Biggest story was of course King getting the GOLD, they spent maybe 1/5th of the time they spent on Demuslum. DRG demolishing everyone even though he arrived to NYC same day with the tournament. Huk was 3rd. Idra was being Idra. Artosis/Tasteless reaction to King's win. Naniva beating Nestea again. They talked about some of this stuff for 20 seconds and some of them even didnt mentioned. Demuslim got half of the show. This was like talking about an NBA team that couldn't reach playoffs but beaten Lakers during the regular season. Ok, guy was kind of a jerk when he asked demuslim about his finish but apart from that I have seen nothing wrong in his language or question. Wheat's reaction was shocking to me. Unnecessary, extreme. If a predominant sc2 person does this much BM, community will go over the roof . I felt like Wheat choose to do smt this extreme just not to answer the question.

I was thinking "man this guy (Demuslim) is not even in top 8 and they dedicated half of the program to him". By the way he is not a special guest because of his success or anything, he used to be on this program couple of times so he is a filler for Idra. They were much more worthy stories which they didnt talked or talked like 2 minutes. Biggest story was of course King getting the GOLD, they spent maybe 1/5th of the time they spent on Demuslum. Guys, read this post.. this is what we have to deal with on a regular basis. He lists shit we spent a LOT of time talking about, as if we didn't mention it or spent 20 seconds. I personally made a huge issue out of half the things he said lol Anyone/everyone can post on the internet. Why is it those who should have the least to say typically say the most and with the most conviction? sigh A LOT of you need to calm down. It's funny watching people get upset at wheat for being passionate and then going overboard with their complaints making them "just as bad."

Wheat may have reacted a bit too fast and then vented a little too much, maybe not perfect but I don't think it is as bad as it is described here. I feel the community is much too eager to have drama and overreacts to a lot of things that happen. Basically the community is just doing what they accuse Wheat of doing, in my opinion. Edit: P.S.: Damn.. would have loved to hear the IdrA answer to the Goldlust question. tt

Newscasters and commentators get fired for things like that in real sports. And that's not me trying to be sensationalist or overreacting or anything, it's just straight up true. I know it's his show, but people always love to draw parallels to real sports, so the context is there.

How you can compare this situation to a TV news show is beyond me. That's now even apples and oranges anymore. That's apple and the crystal ball in the phantom menace

That's apple and the crystal ball in the phantom menace It's not a comparison NOW, I'm talking about the furthering of the idealistic "competitive gaming IS e-sports" mantra a lot of people love to push. Obviously Wheat's show isn't on national TV, but I have heard him and other people say their goal is to make that happen, and honestly this isn't the way. If we want to be a group of competitive gamers who bullshit around and give each other a hard time (which I think we are), then that's absolutely fine and what Wheat did is no big deal at all. But if people want to continue this idea of gaming as a sport watched by millions and not thousands of people then yes, there IS a comparison to be made if SC2 and other games will ever be shown on ESPN like some people hope to see one day. At this rate SC2's best hope is to show up on ESPN 8 The Ocho while Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn throw rubber balls at each other and a pirate with an identity crisis cheers them on.

Lots of shows on ESPN and other networks have personalities that throw on-air tantrums and generally have boisterous and loud personalities. It's entertaining, and it's part of the show's pull. Part of what makes djWHEAT awesome is his rants.

ok. Or.. Wheat, the most prolific host in all of eSports (not just SC2), the guy who has created/hosted more shows that have furthered eSports and gaming in general than anyone else MIGHT have a bit of an idea of what is better for everyone... he might. I know nvs. has an illustrious tradition of bashing hosts/shows/players in all threads and that surely makes him qualified to talk about where we need to go and how to get there but I am going to go ahead and assume the dude who has been making this his life for 20 or so years knows something in the realm of 100000x more on the subject and has DONE more and WILL do more than captain hate nvs. ![]()

There's tons of shows with call-ins and viewer questions where the hosts shit all over the person, even outright yelling at them. People like watching idiots get called out for being idiots, it was one of my favorite segments of the show. nvs. proclaiming the ruin of eSports and the lack of progression because of wheat's unrestrained passion. ok.
