Get the EC1 eVo, it has the same sensor as Zowie AM ((Avago ADNS-3090) which is great.

1150 vs 800 is faster. You do the math.
But it is very close of course.

I didnt mean Dpi wise I am fine with the 1150 I just mean he is talking about flawless sensors acceleration etc. just wondering how the ec1 evo sensor is compared to the mico

The original versions of the EC1/EC2 used the Avago 3060, which had quite a bit of correction.

The EC1/EC2 Evo versions use the Avago 3090, which has no correction (aka "flawless" sensor)

The Mico uses the same sensor as the Steelseries Kana (PixArt 3305DK-H), which has a mild amount of correction. Not considered noticeable unless you are extremely picky about it.

None of these mice have any significant hardware-level acceleration - I've seen a few threads accuse the PixArt of having a little bit of negative acceleration as you approach the perfect control speed, but you won't be anywhere near that in RTS games.
If you ban me, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Spilled some iced tea on my ~1 year old deathadder 3.5 and now the mousewheel is acting up. It's always been a little buggy (jumping up a bit when scrolling down a bunch) but now it's physically getting stuck while pressing the middle mouse button and I think the left and right click buttons might be slightly affected as well.

Gonna try to open it up tonight, might be able to clean it out if that's why it's acting up.

If that doesn't solve it, I'm thinking about picking up the 2013 edition since that one is supposed to have an improved wheel and nicer grips/sensor. Does anyone have any thoughts on the 2013 model? Is it really worth ~$15 more than the 3.5? (I only use 1800 dpi)

Don't you read anything? It is the sensor that is flawless. Check and see if the sensor is the game. I gave you an article to read. 3090 and 3050! :/

Quick update-- managed to pry open the mouse and cleaned the innards with some rubbing alcohol. Seems to be working perfectly now but I'm still not convinced that it's not broken. I think I'm going to get the 2013 edition anyway because I have a bit of amazon credit and the new grips/mousewheel look pretty badass. Maybe I'll even make a youtube review/comparison once it arrives.

Hi everyone
I am looking for help, I am sooo lost with all these mouses models.

I am a Razer Diamondback 3G user for so many years and I think it's time to buy a new one.

What I want :
- A ambidextrous mouse (maybe a left-handed edition if available, but ambidextrous is fine) because I am left-handed.
- A relatively light mouse, I don't have a "full grab" on the mouse and I like to lift it up very quickly when needed.
- I have medium hands, a average sized mouse would be fine.

What I don't want :
- "rubber coating" thing on the mouse, it makes the mouse very dirty and it cames off with time, as you can see, a picture of my actual Diamondback 3G who served so many good game : https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tqhsx68hkx2dfm/2013-02-22 15.04.37.jpg

I believe that some popular mouses like the Sensei or the Deathadder have the rubber coating surface thing on it, I spend a ton of time on my compter so it becomes quickly used/dirty with this kind of thing.

I still need to read the OP even more, but going though all the mouses choice makes me feel absolutely lost !

Any advice ?

Zowie Mico or the new Zowie FK.
I have tried several brands and mice. But I prefer zowie.

I really like my Lachesis (the newest version of it, 5600DPI). It may look like it has this 'rubber coating' you speak of from the image, but actually it's not the same. I had the Razer Diamondback (original) before this and it also got kinda messed up over time but the Lachesis seems to not have this problem at all.

Some people in this thread will probably say the sensor sucks (at least some have in another thread) but I have had no problems with it whatsoever so I suggest having a look at it.

Over 99% accuracy in an 875 pixel cross-screen snap done in 13 frames of a 60fps recording (0.216 seconds) KILL ME NOW, i will never beat this.

Im kinda freaked out because it was the start of my pre-starcraft warmup and i clicked on that map by accident - i usually played another one on the same song, i had literally NEVER seen this map before, i had no idea the cross-screen jump was coming, just entirely muscle memory. I dont know what to say to this, had to share it with people. Im amazed :D

All credit goes to the imba imba Razer Deathadder and its flawless sensor <3

So i got a Deathadder 3.5G, on sale for 45 euros. How does the sensitivity on the driver work? I know the best dpi setting is 1800, but does the sensitivity make the performance worse? Also, is there any reason to use the Synapse 2.0? I'm using the old driver now.

I'd like to use 450 dpi for CS and something faster for SC

The 1800 dpi setting has the best perfect control speed, so people with this mouse keep it set there. With firmware updates to fix the jittering issue, there's no reason to use any other setting.

In CS and other FPS games, turn on raw input and turn down the in-game sensitivity accordingly. In Windows, set the cursor sensitivity to 6/11 (normal sensitivity), 4/11 (half-sensitivity), or 3/11 (quarter-sensitivity) to give you the desired RTS/desktop sensitivity.

Unless some feature of Synapse is useful to you, its not necessary for these mice. When used driverless, it defaults to 1800 dpi and 500 Hz polling.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a new mouse, and being a not very technical person, all the spec numbers make my head spin, and I have no idea what's good for me. All advice would be appreciated.

1. What's your grip style?
Fingertip.
2. What's your sensitivity?
Don't know - was thoroughly confused by this section of the Overview article. Probably medium.
3. What's your maximum budget?
Can go up to $100 for the right mouse, but would prefer lower.
4. Do you want additional buttons?
Yes.
5. What games do you play?
Mostly Dota 2, with some Diablo 3, turn based strategy, and third person RPGs. No FPS or MMO games.
6. Do you mind angle snapping?
Don't know. My current mouse is probably far too cheap and basic to have this, so I doubt I've used it.
7. Other relevant information:
I use a cloth mousepad, don't mind shape (current is ambi, but use right hand), not keen on a gloss finish, prefer not too heavy.

Thanks.

After 2 years I finally threw away my Intellipoint. It was comfortable but cut out so regularly that it was a pain in the arse.

Looking to splash some cash on something cool, how would people rate the Naga Hex relative to the normal Naga?

^Its just about buttons, what you personally like id guess.

Im not sure if they use the same sensor, but im pretty sure the sensor or both of them are subpar

Anyone know if the Razer Imperator 4g 2012 version still have the z axis problems when you lift it a lot? Like it somehow goes downwards when you lift it and place it back fast on the same location.

Is the Deathadder 2013 much of an improvement over the Black Edition? Only qualms I have is the sides of my BE are a bit slippy/not very grippy and it's a tad too heavy for my liking.

I just got the g9x for $40 and so far so good. I kept the grip it came with and no weights added. Not sure I like it better than my DA though but only a few days in. For 40 though it does compete with my CM storm xornet for value-for-money-paid .
