hehe.
Host – I was wondering what Sojin-ssi was doing with her phone but you were looking up Papaya.Jihae – The dances were really cute like this.
Minah – Yayayaya.
Yura – I said Bushman, but not much of it got out hehehe.
Host – Bushman…Jihae – *starts singing* ‘The sky is… nanananana?’ Agh what was it. There was a song like that.
Host – I want to record and send it. So did you listen to your parents well?Jihae – Yes during those days I listened to them well, I lived with an older cousin unni and we fought a lot.
Host – With a cousin unni.Jihae – She’s 10 years older than me. If the different is too big…
Sojin – It’s hard to fight with each other.
Jihae – I think we fought like every day. ‘Are you wearing my clothes, isn’t that mine, was this yours.’
Group – With a 10 year difference?
Host – Are you going somewhere? You surprised me. Looking at this, if you rode a time machine to elementary school days you would go back to 5th grade. Why 5th grade?Jihae – During 5th grade, I don’t have any memories with my friends.
Minah – Because you want to meet them again.
Jihae – I studied abroad at that time. After studying abroad I finished the last 2 months of 6th grade with my friends. But then my friends would ostracize me.
Sojin – Because you’re not familiar anymore.
Jihae – Yeah not familiar, since I got so used to living outside of Korea, I started conversations with English, even though I was in Korea. The other’s would be ‘Jeomshim siganeeda!’ and I would be like, ‘Oh its Lunch Time.’
Minah – An elementary student?!
Jihae – Yeah the kids hated it. Even about the bus. If I say ‘You got to ride the *Bus’. They hated it. So the kids would follow me whenever I go to the bathroom and talk quietly amongst them. And then I would be like, ‘Hey guys look at my dance :D’ and they would really like that.
[*T/N – Bus in Korean is in two syllables, BuhSeu 버스]
Hyeri – She has no awareness skills! Can’t tell they don’t like her.
Host – So Jihae-ssi overcomes being ostracized with her low awareness. If she was aware she would have felt sad, but because she had no awareness it wasn’t a big problem. Also, it says your friend, Yu(?) Ah In, best friend do you still meet with her today?Jihae – Nope, not anymore.
Host – No you don’t, I see. Why not?Jihae – We lost contact. We kept in touch until high school; I don’t know what she’s doing at the moment.
Host – Could you say a word Ah-In.Yura – Real name is Yu Ah In?
Host – Ryu* Ah In.Jihae – It’s Ryu Ah In.
Minah – You had me confused with the current drama Fashion King’s Yu Ah In hehe.
Jihae – Oh nonono.
*chitter chatter*
Minah – Oh really? Do you know her in person?
Jihae – Ah nono.
Minah – Aw shucks.
Host – To Ah-in.Jihae – A video message?
Host – No video right now, just audio at the moment.Jihae - Ahin-ah I don’t know how you’re doing right now, 010.. momomo-momomomo please call me.
Sojin – Do you twitter?
Yura – Follow her~
Host – If you leave your phone number in the podcast reviews, Jihae will check and give you a call.Jihae – We even pretended we were twins.
Sojin – Because you looked alike?
[50:00]
Jihae – Because we looked so similar, mom liked her a lot too. We did lots of same things, same hair style, hair pins.
Host – Ahin-ssi dyed her hair red too?Jihae – Not that. After that mother cut my hair, she cut it short. At that time she had short hair too, after that we became friendly.
Yura – I suddenly thought of something while on the topic of short hair, that Hyeri doesn’t like tying her hair up so she wants to cut it short. Please talk about it Hyeri-ssi~
Hyeri – Ahhh… You know, that was when I was younger than elementary school, I cried so much. I couldn’t sleep at night, always sleeping in the afternoon and ‘RAWR’ screaming in the nighttime, didn’t listen and made trouble saying ‘I hate this!’ and one time when mom was tying my hair I said ‘Nono I’m not tying my hair!’ and suddenly dad would say ‘Shave it’. Then suddenly I had my hair shaved, so all my younger pictures were like a guy.
