My list of protection was as follows: Night 1: SoMuchBetter (I would have watched FS here, but he was voted mayor) Night 2: Falcynn (in retrospect, I think this is funny because he was a veteran) Night 3: Live2Win (He never returned the favor, what a douche  )Night 4: HotZhot (I was going to watch over Alventenie, but I decided to go with what was known  )Not once did I actually help. Wow, do I ever suck (but I did start the bandwagon rolling on lynching to miss the mark, IIRC that saved L2W's life) | ||

+ Show Spoiler [day one] + The moon was fresh in the sky this eerily cold evening in the town of Liquidia, and the town quiet, not so much as a mouse stirring.(imDerek) A mafia had been infesting the quiet town for the past decade taking up positions of importance and gaining trust through misguided joy (to miss the mark) and position.(Empyrean) Chuiu had just finished writing his speech to be given out the following morning in the town square before the time for festivities of love (valentine) when he heard the terrible roar of noise and footsteps (Quesadilla). As for the Valentine clue, it was just before valentines day so I put that clue in there in the hopes that people would find it to be a true clue later on in the game and think it was nothing when I posted it. He stuttered, trying to find words "I ... ju ... only DapperDan and I know of your treachery so far ... I fear I'm short of finding help"(kf91). One of the mafia kicked down on one side of his chest, his muddy boots sliding off almost causing him to lose balance.(fen) A few of them laughed but one of them cut the laughter short, scolding them for their immature actions.(MyHeroNoob) Chuiu looked up once again to see his executioner, "You're never going to be trusted iaaagh"(Unforgiven_ve) the knife pierced his throat quickly, in seconds he was dead. Well you played a good game, but now its over and its time to meet your maker"(zdd), he said as he aimed the gun for DapperDan's head. "That was low, even for you"(ShaLLoW[baY]) said another mafia. "Who cares where I stab him, all is fair" he protested, cleaning the knife as he turned around to face the other. They needed not be quick, though, with more than a few hours (eti307) to spare they moved the bodies to the town square. As if ceremoniously, one of the mafia bowed with an arm extended,(dancefayedance!~) and they departed as a group to get much needed rest for the day to come. + Show Spoiler [day two] + A chair was conveniently located in the corner as Mahnini was thrust into it and held down with great strength. (Quesadilla) The other man grabbed a small needle out of his coat pocket and slowly injected the strange syrem into Mahnini. "This may take a couple seconds before it begins working ... ah there we go". (vharox) He quickly gained control of himself, however, and began to free himself from the grasp of the other mafia, but no sooner had Mahnini freed his hand did he die to the snapping of his neck. (Quesadilla) "Shame, we'll have to find another it seems" said the other man as they returned home, their quota filled for the night. (vharox) One stayed out, cutting the phone lines, preparing for the case that the residents may make an emergency phone call. [fen] This paragraph was DapperDan's, ask him for clarification if you need it. The powers overseeing [empyrean] did not have first-rate plans for the residents of Krohms house on this night. evanthebouncy! had his backed turn when he was attacked by a killer of the most precise control [kf91]. I guess DapperDan saw kf91 as being something technical or something, and related it to precision or robotic type clues. This man had no intentions of absolving himself [unforgiven] stealing sleeping bags was not the worst he had prepared. A little more than a few hours later (eti307) kAra was tossing in his sleep, artofmagic heard him from the next room and came in to see what was wrong. artofmagic, immediately sensing danger, tried to rush past them but was met with his end quite quickly as he was sliced in two. "Dead people don't leave" said one of the mafia as he lightly chuckled to himself and moved back to block off the door.(zdd) The other mafia kicked him to the floor, while grabbing a loaded gun on the table he said "nothing is wrong until you start saying it is" and ended kAra's life with a single bullet. (imderek) + Show Spoiler [day three] + I don't remember why day 3 lacked more clues, oh well it was an awesome one anyway "Be a real man and come and open it yourself" was his response.(quesadilla) Yogurt made his way to one of the exits at the bottom of the theatre where two men stood in his way, one dressed strangely(kf91) and the other with purpose in his eyes(vharox). A man with a knife smiling back at him. He gleefully stabbed Wizard in the stomach and left him to die as he backed up to the door to guard it once more.(to miss the mark) Seraphim jumped to the left, to the right, and back trying everything he could to get past this man but he met every move with speed and grace.(dancefeydance) Before the man could finish him off he looked up at him and said "you will have to answer for this to god".(unforgiven) "Its sad when a noble heart loses strength" said the mafia as he stabbed Puosu in the heart.