This has been disappointing to watch as a huge fan of e-sports.

What made you respect djWHEAT before? Was he always appropriate or is he a type of guy who speaks from heart?
djWheat was always like this. I follow his stuff since forever and he was not disappointing for me in today's show.

Rapture started up with this idiotic chant and then immediately questioned how much time the gang spent talking about deMuslims tournament path. He was a chode bag who was taking too long to get to the point and being as rude as he could be getting there. djWheat took control of his own show and cut the dumbass off the air. Good work.

Rapture next time instead of starting with "Glory Rapture Rapture Rapture we shall all be saved" *oh what wait* "Can you hear me?" "Oh ok, we just spent a HUGE amount of the show talking about deMuslim and what did you place? What, 9th?"

Try: "Hey deMuslim nice work at Winter Arena, but aren't we a little too happy over a 9 place finish? Are we getting too complacent with mediocre results?"

And Wheat won't kick you off the damn show.

Wheat is a passionate man. I've seen him on the verge of tears before when he was talking about the early tournament days of Brood War, when they were happy to have a $25 prize pool. Now it's at $25,000. He doesn't take any bullshit when it comes to SC2 in general.

:D Life's tough in Somalia :D

I thought he was a good representation of the community. He CARED about playing games and what they were doing. The problem with what he did tonight is he went off on a caller. You don't do that on what is supposed to be a professional show for any sport including e-sports. You can disagree, defend your guests but you don't just scream, yell and curse at someone because you thought he was being a jerk to you and your guest. You cut him off, tell him to get to the point, say well thanks but that's not right because. You have to be the bigger man because it's your show and you're putting yourself out there. It's unfair and it sucks that people can be condescending jerks on your show but that's going to happen. My respect for him would've skyrocketed if he had calmly (or even slightly emotionally) called the dude out and said that's not right, you have a question ask it politely or not at all. Then explained why they were celebrating DeMuslim because he went further than he was supposed to taking out star Koreans and of course he was on the show. You can speak from your heart and be emotional about what you do and not be childish. I realize it's tough to constantly be under the microscope but that's a part of the job.
And then.... Trumpets

i'm not saying i disagree with you here, nor am i calling anyone down for anything but i feel like this reallllllly needs to be said, and listened to by everyone in the scene:

do you want to be "real people" or do you want to be professionals that are taken seriously? you can't have both. the vast majority of people will be completely and utterly turned off by being a "real person". SC and Esports in general is a niche thing, so a lot of times you'll get away with it. but that leaves you with two options:

either it stays niche (and by niche i mean tiny) or the people who can't hold back their "realism" are gonna get left behind.

it sucks that the world demands PC and positive, but it does. my $0.02

I love Wheat and I love ITG. I really do. But in today's show it appeared as if he was raging for the sake of raging.

Even before r4pture could finish his concern, Wheat went into aggressive mode by asking "where did you place then?" (he even immediately noticed the childishness of his behaviour, that's why he followed it up by "nevermind").

If he would be raging that hard (I mean he was yelling like a madman, come on...) about a very offensive or aggressive question, I'd be ok with it. In this case, it wasn't even clear whether r4pture had an offensive motive in mind. In fact, his concern was a very legitimate one and I would even share his view. If the foreigner scene aims to be considered on par with the korean one, a 9-12th place finish is not a great run. It might have been a great run for DeMuslim's himself and the expectations we had. It might have been great that he defeated some of the best (korean) players. It might have been a great run for a foreigner. But in a global perspective, where koreans and foreigners are treated and viewed in the same light, it has not been a great run, merely a good one.

r4pture's not the one who should be apologizing. If there was a need for an apology (which I don't think there is), it should be coming from Wheat.

To Wheat: Rage when there's a legitimate reason to do so, otherwise it comes off as childish behaviour and I usually consider you as one of the most mature, reasonable and passionate members of our beloved community. But still, we are human and as such are prone to making mistakes. This was (a minor) one on your behalf. Altogether you're still one of the greatest assets to esports.

Chill, i wouldn´t take it personal, seems like Wheat didn´t had the best day and you just appeared as an anonymous internet-troll, even though you may have had a valid question but couldn´t get it out the right way.

May i suggest a new signature for ya?

Given this representation competitive gaming (e-sports......) is a lot further away from worldwide exposure than people think.

These guys are always going off on random stuff, thats literally what the show (and SoTG) is about. Then you come here and talk about it. Seems successful. Don't see what the complaints are about really.

Lesson to be learned here: If you don't want to be treated like a troll, don't let the first words that leave your mouth be about "the coming of the rapture", and that you personally know the troll that just got cut off.
Average means I'm better than half of you.
