In comparison: MLG Raleigh SC2: 14k$ Dota 2: 1000k$ LoL: 5000k$ I hope that the prize money for SC2 will grow as well. Either way, for eSport as a whole that is quite big and I embrace the additions here at TL.net.

Our League of Legends Forum has been active for a while now, and with the big $1 million Dota 2 competition coming up at IEM Cologne, we've decided to add a Dota 2 Forum as well. They currently show up on the sidebar under Sports and Games. For those that are concerned about StarCraft's status on TL, don't worry. This is only step 1 of our plan to completely phase it out from TeamLiquid, don't tell anyone. + Show Spoiler [Yes] + That last line was a joke. It's amazing this spoiler has to exist. BUT WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR HON!!!!!!!!!! Hot_bid trollin' the HoN community >.< ;( cool sub forums though =D

To be fair u cant compare it to mlg, which has a ridiculously low prize pool given its presitge/community hype. It'd be more fair to compare to gsl (120k) or nasl (100k), and those happen much more frequently over the year than dota2/LoL tournaments.
