sweet, insta downloading that thing ill give you feedback
edit: OK tested it out shortly there's some threads it just doesnt seem to like, for me it crashes everytime I try to open the TL Shirt Contest thread. Not sure what makes those threads so different, most seem to work just fine.
I hope you plan on at some point adding the ability to log in and post
|
Pretty sweet!
Could you add a little padding on the text though, it's all tight up against the edges of my screen now.
|
Definitely going to try it out.
|
Downloading right now!!!
Edit: Ok, tried, and i got some ideas
-Main menu(Forum Sections) - Add last changed thread under the section name, if possible add more. No need for it to be linked. I would like to see if there is something new in each forum without the need to open it.
-Thread menu - Different background color for stickies. It is a bit confusing when everything has the same color
Gonna post some more ideas after I get home from work

I've figured out the crash bug. It'll be fixed in the next Beta release tonight.
Login/post is on the TODO list.

Certainly possible. Could you elaborate?

Just tried it on my HTC legend and it worked fine.
Some pages are long to load but I like how it work in geneal.
Keep up the good work !
|
Would it be possible to add upcoming events from TL calendar?
|
I like it so far. I would suggest adding headers to the main screen.
|
Gonna test it on my Droid X. Awesome, thanks a lot!
|
Samsung Moment here, running Droid 1.x.
Works awesome. wtb the ability to post.
Also, one of the LAST things you could do is add an Icon. Generic Marketplace icon is sad...
|
Very cool, I'll get this on my Droid X asap.
|
Great app! I'll definitely be using this for my thread browsing at work!
*edit - I'm using a Moto Droid 1
|
looks good (on my nexus) i have a ton of suggestions but they're all aesthetic in nature so i guess i could combine them all into saying: i really really hope you take the time to polish this app as much as possible after the functional aspects are finished. TL deserves it <3
as for functional aspects, the only thing i got so far is trying to vote in a poll=force close(i assume cause it brings you to a login screen and the app goes 'wtfux')

Thanks. I will investigate the poll-crash bug. There's certainly a lot of UI polish which will be done on an ongoing basis.

This is sick, nice to see the android community getting some love. Will download and test for sure since I'm such a forum whore.

Supports v1.5 (version code 3) or higher. That's as low as the SDK will go - should work on almost all phones.
Try searching for TeamLiquid as all-one-word and as two words. Let me know if that helps. Otherwise, you may wish to download and install the APK file directly (see installation option #2 in the OP).

Great piece of software! More fun on the toilet!^^b Kick ass seriously, makes browsing the forums a breeze on Android... which is what 30% of my time on the phone was spend doing anyway.
Works beautifully on a stock Desire HD. The only issue I ran into so far is that it was slow to come up after unlocking when I left the phone locked for a while, but I have not been able to reproduce that. Will let you know when I have a more accurate bugreport.
Suggestion: Kick ass horse logo for the app if TL will allow that. Because who would not want to sport that on their launcher?! Hell yeahh!

Try downloading the APK in the meantime for a manual install = win.

Added to the TODO list. The app populates the forums from the list of main forums the first time it runs. I'm thinking I can either hard-core this forum, or create the option to add additional forums.

I promise to look into this. I've double checked that the region is set to "all countries". It's possible that it takes some time for the app to propagate across marketplaces. Or there could be something else going on.

Got an error with the first topic I tried to open. Just a random one in the news section.
Sent the report, don't know if you receive them.
Sidenote: Looks cool. Looking forward to use it more on the go.

Banning is currently possible by using external tools.
1. Select post of the user you would like to ban. Scroll so it wil be approximately in the middle of the screen. 2. Put your phone on a flat surface 3. Take a big hammer 4. Hit phone with the hammer. Length of ban is derived from nuber of hits.

Has aesthetic customization been covered yet? Primarily, I was thinking maybe a font size option, that won't break the layout, for people with bigger fingers for example as well as color change etc.

Do you mean configuration options to let you change the font-size, colors, etc... ? That's definitely possible. I'd really like TL's input on what they'd like to have customizable. I only have one device to test the layout (and my finger size is average); so on-going feedback on how the app looks on your device would be really helpful.

if we can add/edit forums, then the moderators can use it. I'm not sure that we can use it for the banning and moderation, but it would be nice if we could view only using it.

Yes, that would be great. Though I'm sure all of us would like to see login compatibility first. I use a Motorola Droid so I'd be happy to help on that end.

Looks like it wont show user icons of EvilTeletubby and Liquid`Nazgul Possibly because of oversized icons.
Updated from 1.2 to 1.5 today and speed increase was extreme. Love it.

I'll continue making optimizations to get the app running as fast as possible. If you haven't already, you should update to the most recent version.

Nice find!
This one took me a while to figure out. Those users icons are different than others; they are rendered using JavaScript (I think it's to make sure they display correctly in Netscape browsers).

