I completely understand setting a norm against his way of posting, but you can hardly fault him for not knowing exactly where the limits are given the literally thousands of times he's gotten away with that exact same thing. edit: to be clear, I'm not expecting mods to come and justify this decision. I'm just expressing my surprise. | ||

sam!zdat was just banned by EvilTeletubby. That account was created on 2010-10-14 03:45:55 and had 5559 posts. Reason: You're clearly never going to change. Go look for a place to argue and nitpick somewhere else on the internet. I don't really know who reported the post or why you would want to squash posts like that, even if there were 5,000 of them. I get the feeling that the lack of capitalization makes the post appear more flippant and that that bugs the mod more than the actual content of the post. Otherwise I don't see it. I don't think I've ever used the report button. There's clearly a good reason to stop spam and pages of posts without content, but I don't think sam's posts lacked content. On the contrary they packed a lot of content into as few, uncapitalized words as possible. Honestly it seems like sam got banned more for people's reactions to his politics than the content or quality of his posts. | ||

I wouldn't say any of his posts were "nit-picking" and most of the threads he posts in are specifically meant to be argumentative discussions. If it had nothing to do with that post in particular it seems rather capricious. He only has a handful of posts since his last ban and they don't seem to merit a ban either individually or collectively. | ||
