I know it's his show, but people always love to draw parallels to real sports, so the context is there. Except that those news casters and commentators aren't on their own show doing it in an unregulated media space. So the "parallel" you thought you were drawing to real sports, isn't there.

Some call it "passion", I call it "grown man loses his shit and goes into rabid dog mode". Let's try to keep anger out of passion, m'kay?

I know nvs. has an illustrious tradition of bashing hosts/shows/players in all threads and that surely makes him qualified to talk about where we need to go and how to get there but I am going to go ahead and assume the dude who has been making this his life for 20 or so years knows something in the realm of 100000x more on the subject and has DONE more and WILL do more than captain hate nvs. Have to agree with this. I actually really love reading incontrols and idras posts on TL. They're almost always very interesting and informative, with just a slight hint of troll.
I often find them very..how shall I put it..passive aggressive. :p

rapture yes its a big deal when a foreigner places 6th place in a tournament or manages to take a series off of a korean player because we dont have the same training environment that they do.. its as if were matching up middleweight fighers against heavyweighters
we NEED to talk about these type of results because when one of us breaks throught it motivates/gives everyone else hope that they can achieve the same thing aswell, on top of that i feel like were pushing each others limits whenever one of us does well in a tournament, i love all the players and everyone of them is like a brother to me but when i see demuslim or any other foreigner beat a top korean or place well in a tournmanet i get jealous as fuck because i want me sum of dat glory too, it fuels me and i practice even harder so i can outdo everyone else, im sure all the othe players feel the same way aswell
edit: and i love djwheat

are vods out? i need to see this

Why didn't wheat deconstruct his point and own the guy? by flipping out and hanging up on him you are making rapture out to be a martyr of sorts for the trolls, you also complain about certain views or what you deem to be stupid opinions but fail to answer them head on. If you want people to refine their opinions about certain things within the community then you should be willing to listen to the opinions that you deem dumb and shut them down so people can reach the understanding that you claim to have.

Ya, I can't watch call-ins on any show, and I just turn it off. You can't screen the trolls very well and you get terrible call-ins every once in a while. I also get really embarrassed for everyone, and I don't know why. Of course if most people like them, PLEASE KEEP THEM! But ya, that's my opinion. Love the show! Love Wheat, iNc, PainUser, DeMu, IdrA!! Fighting!!

He hung up on the guy because he was being a prick, not because of the question he was trying to ask. Wheat even said that he would've dignified him with an answer if he had asked it differently.

Because the caller never delivered any coherent point to begin with. When you can't formulate your thoughts you are basically wasting everybody's time. Some are more articulate than others, which are certainly not to blame for it. However, if knowing you'll touch on a complex matter, you should be reviewing your question before asking. It's no rocket science, really. Think, then speak. Air time is limited.

Sugarcoating your disrespectful bullshit doesn't change that it's disrespectful bullshit. He was trying to say that they shouldn't be spending so much time on the fact that Demuslim placed 9-12, which is stupid not only because it was an objectively impressive performance (beating Nestea/Haypro/Grubby 6-2 and losing to Oz/viOLet, who are world-class vT), but also because they actually had the opportunity to talk to Demuslim about it. It would be a waste of an opportunity to NOT talk to Ben about his performance for the bulk of the show, it's rare that we get a chance to hear a player talk about a performance like that in that much depth.
Basically, the guy was asking a stupid question that's somewhat offensive, and he phrased it in a way that made it even worse. No reason to waste everyone's time listening to him act stupid, the call-in segment is weak enough as is.
Hopefully now people will think twice before calling in with stupid shit (haha who am I kidding, they won't)

So, i just watched that part too, and seriously when you are calling in a show, where noone knows your personality you have to try harder to be more on the point and making less "pokings" or trying to be cool or something.
It sounded like he wanted to prove himself next to the big guys which totally backfired.
And to be serious, all his congratulations and so on towards demuslim sounded kinda sarcastic, and after his "intro" those statements got cought up totally wrong (assuming he was serious...).
Im on DJ Wheats side, he HAD to talk back, he is the host, demuslim was his guest, u cant just let some random calls trashtalking your guests. Wheat made a great job and he totally got my respect for doing this.
The hangup was a little bit over the top though, wheat shouldve let him defend himself after his rant; but i still understand that in the moment.

sigh, i understand where the show hosts were coming from, but wheat was kind of immature...sometimes there's "too much passion"
that being said, the caller was pretty stupid
edit: watched some more, wheat articulated his feelings well, and incontrol's point about passive-aggressive sports shit talk made me switch sides.

Any idea when the mp3 version will come out on iTunes? Or are they being posted somewhere else now ? I used to enjoy listening to OMG podcasts while commuting to work. I've been missing out on my weekly Wheatage =(
The new SD and HD videos versions of OMG's podcasts are showing up properly on iTunes. (Although there is a big chunk of the Sundance interview missing from the SD version of LO3's ep#104).
It's just the MP3 versions of ITG, WOC, and LO3 that have not been updated in the past 3 months. Which makes me a sad panda =(

To be quite honest I just dislike the format of the show right now. I appreciate Wheat for trying to communicate with the community but it just isn't really worth it I feel to do it in this way. For one if they actually aren't a troll and have a question to ask,it usually takes time for them to get their point across and that is if they even have A POINT.There are occasional gems that come up on the show with really good questions but the same question could be asked via twitter or something.Idk,out of all onemoregame shows,Inside the game is the least one I look forward too every week, sometimes I don't even watch the vod until I have really nothing to do. I wish they would go away from this open phones show format,to a ask a question via twitter or something.
Its actually funny now that I think of it,I can't remember the last time there was a troll phone call on LO3,granted they don't do it nearly as often as on ItG and I'm sure there were some, but the show is very mature(well as mature as a show with slasher can be),with mature topics and discussions and as such attracts mature audience that call in. I love wheat and I'm not bashing you man just trying to give some feedback if it means something.
Oh and I know that the main theme of ItG is giving back to the community and bringing the progamers closer to it,but I don't think we are quite there yet for something like that to work in this way. One could say we do not have the technology....

To be honest, Everyone should see the last bit where especially Wheat and Incontrol answer the question what is hardest in the their job. It surfaces a bit of the emotion that wheat let go before at rapture. They start talking about it at 2:02, Wheats turn is at 2:13. You really should watch it
They disclaim it, by saying its still their dreamjob but simply answering to the negative side of their job. Its helpful before you opiniate on the rapture matter.
