Professional! Nah, kidding. I get your stance. Just don't forget that a) from a nihilistic point of view, nothing is really full of deep sense, and b) the community basically consists of people that contribute nothing of importance to the scene. In general, those guys are called "customers", in this case it's more fitting to call them "consumers" I think. Don't take me as an example for TL community members. There's so much of value being done everyday that your post might be slightly insulting to those who e.g. try to get matchfixing clearance, create LR threads, maintain Liquipedia, discuss about LotV, ... the list is rather long.

I feel the impulse to correct people when they just use "nihilistic" randomly, moral nihilism and existential nihilism actually has alot of base in existentialism, and just asserts that morality or objective meaning / intrinsic value doesn't exist, the follow up being that humanity creates its own existential value and morality (instead of having it being intrinsic or given to us by a higher power). Metaphysical nihilism is based in skepticism and can be interpreted to say that existence itself has no higher state of reality.
Nothing about being a nihilist suggests that you should suddenly cease to care about the universe or hold an extremely pessimistic view on the world, it only supposed one half of that equation, the rest is people projecting their personal emotions onto a harsh skeptic interpretation of reality while not understanding it at all. Nietzsche posed the idea because with the decline of Christianity in Europe it would then be up for future generations to fill the ideological gap that has been left due to skepticism using existential values, and a belief in humanity emancipating and becoming greater than it is.

I finally read both blogs and I don't even understand what happened.
TB's blog wasn't offensive *at all*. It was sarcastic and whimsical to what was honestly a stupid question. But he didn't insult anyone.
Then someone calls him a douche and TB does TB things (i.e. be needlessly offensive) and it just goes straight into the toilet.
I guess it's like what happened with inControl where he just developed such a reputation that he couldn't say the most innocent thing without random people getting mad.
Maybe I shouldn't be too surprised when people inject their own biases into what they read since so much of actual real life communication is non-verbal. And boy do people have strong opinions about TB lol.

wit is required for sarcasm. tb was just an asshole, and not a particularly funny one at that. really the only funny thing about him was watching a grown man melt down like a 16 year old girl that just got dumped on fb. granted, that alone is worth the price of admission and internet meltdowns will entertain me until the end of time. I just don't understand how a public figure could be so clueless about stuff like that

I guess that's a fine example of what I meant. I find it difficult to call someone an asshole when they aren't directing anything at anyone.
I do agree and remain baffled how he's done what he's been doing for so long without learning to walk away or avoid the rapid meltdowns he's so infamous for. But that hardly means everything out of his mouth is a tantrum (actually this is another reason I'm not surprised he was attacked so quickly. People often can't handle multiple versions of anything, most are very binary in their thinking).
Edit: Also I can't tell if you're saying TV is an asshole in general or in that opening post/blog. The latter is what I assumed and disagree with.

Not everyone is consciously prepared or equipped to be a public figure, lots of people become popular for one reason or another with out understanding why, lots of people have personalities that would fit fine in certain social environments but not others. The internet is a microcosm of every conceivable community where any form of behavior through precedence or the will of a few public figures can become the expected mainstream behavior. You can't expect anyone who got famous for creating funny internet videos to be a patient, civil, knowledgeable person, AND have a personality that arbitrarily fits the atmosphere of any given online community.

He's a big ol' cockknocker in general, and he thinks witty means balling your fist and punching your keyboard. And yeah he was all butthurt about someone asking how his team makes money
