Approaching players during their free time is not equivalent to a "meet and greet", and doing that did not require a VIP pass.

That, and just because you found it 'okay' doesn't make it so. A lot of people had valid complaints that were being censored by the organization. That in itself doesn't make it 'okay' for those people. What they did was fraud.

Man, I feel sorry for IPL.
Sometimes this shit happens in eSports. Not everybody's competent nor scrupulous in this scene, although the overwhelming majority are.

You're all definitely correct, and I should probably shut up now.![](/mirror/smilies/frown.gif) I just wanted to share my experience as someone who was actually there to say that the VIP was definitely not what I paid for, but I did have to present my pass in order to go inside the player's area where other people were also taking their photos/getting stuff signed. That's why I mentioned how I understand people's disappointment if they were expecting a table with "meet and greet" written on it but couldn't find one. You apparently just had to show your pass behind the stage to walk in the player's area. Just thought I'd clear that up, they should have told people what to expect instead of just "you get to meet/greet players".

I feel bad for the players/fans but in a sense I feel like IPL brought this on themselves. It seems like they completely rushed into this opportunity because it would be a cost effective method of running a tournament in the SEA/Kor region for IPL without having to worry about a lot of the logistics of running an overseas event. If they had a bit more involvement or knew a bit more about the people they were getting into bed with a lot of this could have been avoided. How was IPL/IGN Supposed to know Gus was going to do all these Shady things behind the scenes; well they obviously didn't know otherwise they wouldn't have contracted him.
But point being it's got nothing to do with IPL/IGN and more to do with the Shady Antics of a Snake like Gus.
IPL/IGN Provided the Sufficient funding purportedly Gus Pilfered it for Himself; i'm not surprised he did after him purposely cancelling/delaying the Plane Flight Bookings for YJY and the two Cube Players from Philipines who earned their Spots in the Tournament.
Coincidentally the Two Spots the Cube Players From Philipines had earned would have been against AZK members Both of which got a By because the Cube Players; Flights were Cancelled (By Gus AZK Manager/Team Leader/ Event Organizer)
So Conflict of Interest seems to pin the tail on the donkey.

Clearly TL hasn't learned its lesson about villifying people before giving them a chance to give their side of the story. It doesn't matter if you think he's 100% guilty, on principal you should give him his fair say before declaring him guilty. In both the EG/TSL and Major/Sixjax threads, people thought one party was 100% guilty until hearing the other side.
When these threads get so long the issue inevitably gets blown out of proportion and details get exaggerated left and right. At some point you have to ask the question whether some tournament in the Phililpines warrants all the attention and importance you are giving it.

The fact that the AZK CEO hasn't even tried to address these claims against himself is very strange. Somehow I think coming up with a reasonable explanation without admitting he was a complete con artist is hard to formulate for him.
The evidence against him coming from reputable sources in the SEA community and players is overwhelming. The more people in the esports community that hear about this, the better. He should not be a part of another esport related activity in the future if it can be helped. I really hope his team crumbles should even a small amount of those accusations be true and that his players all find another team to migrate to.
The amount of people hurt by his decisions is ridiculous. It saddens me as part of the SEA community that he has made esports in this region seem less legitimate, especially with the large scale IGN backing and apology that occurred. I can't blame IGN for their decision at all. I just hope that big sponsors don't shy away from the SEA region because of this horrible mess.