I just downloaded this for the first time on my droid x and it's worked flawlessly in the first 10 minutes I've played with it. I'm really impressed with how fast everything loads! Great job so far! Now, if we could only watch streams on the app too... :-)

For nested quotes there is a nice blue bar on the left when they are opened. Could it be added to normal quotes too? Even better would be if quotes would start after few empty spaces and with a smaller text (so it would look like quotes on TL)
Readability of text that would be like + Show Spoiler + Text --------- Quote --------- Text --------- Quote --------- Text
would be much better like current
+ Show Spoiler +Text --------- Quote --------- Text --------- Quote --------- Text in my opinion
Edit: Had to add code tag, TL is not accepting free spaces at the start of the line

When I upload the app to the Android marketplace it gives me a list of countries to choose from (including European countries). I have it set to "All locations". I'm not sure, but I hypothesize it may take some time for apps to propagate across regions.

This is an amazing app! Made an account just to compliment you on it If I was to make a suggestion I would say to add a button when you scroll to the bottom to load more posts without the need to press the menu button. Also maybe at the beginning a button at the top to jump to the last X# of posts. A way to tag threads as favorites and come back to them would be great as well! Overall very nice work, the app is smooth and it looks great.

Searching in the market still doesnt work either.

This new update broke a lot of stuff for me, it probably breaks for anyone that is a moderator/admin/etc. I only see the user information header, couple admin links, and no post body. The reply box is totally broken and I only see parts of code. You might want to add a logout function asap

Sorry to hear that. Could you give me more info about what happened?

Sweet in theory. But I definatly won't be using it for a very very long time. I've just learned to deal with using TL on the regular old phone internet. That to me is better than getting spammed by force close messages and dealing with horrible screen shifting

Would it be possible to add 'Remember Me' checkbox to login page?
Wow phone posting working Could you add auto refresh after adding post? Also after login it could jump to forums automatically.

testing testing the post function. seems to be working real well. I live this app, keep patching it till it becomes perfect like all of blizzard's games. :-)
keep to the good work
|
A remember me function would be awesome. It's kind of a pain to log in everytime... but that's sheer laziness. :D
Also, and Exit Button would be awesome! There are times where I just want the app to close and do something else and cutting out the screen, then flipping the screen back on and doing my motion screen unlock is weird since every other app i have has an exit button. (sometimes i have to hit back in excess of 4-5 times.)

I love it. Aside from the never ending request for more speed I would like to suggest you add current page, number of pages, and jump to page x functions. Being able to go through the pages of a sub forum (ex. general) would also be welcome. Keep up the good work.

With regards to categorizing the subforums, I'll see what I can do. Pulling each forum category list takes time, and I need to work out the best way.
With regards to auto-refreshing the thread after submiting a reply; maybe this could go as a configurable option? My line of thinking is that after submiting a reply, many users want to return immediatly to the forum post list as fast as possible. Forcing a thread refresh would put in a 5-8 second delay in this process.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but is it possible to show which forum you're browsing? I'm talking about adding current forum to the gray/black bar on the top with "TeamLiquid" so that if I'm browsing Sports & Games forum it would say "TeamLiquid - Sports & Games" or if I'm browsing Starcraft 2 Tournament forum it would say "TeamLiquid - Starcraft 2 Tournament"
Thanks for this app btw!

testing reply function..
jjf w landscape enter button acts like a space although only in landscape? odd... anyway update looks good, gonna test some stuff now :D
edit: minor requests: -edit function ( i know you're working on this) -when you refresh, possible to have it remember which area of the page u were on so u dont have to scroll all the way down again? -i tried posting in a closed thread, nothing happened. i guess that's good? maybe not show the option at all? -mafia forum http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/index.php?show_part=31 ? --i know the forum list is hard-coded but i know there are groups of users that have access to other forums, mafia, mir, etc, i wonder if its possible to accommodate without listing every single forum (that user may or may not have access to) when logged in.. something to think about? -refreshing forum list also goes through the login procedure again? -viewing a thread and switching from landscape/portrait acts as a refresh as well. intended?
that's it for now i don't know how much (if any) of this helps or not i only spent maybe 10 minutes on the bright side the app didn't crash even once. =D
and awesome progress btw, this is really starting to take shape. really fast too hehe

Actually, the forum list is both hard-coded and fetched. The first time you view the forum list, it grabs the list from teamliquid.net/forum and stores it in a database. The League of Legends forum is hardcoded. I plan to add the option to manual add a forum (e.g. you'd enter the forum name, URL)
-refreshing forum list also goes through the login procedure again? Definitely a bug. I will check this out.
-viewing a thread and switching from landscape/portrait acts as a refresh as well. intended? Not as intended. Will add to the TODO list.

