LoL, while popular, isn't a competitive game and isn't in the spirit of TL, and we've seen 10 screenshots from DotA2. Why not add a CS:GO forum? imo these should be kept as subforums of Sports and Games and left at it. i disagree with things like it "isn't a competitive game" (good luck defending that logically. terrible competitive game maybe, but it is a game played competitively nonetheless), but otherwise yea, i don't get why these should get their own subforum. dota2 especially makes absolutely no sense to have as a forum, there's literally nothing to talk about other than threads that would be posted in general about announcements to the game. LoL community uses the Riot forums very heavily and the only reason i can see adding these forums is because of esports hype. that's kind of silly if you consider that you don't have a fighting game section or a shooter section. i do get that probably many people on TL play LoL, i played LoL for a while too, but a lot of people on TL probably play fighters as well. the distinctions that would make LoL sub-forum worthy over fighting games especially (i can maybe understand shooters since the genre as a part of esports is slowly fading) are virtually arbitrary to me unless there's something i'm not considering

It'd be more fair to compare to gsl (120k) or nasl (100k), and those happen much more frequently over the year than dota2/LoL tournaments. Even the biggest tour in SC2 is just 1/10 of the Dota 2 tour. And we don't know if it will be a one time thing, or if they will make more big tournaments. The game isn't even released yet.

Either you aren't a DotA player at all and you don't know that DotA 2 is just gonna be DotA 1 with better graphics, better game engine, and a more in depth online system, or your actually hoping that DotA 2 will have the awesome new online features that Valve says it will. DotA 2 is a weird case where basically the game WILL live up to the hype because it's essentially the same game as before. Anyone who hypes up DotA 2 is hyping up DotA 1.

In comparison: MLG Raleigh SC2: 14k$ Dota 2: 1000k$ LoL: 5000k$ I hope that the prize money for SC2 will grow as well. Either way, for eSport as a whole that is quite big and I embrace the additions here at TL.net. For the LoL part at least, the $5 million prize pool is across a year long season, and won't all be actual money (since they say "prize pool"), so I wouldn't worry so much about SC2 considering that's only for 1 weekend event in comparison.

Since there's going to be a new Counter Strike, as well as Fighting Games are doing tremendously well worldwide.

I hope there something to this DotA2/LoL thing that I'm just completely not understanding? Seems horribly random and out of line with other decisions. These are great games (granted, not really my cup of tea), and no offense to DotA/LoL players, but 100% of my experience with these communities has been completely the opposite of everything TeamLiquid stands for. I feel like I'm being trolled or completely missing something important.
