Oh man I just saw the nuke sign over sam's posts. I feel like we need to deliver a eulogy.
At first Sam's posts irritated me. He seemed like the typical extreme leftist spouting all sorts of rhetoric and making the usual claims about how evil capitalism was but not really backing up his claims. It just seemed so elitist and tiresome.
But when you look through his posts, you find that there's some real intelligence there...and when you press him for information he can share deep insights. Supporting this we have also come to know him as a prolific reader from the book thread, so we know he's a pretty informed dude.
Anyway, we'll miss Sam. He may have been TL's resident communist (marxist? Socialist-libertarian??) who raved a lot and got really animated, and he definitely posted a bunch of ridiculously complicated post-modern philosophy that aggravated our other resident philosopher Frogrubdown (I'm really glad we have a rational one  ), but in the end he was *our* Sam. His rants against consumerism and captialism were lovable =). It made for some good, wholesome entertainment that everyone could enjoy.
I'll miss you Sam. I hope we see you someday at the forefront of some Occupy movement. Then I'll take a trip down to the US just to give you a surprise hug, and ask you tons of questions. To this day for some reason I imagine sam is a bald black man (with glasses for the intelligence factor!). I wonder what he actually looks like?

I wouldn't necessarily say NEVER make more than one account. Ban-dodging, for sure never. But when you're bringing up something controversial (like the above poster was), and you wouldn't want to post that on your main account, then I can see there being a need for that. Examples would include illegal activity and accusing pro-gamers of maphacking. The guy above had a (in my view) valid reason to create another account because he was dealing with some controversial stuffs (hacked into someone's email and saw they were cheating in college. You wouldn't want to post about that on your main account).
I was thinking of making a website feedback thread about this case but thought that there wasn't really anything that needed to be done anymore. He already gave his story and would likely not use the account again after making that blog and reading the comments. I would have given him a few days before banning him just to give him an opportunity to reply to any of the comments though, but again - not a big deal.
