Hi everyone, I hope everyone's having a great summer, and I hope everyone is as excited as I am for another DC LAN! It's been ages since the last one happened, and hopefully this isn't too short of a notice for some of you!
With everyone off doing their own things now, and my pockets not being as deep as someone that isn't working full time and not a student, I can't guarantee a prize pool like the last one, but really, it's about hanging out with each other, having fun and eating some KBBQ anyways, right!?
Rob mentioned on twitter that it might be tough to get enough people to donate into a prize pool, so we can all play some archon mode games or something (I have 2 accts, and I'm sure at least some other people have extra beta accts they can spare for the day  ). If we have enough people to run a tournament, then we will totally make one!
When: Saturday August 8th, 2015. 3PM - 10PM (Registration starts at 3, and we will start around 4PM so we can get to KBBQ around 10)
Where: Monster PC: 7031 Little River Turnpike #13b, Annandale, VA 22003
Cost:
$20: Covers you for 12 hours at the LAN center, and will allow you to be in whatever we end up running! *NOTE: If you already have computer time, then you don't need to pay anything, you pretty much just need to pay for your time for the event*
Prize Pool:
$265: $65 from Richard and $100 from KJ Freeedom! Since the LAN center costs are for computer time, the prize pool will be from only donations.
We had a last minute donation by Vulak/Rob of $100 as well, thank you so much!
If anyone else would like to donate to the prize pool, feel free to post here! It would be awesome if we could get 16 players to show up and have a full bracket!

Format:
If there are enough people, we will have a Bo3 double elimination bracket, Bo5 winners semifinals and finals. Bo7 grand finals with winner of the winners bracket starting game up 1-0.
If there are not a lot of people, we will have a bunch of money matches (SC,BW,WoL,HotS,LotV Bo5 matches!?) or something until like 3-4PM, since it looks like some people aren't available til later but will show up for dinner. We will have a few different events throughout the day to make sure we aren't out until dinner time.

Maybe in the Starcraft sense I've been revived I've been pretty curious about the SC scene as of late, and it's a pleasant surprise to see BW being as active as it is currently. I'll probably start laddering in a week or so, but I'm going to be like a D- newb. How's life for you?

I think i'm not going to LAN after all (not that i was gonna play anyway). Family friend from out of town is comin' over and i think I have to babysit or somethin. ya'll have fun though

i will make ones of these lans some day but mostly to see the people who don't seem to be coming to this one, plus I randomly decided to pop on TL (its been months since i was last on) and i just found out it is this weekend and i can't make it this weekend anyway but maybe next lan.
By the way I'm rich now (joking but i do make a lot more money then i used too) I would gladly offer up some prize money if there is a decent sized group of people for a future lan. I could probably afford to recruit players and start a team or something crazy i had kinda given up starcraft, although i want to return and play some lotv and at least try it out.

hhmmm I might be able to play if I can skip out 3-5pm for my nephew's birthday party in Fairfax. If not, I'll just drop by to show support and of course bring my contribution to prize pool. I can't do the KR BBQ coz of ASL playoffs match at 9pm. But... GL HF ALL!

Oh man I remember meeting you at MLG Raleigh, I'm not on TL all that much either, but hopefully next LAN a lot of people can make it out, I'm gonna make sure to make a poll before choosing a date lol.

I'm sure ill remember u if i see you ^_^, i miss mlg, i could actually sponsor players, or pay for people to goto starcraft tournaments, I always dreamed of being able to do that stuff, now don't play any more but i would happily apply some monies towards the prize pool of the next lan in hopes that it will draw a big crowd