Minah – AHAHAHAHA~ AHAHA~ HAHAHA
Yura – When she showed us those pictures, we were all KO’ed by the pictures.
Hyeri – ‘Where is Hyeri?!’
Sojin – You can’t find her.
Yura – Like her neck is very long and then the head is just, ding~.
Hyeri – They’re all like a guy.
Yura – So funny.
Hyeri – Was really tanned too.
Sojin – Almost like me.
Minah – Reminds me of Michael.
Michael.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/EbNNC.jpg)
[Doolee - Korean cartoon about a green dinosaur named Doolee and his search for his mom. Says in Wiki character was a motif for Michael Jackson.]
Hyeri – My neck was long, small neck, small lots of things.
Minah – Like an ostrich?
Host – Not Hyeri-ssi but Haejun-ee(?) days.Minah – Harry Potter! Harry Potter.
Host – Hyeri Potter days, with kkakka(idk) hair.Sojin – A surprising transformation.
Host – Going back, Jihae-ssi even while fighting with 10 year older cousin unni, she kept you safe.Jihae – During my red-haired days, I was picked on so much, I went home crying and unni says ‘Who was it’ while holding a rice paddle. Yeah while making rice, holding that paddle saying ‘who was it’, hitting me once saying ‘don’t cry anymore’.
Host – After a hit with that rice paddle.Jihae – Yeah. After going outside she gathered all those unnies. And talked to them, ‘Did you pick on Jihae? What grade and class are you in? You are all finished, get ready to be expelled from school tomorrow’. A warning! After that the unnies were scared of me.
Minah – Not treat you well just scared, ‘Oh it’s Jihae x.x’
Jihae – That unnie, really she’s an important person to me.
Host – Cousin Unnie. You don’t fight nowadays though?Jihae – Even now…
Host/Minah –
Still fighting?Jihae – Whenever we meet, she always nags at me ‘How are you going to live now!’ But it’s good now, I hope she finds a nice guy and gets married.
Host – She is not married yet.Sojin – Trying to change the subject from the nagging, hurry up and go married~
Jihae – Whenever we meet I would ask, ‘When are you getting married unni?’ then she would respond, ‘mind your own business’.
Host – Jihae-ssi unni is 34 years old, born in 79Jihae – Year of the sheep.
Host – Year of the sheep, hopefully she will meet someone good into marriage. Why don’t you introduce her to some guys Jihae-ssi?Jihae – Unni likes foreigners. Because she’s an English teacher.
Minah – She passed the railroad crossing~
Host – Passing that crossing, into America.Sojin – Take her once.
Minah – It’s so close~
Jihae – Her desire to learn is strong. If she says she wants to go somewhere, she goes on a trip the next day. On a trip overseas.
Host – So it’s not that she is not able to get married, because she chooses not to herself if it’s that point.Jihae – I wonder if she has a boyfriend…
Host – So far we talked about your elementary school days, not very long talking shortly. Huh, what are you doing right now? Are you dating Minah-ssi?Hyeri – 19+ ratings! Minah-unni.
Host – Because the listeners only have audio right now… You don’t know what they can imagine.Minah – She’s straightening out my clothes.
Host – Elementary school, now in order if you could summarize your elementary school days in 5 letters, for Lee Hyeri it would be? _ _ _ _ _.Hyeri – Yes. Um what did I write down?
Host – Sam Ri Yeon Ae In. (Sam Ri = hometown most likely, Yeon Ae In = Celebrity/Entertainer)Hyeri – Ah yes. Back then I was school president and it was countryside, so everyone knew me. So it’s Sam Ri Yeon Ae In.
Host – Would they really all know?Minah – I think I should change mine now.
Hyeri – So even my younger sibling became famous. When he *enrolled (She pronounces Ip-Hahk into Ip-Haek).
Host – Not ip-haek but ip-hak.Minah – AHA~
Hyeri – It was ip-haek in my neighborhood!