(imDerek) + Show Spoiler [day four] + As the clock came past 3:00am (eti307) they got started with the deeds. Over in Mini Moose 2707's room where he was sound asleep with his stuffed rabbit (unforgiven) a mafia kicked down the door waking him immediately. He jumped to his feet and just stood there with a blank look on his face as the mafia pranced around him stabbing him all over.(dancefayedance!~) In response wurm spat in the mans face and the other mafia holding him down gave him a brutal blow to his side saying "You will respect my friend here, he serves a greater purpose" and resumed his work restraining him.(quesadilla) "Ah shame, another failed test, I feel we're getting closer though, my friend". (vharox) The knocked over man fired several shots many of them missing (to miss the mark) but the other man caught up with him after JeeJee slipped on some mud on the ground.(fen) A sweet floral scent entered his nostrils before JeeJee's life was ended by a gunshot to the head. (fen) Aepplet was on his cellphone dialing 911 but was cut short when his hand was pulled away from the phone rather abruptly,(kf91) he was raised into the air with ease and sliced clean in half,(zdd) Amber[LighT] was almost to the entrance before being intercepted by a strangely dressed man, he pulled out a sword and because thrusting and slicing away until Amber[LighT] was finally dead did he say 'Lay here in the earth, may violets spring from your unpolluted flesh'.(imDerek) This gave chicken` time to close and latch the door to the cellar, quite confident he escaped he ran towards his car parked out front. As he turned the corner around the house a man came out of the brush and viciously beat him to the ground.(randombum) + Show Spoiler [day five] + "I have some investigations of my own, my dear sir" said the man as he took a step back to wait for the drug to take effect.(vharox) Alventenie's skin started bubbling and his veins were growing, he was in obvious horrific pain as he tried lunging back and forth in the chair to escape, but to no effect, the man holding him down proxy to the other mafia administering the tests was much stronger by comparison.(quesadilla) But he noticed some rather disturbing tracks on the carpet in his house and he knew he was trapped.(fen) ulszz stabbed forward at him but another mafia rescued his friend by grabbing ulszz's arm and turning the knife against him.(myheronoob) His leg was grabbed by one of the mafia from the back of the van, all he could think about was the chilling touch of the mafia's hand as he was drug outside.(zdd) One of many grim reaper references, I originally wanted to make Grim Fandago references but I didn't think anyone would ever get those considering its an underdog of great gaming. Another mafia stood there ready to end his life, his pale hand reached for a gun and shot CDRdude twice in the chest ending his life rather quickly.(Valentine) FF7 reference, since no one will ever get this on their own. Out from an alley (randombum) came a man of the same deadly ilk, but this man did not bleed alike blood. imDerek was found a filthy mess (randombum) in the middle of the street, stabbed to death several times over. Later that night around 3:14am ZBiR and infinity21 were playing a game table tennis in their attic, determined to stay up through the night so they wouldn't be killed in their sleep.(eti307) He landed on the ground to find the man had already run off, he wouldn't forget that mans face and knew he could never let him get away with this, though he wouldn't get away himself.(unforgiven_ve) He saw a man prancing his way around the front of the house to him and he quickly turned around to flee but was no match in speed.(dancefayedance) + Show Spoiler [day six] + This entire day post was written by Dapperdan, I'm sure you can tell our stark differences in clue writing by now but this will cement them into your head if you didn't by now In the moment of this thought, randombum found himself violently close lined by a man he could feel through his neck had brutishly muscular arms.(quesadilla) He assumed the man coming was his savior (empyrean). Someone with the power to make dreams all too real (empyrean) ended clazziquai’s life on this night. He looked back up at his window as he began to run away, only able to depict a colorless figure (zdd) with indistinct shape. He only stopped in front of a quagmire (fen) that desired wading through before reaching the river to catch his breath. All the clues before this point were originally supposed to be in the previous day (with the exception of the randombum paragraph) but didn't make it in because DapperDan was a little late getting them to me, a few name replacements here and here and presto a start for the next day. His almost-robotic, and precise killer (KF91), which the town had previously known, waited, crouched in the darkness. He tapped and trotted (dancefayedance) in his attempts to dodge the ill-angled bullets. This man undoubtedly had the makings of a successful prototype model (KF91) for a cold-hearted killer. Randombum flew out of the truck’s bed; rolling over the dirt on the side of the road to the edge the quagmire (fen), only his face submerging in a pool of murky water. He impulsively looked to his watch; it was just after 3 in the morning (eti307). He felt lucky not to be noticed as romance_us was silenced with the release of 3 deadly bullets. (vharox) As randombum ran, he could hear the man from behind him yell, "I'll save you! I promise!" (myheronoob) with a hideously evil laugh following. | ||

