Cycle 1 Event: Save the Queen! 600 A.D. GMarshal awoke to find his world very different. Looking around he could see the members of his town sprawled out on the grass, mostly unconscious. "Where are we? we were just testing out the teleporter when I heard someone scream about a temporal disturbance...." Thats when GMarshal looked and saw Gaurdia castle in the distance. "Hmm. we are still in the same place, but where is the fair?" He was taken from his train of thought when iGrok and his fiend minions burst forth from the trees. "They are here to search for their queen we captured and took To the old church! Kill them in the name of the Fiendlord!" It took the lives of Foolishness, Radfield, and Mementoss to fight off the pack of fiends and kill iGrok. Fiendlord.....Wait, temporal disturbance! This is a war that happened 400 years ago! Did we go back in time?! GMarshal turned to the assembled members of the town. "We need answers. lets assemble a party to head to the church that fiend mentioned." It is now Cycle 1. You will be electing a party leader who will choose 3 additional members to join the party and try to complete the event. please get all votes into the voting thread as well as ALL NIGHT ACTIONS into me and mementoss 1 hour prior to the deadline.  I am going to go out and assume that Lavos will be a game element and not a player, seeing as he will be "summoned" later in the game. So I am going to assume that the quests are to get to Lavos, and get any town advantages we can on the way (somewhat similar to Resistance mafia). My suggestion is thus to play this just like resistance mafia. Everybody suggests the party they will make if chosen as leader today and gives their reasons. This should be done by 12 hours (or maybe 6, given that it's day 1 and people still need to get going) before the deadline, giving people time to vote on their preferred party leader. To get the discussion started, I would currently choose Marv, Sandro and Syllo along: I know them, I know Sandro and Syllo work well together, and I know they are all good players. I have no clue what the quest will be, so bringing the best players simply seems prudent. However, as the day goes on this may change if I get clear scum reads on any of them. For Sandro and Syllo I feel a scumread is viable in D1. I don't think I can get a read on Marv in D1, but he's still more readable than Toad, who I would otherwise put in that spot. | ||

I think anyone who wants to be elected as party leader should announce who they will pick to work with them so that they have something which they have to stand by. I don't want mafia to be able to choose an all mafia team (or 3rd party or whatever the hell else GreY put in this game). or, if they do I'd like them to have to at least put their stances in the thread on which players seem most townie and most scummy. | ||

The success of these missions appear to carry significant weight and it's something I'd want direct control over. A successful day one will make each of the following days that much easier. I think these mechanics play to my strengths, which is identifying pro-town players early on. I promise to be active and open and not disappear once elected *shakes fist at wiggles* As acro says, this game could turn out really similar to resistance. I rolled scum in the last resistance game so you have something to compare my play to. A successful day one can snowball the game and force the mafia team to make a play later on. Due to the way the events work, its even more important than normal to establish yourself as pro-town early on. If you are town and lurk, you're likely not going to be selected, directly impacting our chances of success. Keep in mind posting a lot doesn't translate to being pro-town. Since I prefer to know who we are dealing with, I'm going to be a jerk and ask the smurfs to claim their identity (that's what you get for not hiding it well!). You have an advantage by hiding your posting tendencies. Nothing to hide, right? Acro, your plan to announce who you would bring along without seeing their posts first is silly. We gain nothing from bringing along vets in our party. We are looking for players that are clearly pro-town. Plus in 30+ games I've never won a mayoral election. Give me the pity vote! <3 | ||

Based on the fact that Acro had the same though as me and from our last game together I would currently, put him in my team, along with Acro I would add Marv (come on, wouldn't you?) and as third player I would chose Hapa. Hapa is a guy who over many games I have come to like and respect though I once hated him. He is a great town player and a kinda crappy scum player, seems like the right guy to have along for the ride. TL:DR My team: Acro, Marv, Hapa I'm curious if putting one player who seems like a liability (one of the guys known for trolling or one of the smurfs) onto the team so that we can get a read on them from their actions makes sense? It seems like we won't have lynches but knowing who scum is/is not will help town players direct any and all actions which they have and i assume making sure that non-town players not being on the quest team will be a good thing for us as the OP specifies that they can make it more difficult to achieve our objectives. | ||
