There's more to it but I've tried to keep this short and failed, their posts are below. You don't seem to understand the simple concept that the USA's capability for production has grown dramatically, yet the living standards of the vast majority of US citizens has not come anywhere close to paralleling that. It's indicative of systemic issues with the wealth distribution model and economic structure of the USA. So no, it's not something most 12 year olds could come up with.
