Obviously France is stronger than Ukraine, but after Zizou's retirement i have yet to see something GOOD come out of France. And i don't think they're that good.
Hoping for a Ukraine win so that they care less about their game vs England but I think France will pick them apart if they don't play a very defensive game like England did.
Glad to see Blanc ditching one his three workhorses in the middle for a more creative player like Menez although I prefer Valbuena and Ben Arfa myself.
I imagine this means Nasri will play in his best position through the middle now?

I would say the opposite, rain isn't the concern, lightning is a danger at the end of the day, if something goes wrong and someone gets hurt, then there is all of a sudden a huge shitstorm
IIRC, there were a match where several players get stuck by lightning some years ago, so its a good call from the ref. And this kind of heavy rain gonna make the match very messy as well.
Look at that,in the neighbour city Kharkiv, sun shining so brightly,150 km from Donetsk, and it feels like local time in Donetsk about 23pm,sky is so dark ;D
Storm passed in 2-3 hours yesterday, and this is the same storm front
.... Watch at this stadion.., and now at this one in Ukraine.
So ? There is a ton of conductible material in ukraine stadion, so it would be more dangerous. I don't think any stadion got lightning rod to prevent this.
Let Ukraine play in Kiev, they have more luck there and its better everyone said,, but NO that fucking guy (forgot his name) had to make the match play in Donestk.

Ukraine be much bigger than I realised. I'm in the U.K right now and my home town/little village made national news because of floading earlyier this week. We're getting some pretty heavy storms in Europe this week.

Thats some heavy rain even for people from tropical region like me. You guys didn't get that too much in EU right?
On June 16 2012 01:26 Enox wrote: wow, thats crazy... even if the rain stops, the field is in terrible condition. i have no idea how they want to play there
For modern stadium with good field, after the rain stops for about 15min, the field will drain itself no problem. I'd say if the rain stop or reduced by a large amount, it will be very playable.

Well,if am not mistaken,Ukraine is the largest country in Europe along with France by the territory,Poland,Romania and Spain are slightly lesser

I hope this isn't serious! If you're really that stupid pls never post again! There is a ZERO chance a player could get hurt right now! The referee is just a pussy and don't want to play when it rains.

Even if safety wasn't an issue, do you have any idea just how soaked the playing field is? Like, it's not just wet, they're literally playing in water.

First time watching football under heavy flooding conditions? Apart from players risking injury, the ball will act like a brick anytime it lands. Passing and shooting is wildly affected and that is not possible to play in.

You're an idiot. With the pitch being that wet there's every likelihood of twisted ankles and slips that could easily do damage. On top of that the pitch being that shit completely ruins ball travel distances. Even if they were ok'ed to play it would be terrible

No chance to get hurt? If you're that stupid, please stop posting.
This is like playing football, with football boots and all, on ice. If they'd play it's pretty much a guarantee that every single player ends up severly injured.

Now in this condiction of field ... will be terrible game , its a shame , andits bad for Ukraine.. in wet field. older players will get tired faster :/

Still cheering for their own supporters, ideally. What kind of baby are booing as soon as their opponent gets the ball?
Fance and Menez was lucky to have avoided a red card. Menez should be careful or Blanc need to sub him, hes prone to fault and one more fault is all it take for him to be sent off. Props for Ukraine to actually play attacking unlike England in the first game.
Just let Ben Arfa and Giroud in... When Blanc say that "Benzema and Giroud can't play together" I just don't understand. Benzema have to take the ball so far from the ukrainian goal :/

If you say so. I think it's annoying as fuck.
Edit: Especially annoying when your supporters make up for 95% of the audience.

Can we please stop this ridiculous argument. This has occurred in basically every football match that has ever been played. The fans do it to put the opposition off as well as to show support to their own team, it creates somewhat of a twelfth man effect.

It's called playing with a home advantage. Are you new to football?
A little bit frustrated with the French offense.. Why do they insist on playing through the center ukranian defense, even when the ukranians have 5 men there and the french wings are clear?

Their players are a LOT shorter, so crossing seems pretty pointless on the counter
And longer passes on the ground are ruined by how wet it is
Interesting to see France trying to play like Spain (although they are still a little less skill than Spain still). Very high pressing in the midfield so it's very hard for Ukraine to develop possession, short passes, and lot of good offensive midfield players. They are looking pretty good.

So alright.. Both goals from France came within 3 minutes, overall, this has been a fairly depressing match.. Could be the terrible pitch, after almost 90minutes of play, there are bundles of grass lying everywhere the size of fists which makes passes really random
Im glad France won, but this was really hard for me to get excited about
