Can see a close game here where France gets too complacent. France wins it late 2-1.
Sweden might not put up that much of a fight and France definately needs the #1 spot in that group so France ezpz

Ukraine and Sweden: amazing at StarCraft, not as good at football/soccer =/

zlatan looks like a serial killer, i'm afraid

Why does France need the #1 spot?
I don't see whats worse: Spain QF, Portugal SF or Italy QF, Germany SF

Spain is historically elite and the best team in the tournament. They have not looked unbeatable in the groupstage but neither did they last WC and we all know how that turned out.
Not to mention that you need a solid defense to stand a chance against Spain and France's defense has been shaky so far.

I don't see whats worse: Spain QF, Portugal SF or Italy QF, Germany SF I dare to say that spain=germany>italy=portugal. So you wanna face the "easier to beat"-team first. But in reality, it doesn't matter too much I think.
Hopefully we can at least grab a point today, but I think we'll lose. 2-0 France.

thats why they tell you to always aim for the far post..

wow i thought he was going to score there T_T

sweden same strat of england 10 - 0 - 0

Lol Benzema. Wonderfully done by RIbery.
Diarra flirting with a yellow with these challenges
The two games I've seen Benzema this tourney he's been absolute shite. Was he good against Ukraine to merit starting today? Cause I think playing Giroud would suit France better.

Is there something like worker rushing in football?
Dude hopefully Laurent Blanc will make some changes, cause so far it seems that the only one who actually knows how to play is Ribery. Anyway I dunno what happened but 1st half looked really disappointing tbh.
Asch, so close to a great start.
god, why there is ben arfa
England in the lead, so France might want to turn it up. Maybe they're fine with second though. Even if Spain isn't super impressive atm, they're still fierce opponents.
Benzema and Kerzhakov have had similar tourneys. They both run a lot, creates a lot of space and chances, but can't for the love of anything score a damn goal.

So sick goal

You can't be out of this Euro.
Sick goal by Zlatan! And as usual Sweden are in the lead after roughly an hour played.
Too bad it doesn't matter at all.
Holy shit that goal... really a great one.
Though some people would say that as usual, ibrahimovic on the top when it doesn't matter anymore and there is absolutely nothing to gain/lose...
Btw, I'm so sad this will be the last we get to see of Mellberg in the swedish shirt. He's so amazing. What a mang he is.

Amazing goal earlier. Sweden playing great right now.

Mother of God... French defense letting Ibrahimovitch do whatever he wants... Come on Mexes WTF are you doing

mexes and rami like to watch the ball, it's their passion
Sad that Koscielny isn't given the chance. Mexes hasn't been that good the last years, imo. Subbing in Malouda, wat.
Mellberg is the true hero this euro for sweden. Sad to see him possible retire from the national team after this.

I know, he just said they can't which isn't true (if I read the table correctly). Of course it would have to take a miracle for it to go that way.
Why hasn't Wilhemsson been in a single starting XI? Stupid Hamrén.
Hope Mellberg keeps playing. He's such an important player for us. An absolute pillar of the team.
Must remind Ribbery for Marseille... surrounded by handicaped players
What is Malouda doing on the pitch. He's as bad as he was against England.

as bas as he ahs been for last 8 years with the national team
I hope they play that bad to finish second in group, otherwise WTF
A yellow for that when Diarra has gone free? dafuq
Finally Giroud is about to enter.
Well... 90 minutes like the last 2 would have been better than this Nasir/Ben Arfa joke...
it's just a shame lol, no word to describe this

Good win, but ultimately disappointing for Sweden.
NICE at least we are going out with some style.
Extremely sad we couldn't show solid play like this against Ukraine and England. Yeah, France hasn't played a very good game, but we play a great game and deserve the win. At least we went out with a bang.
These guys have the chance to play in one of the biggest football competition and they just clearly don't give a single f*.
I guess Drogba's statement would suite oh so well... what a disgrace.
Thanks for the qualification England.

