Philadelphia TSL Finals Party2PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 chez JWD (2400 Chestnut St.)
Dear TLers: you're all invited to come to my place next Sunday at 2:00 (~1:30 if you'd like to hang out a bit beforehand) to watch the TSL Finals (guaranteed to be an epic match!). Attractions include:
- beer / equally appealing nonalcoholic drinks, for youngsters
- snacks
- take-out food if there's interest (Chinese, pizza, we can do whatever)
- my enthusiastic roommate, who will probably take bets on the match
- a large TV for our viewing pleasure
- a chance to meet some of my friends and a character I know only as "polar7bear7", who I've just invited to the party and is somewhat famous (between my roomie and me) for for posting invitations to game (Magic, WoW, BW) in my building's mail room
Please post in this thread if you're interested in coming (I'll keep a list of attendees below). I live in apartment 3308 (33rd floor) at 2400 Chestnut Street (Google map). My building is one block from 30th Street Station and just across the river from 76, so it should be easy for everyone in the Philly area to get to! Time to represent, Philadelphia nerds!!

Wow holy crap I'd totally come and join in but I have a feeling I'll have to be cranking out my thesis that week. That's so close too... I live on Penn campus so it's like a mile ;o

My apartment is fairly large—the only reason I can afford it is because Philadelphia is so cheap. And don't be fooled by the pictures at my building's website the lobby is far and away the nicest part of the building.
No prohibitions on parties that I'm aware of, and I don't think the neighbors are going to complain considering that my roommate and I threw a borderline rager for my birthday and didn't hear a peep from the landlord about it.

Well, I totally would go if I had a ticket right now to Philaelphia or by some lucky mistake, took the wrong bus and led me there. Unfortunately economically its not viable for me to travel from Costa Rica to a party in the US *although i really appreciate the gesture!*

I don't own a car so I'm actually not an expert on this...my building has a garage, but I think it's fairly expensive relative to metered parking in the surrounding neighborhood / paid parking lots that are a block or two down Chestnut.
It may be a little tricky to find a metered spot nearby, but paid parking (at reasonable rates, I'm assuming) is really easy to come by. Bottom line is there's plenty of parking.
As for post-match LAN...I have a lot of schoolwork this weekend so may not be able to play too many games / may kick you guys out after a couple hours ( ) but of course feel free to bring your computers!

i'm home in northeast PA this weekend, which is about 3 hours away from Philadelphia. i'll do my best to be back in the city in time for this, but at this point i'm leaning toward the likelihood that i won't make it, unfortunately.
