A former colleague got a new job recently that pays 70% more than his old job, because someone he kept contact to is building up a new team and needs someone with his qualifications and so of course he got offered the job first. If he hadn't done networking, he'd never have gotten offered that job. It's not good, especially for people like me who aren't exactly "people persons", but networking is essential if you want to get anywhere and I regret that I suck so much at it. | ||
