Good on you for helping out the UK SC2 community! London: 600k for a 2 bed flat above a shop Plymouth 450k for a 5 bedroom house with a pool and an acre of land. There's no real contest there With events coming to Plymouth, and London being a couple of hours on the train for anything else. the location feels good, accessible. :D Well it should also be noted Plymouth is cold and damp being right next to the sea.
You mean, on average having the warmest temperatures in the UK, being furthest south? I think that's what you meant! couldn't possibly be speaking out your ass xD

I added more in you reply so fast
I went to Plymouth this past august & september and it was cold and damp and everyone told me it was like that a lot. I should really ask my sister who actually lives there hows its been throughout the year.
And london you can easily get a 3 bedroom house with garden, kitchen, full size bathroom for well under 300k(I should know I helped to buy extra 2 recently) Zone 4. if you want to go Central central you'll pay out of your arse. But i'm only 25min from victoria or london bridge so I dunno how central ppl 'need' to be.

yeah I'm not sure either. but its not a big problem really . If people want to set up in London, good on them ^^ - I'd just be glad to not have to pay for it on average the prices are much much higher, and like has been said already, there really isn't much benefit for it
Some seasons there's no rain at all and 30+ every day for 2 months, other years, you get rain pretty much all summer. I hail from cambridge area, and it was the same there. It was the same in Boston (USA) and the same in the middle of france around Poitiers. Sometimes you get bad runs of weather, sometimes good. Nature man?!?!? how does it work :D:D
it snowed when i went to Jamaica :L - prolly cos its a tropical island xDDD

Weather shouldn't be a problem as long as the house has double glazing and good heating. Also ppl shouldn't need to go out anyways as they should be training.

To be honest, being English i wouldnt feel comfortable moving to a place where i couldnt complain about the whether. Think about all the spare time you would get...

This is slightly OT Eleaven, but do you think you could hook me up with some practice partners? I've been having trouble finding people on EU who are actually willing to play with and help someone who's unranked and never played SC before. My SC2 thing is Mackem.496 if it helps.
Cheers.

I don't know any of high skill/merit that's gonna give away time freely, but there's a channel on EU entitled "Bronze Practice" That has a whole range of skill levels that help each other out and play games.
Try there mate!

Also, wondering if UK people are going to be participating in the Shropshire, telford i43 tournament at the end of august. Its moved from newbury and there is a sc2 tournament there and 2.5k is the minimum prize pool.
Holy balls, I hadn't heard of this. I'm in Telford all the time (it's my nearest cinema venue) I'll definitely be there. Less sure about entering though - I'm low diamond with no real incentive to get better - more of a spectator.

would players from the Usa be able to look into this if they were able to relocate?

Yes, we have a GM NA player considering the move. It's a fairly steep flight ticket, but he seems keen on the idea and he's a very nice guy.
Skype me.

Great news. Really want to see some major players in the pro-scene coming from the UK.
If I wasn't living with my girlfriend I'd actually be more inclined to stop laming team brackets and work on hitting mid-high masters 1v1 to be in with a shot in this house!
If things start getting rocky with her you might be hearing from me haha.
Either way goodluck with the house lads and do it for England!

London is central really. All transport links go to London, so often it's closer time-wise to many places, even if it's further distance-wise.
Nottingham/Derby is pretty cheap, £30-40 a room a week I would say. Birmingham isn't so much no where near London levels. scummy student accommodation its about £50 a room a week (25 a week if doing 2 per a room.) Been living in that type of house 4 years now but finally moving some where nice on the canal in July!
Those living below the Watford Junction seem to forgot about the rest England, which is shame as they are missing out on... not much tbh (Growing up in the Peak District has spoiled me )

UK has so beautiful areas, and it also has the midlands..
the top and bottom of the country are both nice imo. cumbria has its own cold windy allure, and down with the southern fairies.. yeah its pleasant here too. Never enjoy myself in the mids though haha. Probably get in trouble with friends for saying that.
(you didnt see me)

Honestly, if I didnt have uni, I'd just move in for the rent. Would be amazing to find something for that cheap to live in UK :0 even if you were sharing with 8 guys, which wouldn't be too much of a problem if everyone has a shared interest in the game.
Best of luck with it