As I was reading the thread I knew who I wouldn't hit if I were mafia just from the way they asked for medic protection and you or other medics usually watched people who asked for it. And Live2Win did the worst job of all. If you want to know the real way to be a medic you need to first think as if you were mafia, who would you target. Then you watch that person. Never reveal your role unless you're certain someone isn't mafia and never ever announce who you're going to watch like Live2Win did. | ||

Honestly when I played the game I thought I was going to be quiet, place my vote every day, and then make it to the end without the mafia thinking about me being alive. I didn't want to speak as much as I did on the 4th day, which was the reason I was bound to die. My idea was that if you didn't accuse someone, especially a mafia member, it would be harder to track you. Another goal was to aim for the popular vote, which is why I voted for FakeSteve to be mayor (but my vote never counted). I voted for Dr.Dragoon to make sure the mafia knew I wasn't accusing people randomly. I let others speak for me, and if I agreed I would vote. I was almost sure Live2Win was going to die and when he didn't on the first couple of days I began suspecting him. The game has so many angles and you can't see how serious someone is when they post. We would have done a lot better as a town if we had more active townies. I also tried to make myself look stupid by questioning the rules numerous times. A mafia member would probably be more likely to keep someone who doesn't actually get whats going on, so making dead-end deductions using random information helped. I also gotta admit my skills in deciphering clues sucked. They were more difficult than I thought. Next game should be better since I have the hang of this now. | ||

Good game guys, townies missed some pretty damn important things however, and made some god awful decisions which made it slightly easy for the Mafia. Thanks for setting this all up Chuiu and Dapperdan, I look forward to the next one. If anyone has any mafia questions, i'll happily answer them for you. | ||

I felt the same about goldnkrnboi after the number of suspects increased. This was my pm to shallow right after he died: dont really have any strong suspicions, but... First, "how do you know 2 of the mafia went after Mahnini? That should be confidential information that should kept only to the mafia and Chuiu/DapperDan!" -for an intelligent player this should have been obvious in the clues. seems a bit suspicious, because its one of the methods of a detective. I sort of dont want you to tell me whether live2win is mafia. Although I will say this, if caller is mafia, then the dude is fucking clever. But I'm doubting it for now. Alventine for similar reasons. One question I do want to know though is: How many mafia are active on the board? We looked in 2 main areas: Clues in the description, and psychology. If players were in opposition, it made it less likely (but certainly still possible) for them to be mafia. Even though I suspected that the mafia would purposely use a bait member (I though this is what was happening with shallow[bay] and dragoon), it was unlikely that more than one pair would pretend opposition, so if I had a list of 10 pairs, it was likely that 9 out of those 10 pairs were safe bets. A lot of this was based on subtle psychology as well, so I'm not sure I can explain it... but we looked more for players being subtle than being obvious. We also looked for alliances, both in comments, and in the votes. -We very quickly created a list of profiles/quotes...doing this so early is why (and the freedom to communicate without worrying plexa might be mafia :D) I think we got the right suspects faster. When zapling posted this, I was 90% sure that he was innocent. -We even looked at user icons, images, names, join dates, etc -We picked out obvious clues, and pretty much ignored the rest....filtering is extremely helpful. -we knew the mafia were mostly active. Without that knowledge, it would have been a lot more difficult early on. -listing out the profiles so early gave us another advantage: A smart mafia member should constantly change his profile/sig to avoid detection. Its something to look out for. Unfortunately I dont think anyone actually did this. -if people had obvious clue material in their profile/name and they werent mentioned in the clues, they were dropped from the suspect list. If it is ieatkids, we should look out for any clues relating to procrastination or laziness! Especially near the end of the game this was super valuable. I eliminated almost as many people as I added to potential supects. -we suspected tracil/l2w because they were responsible for fakesteve being lynched. We stopped PMing eachother about this on Feb 23, so I dont have pms regarding later suspects. | ||