[55:00]
Host – Ah in Gwangju you say, did you enroll(ip-haek) in elementary school?Hyeri – Yes, I enrolled in elementary school. When he enrolled there were talks like, ‘Hey look that’s Hyeri’s younger sibling’. It was like that. So the 5th graders friends didn’t pick on my younger sibling.
Minah – My unni was the same way, saying don’t mess with her.
Hyeri – Really?
Minah – Yeah all older sisters are like that.
Host – Elementary student Bang Minah was. _ _ _ _ _.Minah – Elementary student Bang Minah was, a dream tree bank.
Host – Why was it a dream tree bank?Minah – For me I was confident in everything. I was good at running. I was the best at singing, dancing, being an announcer, using the camera, I felt like I could do anything.
Host – Elementary student Bang Minah, was like I am the best.Minah – Yes it was.
Host – Now next is Elementary student…Minah – Is this ending with me bragging about myself like this?
Yura – So this is how captain gas Bang Minah is a smarty pants.
Host – Troublemaker captain smarty pants. Oh no, it shouldn’t end like this. Elementary student Kim Ah Young, was a _ _ _ _?Yura – Mine was a bit long. Curious heaven troublemaker final boss.
Host – ‘That’ eh. Making those prank calls.Minah – The devil.
Hyeri – This doesn’t need explanation. ‘That’.
Yura – I was really like this. During elementary school I was curious about everything. A troublemaker…
Host – Ulsan’s troublemaker, going over to people’s houses for no reason.Yura – I was a very lively kid. Full of energy.
Host – Very energetic I see. Elementary student days Woo Jihae is…Jihae – Elementary student days Woo Ji Hae is, The girl boss.
Host – The girl boss. From those days. With protection from your cousin unni.Jihae – It wasn’t so. I had some ‘*kkang’ as well.
Minah – I heard from her, another nickname from her was ‘Woo kkang’, ‘Sae Woo kkang’
[T/N – Kkang can mean having boldness/guts. And Woo from her last name -> 'Sae Woo Kkang’ which is a popular Korean shrimp flavored snack.]
Saw Woo Kkang.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/jh2UA.jpg)
Minah – Woo Ji hae got Kkang, Woo Kkang yo.
Host – I think it shows a lot on stage as well.Minah – Oh really?
Host – You know showing stuff like that in your teaser and stuff dancing, in your respective roles.Jihae – Honestly I tried to hide that.
Minah – You can’t hide it unni, it all comes out.
Host – I hear there are 4 things you can’t hide. Love, cough, gas, and kkang.Sojin – Ohh, is that so.
Host – I just tried to make something up on the spot.Minah – Yea it felt like that.
Yura – It makes sense though.
Host – Yes I mentioned that, Sojin-ssi.Sojin – Yes?
Host – Please wake up from sleeping.Sojin – I’m not sleeping.
Host – Sojin-ssi, elementary school days, Park Sojin was.Sojin – For me I was a smart general.
Host – Intelligent General.Sojin – In those times, they say ‘So’ people, one can lead. (I think referring to that part of her name) I was overflowing with confidence. All the ahjummas in the stationary store in front of school, looking at me they told my mom, ‘Oh that’s a son’. Not like a girl that was shy and introverted, like a guy, dragging guys along, I had those kinds of guy qualities. I was a perfectionist, everything had to be perfect. After puberty it changed to the opposite, but I was like that in the past.
Host – Intelligent General. Leading as always, now the leader of Girl’s Day.Sojin – Well I’m not a leader right now, I’m just the oldest unni.
Host – Okay understood, we went through each of your elementary school days, are you all tired?Group – Yes…
Minah – NOPE!
Host – Right now, you have a schedule right after this.Hyeri – Yes because we started promoting, going to continue.
Minah – Yes well by having good conversations on this show…
Host – Jihae-ssi suddenly turned off the lights.Minah – What are you going to do~ x 2
Group – YEHHH, wahaha.
Yura – What did you just do?
Host – I tried acting, because I’m an actor.Minah – Always in character.