GUYS New Updates i just found a Message from the Thread that YJY Stared Involving the Fiasco apparently someone Close to AZK Team posted a message on the Fiasco
It's on Page 6 Link Here http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=2699&page=6
This is a message from a close friend of some of the players of AZK who feel ashamed that Gus has done such atrocities and feel ashamed and sad because they are shown in bad light to many (the world Especially their Team name AZK) because of what Gus had done and what has transpired. Please do not hate the Players it appears many of the Players had no idea what had transpired and feel ashamed and upset about the fiasco that has happened.
=================================================================== "Dear SEA Community
I'd like to bring forward a couple of things concerning this situation and the criticism received.
First off, I am not speaking on behalf of any of the AZK team members or management. I know some of their clan members personally and I am friends with them, and have been talking to them about recent events.
They are all in distress. Many of the clan members had no idea about the scams, shame and controversial acts that took place behind their backs. Many of their members expected that of which was told to them, a tournament consisting of the best SEA players paired with some top pro Koreans. They had no idea about what AZK's management did to achieve such a goal as well...
Although what really shook me up while talking to one of them was his concern with the reputation of the players of AZK themselves. Almost none of the members of the team actually were aware of the events their manager Gus had been involved in, and what so called treachery he had committed towards the entire Starcraft 2 community. All they did was look up to him to provide for the team in hopes of becoming a well known and respected clan in SEA. Then when this happens, and suddenly the world turns against Team AZK, they feel extremely distressed not only because such a reputation has been given to the team, but the players feel that they are being blamed as well. Because the scams and such are depicted as 'Team AZK's' fault, or further flame such as 'Team AZK is a terrible team', the players feel as if they are being blamed for the entirety of the scams, and worst of all, some players are starting to believe that it is their fault as well, and as such, are questioning team commitments and total separation.
Now I am aware that some AZK members aren't on the top of the list of the friendliest Starcraft 2 players, but i know a handful of them, and they are extremely nice and friendly people, who are now shook up and lost entirely given the present situation. The players just did as their management told them to, and up until the current events, thought that the management was doing nothing wrong.
The players are also extremely sorry about your situation YoonYJ, and I know one of them that was even extremely eager to meet you. They had no idea about that such a breach, and they all feel betrayed and lost, and they all hope that they will still have a place in the Starcraft 2 SEA scene.
So I do ask you of the SEA community, a community of understanding, to just be aware of this, and maybe construct your posts with these facts in consideration.
I do feel what AZK management did was unacceptable and requires a formal apology if any condolences are to be made, but lets keep our fingers pointed toward them/him and maybe not towards the players themselves.
I post this not as an official statement from the team, nor as one of their members. I post this as a close friend of a couple of the AZK members, and do as for your consideration."

So what happens now? We haven't gotten a statement from Gus yet and the tepid apology he issued during the event really didn't address any issues. Until now they continue to delete negative comments in their facebook page and any avoid any questions regarding this issue during even during event itself. This will never be settled until he answers to the accusations. So will we ever get an explanation from Gus?

Clearly you haven't been reading enough about the situation.
AZKWitchdoc has been given tons of chances to speak up. He did not. Not even a one-liner, or hell, ONE word on TL (where he was very proactive prior to the start of the event), on both his and his team's Facebook page, on Twitter, or on any of the social media listed as 'contact'. Note that him and his team were very active in CENSORING complaints and other comments throughout the entire ordeal, though.
This is NOT comparable to the EG/TSL 'drama' at all, so there's no point mentioning that.
How is this topic being blown out of proportion? IGN, one of the biggest brands out there, puts their trust and it backfires. That's newsworthy in itself, but to have all this other shit happening at the same time? TL is first and foremost an eSPORTS website, and this news is 100% eSPORTS, sorry if it's not as big as Conrad Murray being found guilty or whatever else is happening right now.

I remember the Major/Sixjax threads. Major's 'side' of the story never changed the fact that he conducted himself in an unprofessional manner, he just gave 'excuses' for his conduct. The people who were siding Major were using the skewed, Sixjax is an evil, scam team, therefore Major had the right to act as a douche, forgetting that his conduct is a direct product of his character flaws and not related to how 'badly' he was treated by Sixjax.
The members of TL feel that he is guilty, based on concrete EVIDENCE, and until Gus says anything substantial that can prove himself innocent, he doesn't deserve a side of the story. It is obvious that he knows what's going on, as his team has been censoring the hate he's been getting since the start of this fiasco.
If you have nothing to contribute in this thread, you shoudn't post at all. You claim that this thread is of no importance, and we have too much time on our hands, yet you continue to post your, it's not important anyway nonsense. This tournament had an allstar line up of players from all over the world, a qualifier for a spot in IPL4. Surely it warrants some importance?

^ This is just so sad. IGN reps remain active about the tournament from day 1. When things fall apart, they are the first to comment on the situation and give a message to the community, in the form of an apology. YoonYJ writes a thread further commenting on the situation from his side. Dox writes a blog, again further commenting on the situation. Now this? Not only that Gus was in Denial when he came onto the Stream live and essentially made an apology for the Production Quality of the Tournament.
Dodging the obvious and very blatant truth and Fact. Albeit would have been probably awkward and unkindly to do such a thing and admit that on stage at a tournament in-front of the Live Crowd. ( All the Things that had transpired behind the Scenes His Shady Dealings)
That he had cancelled/delayed Flights on-purpose to get more AZK members to the Tournament.
He even tried to Bribe MoonGlade to join AZK(team) to Take YJY's Spot; in the tournament (That of Which YJY Rightfully earned in the Qualifiers)
I wouldn't give that Scum Bag the Benefit of the Doubt
Were still waiting on word as to what happened to the HON Tournament Money 2300 US Dollars