Very happy about this game; beating France 2-0 is a great and heroic result. But I can't help, of course, being really sad and disappointed about this whole tournament. The margins are small on this level of football.
Poor Sweden, 2-0 France and still finish last of group
Pretty bad performance. No chance vs Spain with such play.
If only we had more than one Ibrahimovic. That goal.
At least we got the most beautiful goal of this tournament yet. That finish from Ibra is so unbelievably good.

I have several ways of thinking to make me less sad:
-There was just one game less than usual to enjoy for Swedish football fans - we always get eliminated in the quarter finals anyway!
-We've had the margins on our side a lot lately with sick goals to get us out of groups we shouldn't be getting out of - Svensson's free kick against Argentina, Zlatan's goal against Italy (and the wonderfully hilarious 2-2-result against Denmark).
Btw Mexes is suspended against Spain, so good for France?

A little early to hoist the white colours don't you think? Let us face it, Spain have to pass the ball into the net... Sure you are up against a tough opponent, but France stands a decent chance imo.
Congratulations to Spain for their semifinal spot. I cant se french beating them if they cant beat shitty teams like Sweden.

Thanks guys. So brave facing Spain so we don't have to
Honestly, I don't think facing Italy is better than facing Spain. I know Spain had good results in the recent tournaments and have a sick squad, but Italy is Italy...

I agree, imo France's play style is more suited to counter Spain's than Italy's.
Mellberg is a beast, please god make him change his mind about retiring
"lol". this match.
amazing first goal though.
I believe too than Spain is more of an easier opponent than Italy for France. Well, easier probably isn't the right term, but France always had played shitty during group phases. It will be a tough match tho, with a slightly favored spanish team.
Tonight's match was a joke, at least the british dudes got the job done. :p
What a heroic game of Mellberg, again. He´s peaking in the last cap of his life... brings a tear to my eye. Atleast we leave Euro 2012 with style. Wilhelmsson also playing like a god in at the end of his career. Im happy for all countrymen that traveled so far and supported our national team.
Nice job Sweden! Thats a shame both our teams got eliminated. Hope our Swedish guests in Kyiv will stay to the end of euro .
GG. A worthy last game from Sweden! While a bit sad over being out - I'm happy to see France and England moving on, for a continued level of excitement in tournament.
It's easy to say this as an Englishman but I thought Sweden played well against England and I didn't see why they should be so upset about that result. Hopefully with this result you guys won't be so quick to try and take the head off the manager.
Well played

I feel that Sweden played well in the tournament (asides from the UKR game), but Ukraine also did surprisingly well ^^
I find it funny how people were ripping on Melberg (and the swedish defense in general) for Shevchenko's first goal and calling it cheap. Guys old, Sheva got the better of him for one a play and did the business great strikers do, the cross was great to.
but nooooooo terrible play.
Good job sweden, well played, happy for the fans, very nice performance, could have easily been 4-0, sadly it wasn't enough for them to get through with us
On June 20 2012 05:55 sharkie wrote: Btw Mexes is suspended against Spain, so good for France?
It's hard to say, as far as I know the only other Center back is Koscielny and he has never played with Rami in official matches. So this seem to prepare the scene for a brutal rape : you have Spain against a brand new defense with no automatisms/experience together and I'm really worried about the left side as well. But if Mexès would have played like he played against Sweden, then it would have been another rape. SOOoooo it's fifty-fifty I guess, now we can only hope Koscielny is ready to handle the likes of Torres, Iniesta, Silva...
For this match, it's like everything our team can do bad, they did it. As is has been the case in the national championship, Lloris was by far the best player on the team, with extraordinary saves and presence. Please be thankful of Lyon for training him to save the day every match... I cannot believe how static our offense was. It looked like handball, without any percussion, and without the fact that the goal is at 9 meters of hand. No comment on defense, I can understand how it's hard to handle Ibrahimovic, and how it is even harder if the other players are on fire too.
