I get plenty of sleep, sleep is not an issue. Is sleep going to get rid of the tens of idiots who keep derailing my thread and won't stop derailing? Is sleep going to get rid of the tens of idiots who post at random intervals about stupid stuff that only creates terrible/heated discussions? No it's not. If I had mod powers I would just refresh every 5 seconds to ensure nothing happens. I really HATE IT when ppl start insulting each other. What the fuck? People can't have a difference of an opinion? You HAVE to go degrade that other person to satisfy yourself? You REFUSE to see the other person's point even a little bit? This kind of CRAP makes me angry. I want a LR where everyone can enjoy the games and converse with each other in a CIVIL way. I don't need those kind of stubborn ppl yelling imbalance. K but to be real if you hate all those negative features, you probably shouldn't spend time reading comment sections of any forum in any corner of the internet. This is how it is, everywhere. I think there's even a funny article out there on why people arguing online cannot come to agreements or be nice to each other versus behavior in real life. It's a sad feature of the internet and I think it would be best to just become immune to it and continue doing your thing without too much care directed at anyone engaging in crap behavior This so wrong This place was built and survives on people's passion. The fact that we have posters like Seeker willing to spend hours and hours toiling on shitty threads just because they love the game is what makes TL the place it is. Ungrateful little shits who have no concept of responsible behaviour ruin places like this and should tossed out as soon as possible. It will be a sad day when Seeker doesn't get upset about this stuff. It will mean he has lost his desire to do things the right way. Being cynical and just accepting moronic behaviour is why the rest of the internet is such an aweful place to be. TL will never be that way.
I agree with probulous. TL.net is basically by far the most civilized forum I've been on. It's well-moderated, and although things get out of hand sometimes in General or in LR threads, a lot of what makes TL different is that it does not give ground to the trolls. Some guy came by one of my threads today and was trolling, and I didn't know what to do-- so I reported him. He was given a warning, then he came back and posted in a helpful fashion. The fact that TL is a place where this sort of thing happens is what makes it great.
Things are tougher, much tougher in the LR threads, though. Posts fly by quickly, people get angry and start yelling at each other for basically no reason. There are a few brave souls who go in there and try to set things right, and I have nothing but respect for Seeker for what he does. When I read his blog, I gave him 5 stars-- not just for a great blog post, but for his generally great contributions to TL.net.
I can only hope that Seeker's motivation and spirit holds up. If he ever gives up and accepts bad posters as normal posters I will silently cry ;_;
