I wouldn't say any of his posts were "nit-picking" and most of the threads he posts in are specifically meant to be argumentative discussions. If it had nothing to do with that post in particular it seems rather capricious. He only has a handful of posts since his last ban and they don't seem to merit a ban either individually or collectively.
well when your basically told you have one more chance than continue to make questionable posts at a certain point your probably going to cross the line and get banned. can't say I'm going to miss either of them honestly. hopefully someone doesn't open a thread in web feedback blaming Kwark though. (Joke's becoming a little dated since it hasn't happened in a while but oh well I'm still using it.)

Finally someone banned sam. He was not worth having around. Sure he seemed more intelligent than the average poster and had controversial opinions that sparked discussion, but he was also an asshole. I was just discussing with Shellbot yesterday that I eagerly await the hero that finally pulls the trigger.

I honestly don't get why Sam was banned. I even reported him once for that comment about jerking off baboons or whatever (with the baby's first nietzche) but that was because it was nothing but an attack. I found the comment he was banned for to be fairly benign, and fairly similar to his usual posts, while being more interesting and intelligent than 99% of posters. Oh well.

tl moderation is not doing itself any favors picking that post as a "trigger post". not particularly fierce, on-point. look below it f.ex, more abrasive, delivered with a blatant disregard for the topic at hand (ww1 anti-war movement consisted of...). chalk it up to poetic justice.
seems fairly obvious that he was banned for chastizing moonbear. extremely tragic considering what sparked their feud long ago (atrocious moderating). i too hold a personal grudge against moonbear (atrocious moderating), but i have learned from sam!zdat's misteak.
i could extract some really nasty liquid from the sour grapes on the last couple of pages... "chateau bruise d'ego, excellent vintage, sir", but "the best vintage is the vintage we have to sell". tl moderation is about to make another mistake.
on a related note for a good while now i have been giving boblion the benefit of the doubt, thinking that he was responding idiotically to sam!zdat's posting as tl-satire. believing it was did not make it so.

Actually, I didn't even see the Moonbear comment until AFTER I banned him. Just made me even more certain I'd made the right call.