I thinks this post (on Reddit) sums it up nicely:
ryansmith18 Gotta say, this sounded kinda dumb and reptetitive for a phone that has a browser built in. I have TL bookmarked and all, hasn't been an issue.
I was wrong. This app, as simpe as it is, makes browsing TL so much easier. I don't have to fiddle with resizing the browser or anything, and navigation is very easy compared to navigating the actual site on a 4 inch screen.
Go get it! http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/e1fp5/android_app_for_teamliquid_to_make_it_easier_to/

I can't read news threads
it just pulls up w/e news piece i'm looking at, like Liquid Weekly, and the OP only displyas the TL News logo, the title, and the date posted, but there's not content. The comments are all there and stuff, just, no news

Nope. it's just called TeamLiquid. We're both in Canada, so it should show up for both of us. The I've found the Android marketplace a bit wonky in last day or so. You may want to check again.

iirc all names are rendered the same way (i.e. blue names or red names are still just regular and non-bolded). confused me for a sec when i thought zatic got de-modded since he doesn't have a special icon or anything edit: also i believe, correct me if i'm wrong, there's a timeout limit when trying to "connecting to teamliquid.net" but there isn't one when "downloading data" i think i ran into that while trying to browse with a particularly shitty wifi signal. not like it really matters as you're sol either way, but i dunno. felt like pointing it out

I'll also look into the timeout issue - if I can't shorten the time-out I might make the activity cancelable (e.g. you can use the back button to get out)

just to clarify, the timeout works fine when it's at the 'connecting to tl.net' stage. after like a minute or so it pops up with 'check your connection'. it's after that stage, where it starts downloading the actual thread data (i'm guessing) that there isn't a timeout. or if there is, it's really long. either way, i think back button to cancel it would be perfect. =D
good work btw this app is kicking the TL iphone app's butt. hah!

Patch Notes:
- Improved overall application robustness
- Fixed a bug which may have caused some users to be unable to load the forum or thread lists.

I have good news & bad news. The good news is that on patch 0.2.8 the league legends forums load instead of giving a blank page ( pre 0.2.8 they wouldn't, now it shows all threads ). Bad news is that the league of legends forums are still the only ones that shows up.
I find it weird that its the league legends forums that show up considering its hidden for me when I access the site through the browser. You don't think it has anything to do with that ?

Just making sure: Did you refresh the forum list? I suspect something on your phone or phone's Internet service provider is modifying the HTML. If that's the case, I'll need to have a look at the HTML or else I'm just stabbing in the dark.
I find it weird that its the league legends forums that show up considering its hidden for me when I access the site through the browser. You don't think it has anything to do with that ?
Possible, but unlikely. The League of Legends forum is hard-coded into the app. When loading the forum list for the first time it downloads the forum list from teamliquid.net/forum then appends the LoL forum to the list.
|
Yeah I refreshed the list. Is there a way I can see if my internet service provider is modifying the HTML tho I highly doubt it considering I can just browse the forums on the phone's browser freely.
What did you change in 0.2.8 because it fixed the threads for the League of Legend forums which I couldn't see in 0.2.7 so I would think you're on the right track. Sadly enough I have almost 0 coding experience else I'd help out haha.

I would have your babies if you integrated the Liquipedia into this. Or made a Liquipedia app.

Sweet, great initiative! Just tested this a bit on my Desire Z and working great so far. Only thing is that it feels slower than using the regular browser.
Also I'm missing my banhammer!

This is great -- the only thing I don't like is that I had plans to do this myself. Great work though, using it on my Droid Incredible and it is working like a dream. THANKS!

Love it! Simple and easy. Could be slightly faster, but definitely better then browser zooming. Using it on htc Desire.

Working great so far for me. Much faster than using a normal web browser on my phone. Posting this from my Galaxy S Fascinate.
Also, I think meat was referring to admin powers when he meant banhammer - which wont be possible im assuming, since you are basically parsing and reformatting. edit: public html

I searched Team Liquid and a few of its variations but I can't find this app on the market... The only app result I get is something called searchcraft. I live in New Zealand if that makes any difference.

On 0.2.9 I can use my posts to reply in this thread because it loads all threads. Still doesn't load the forums tho, it skips the device loading in comparison with my posts.

i got the same problem as well... my market can't seem to find the app
i'm on Android 2.1 for the xperia x10 mini pro and i guess the problem is that your app won't show up for phones with screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels (or just lower than 480x) my GF's phone xperia x10 (480 x 854 pixels ) finds the app in the market but is somehow unable to download it
anyways manually downloading and installing the app works on the x10minipro (android v1.6. and v2.1.) but it's a bit inconvenient to do this for every new build
otherwise a great app ...thx for your effort!
EDIT: i did some research and there is an issue with the android builds from sony ericsson not showing all apps on the market (due to resolution or other defaults) there is a work-around with rooting the phone and replacing the market app itself but for now i won't try that
EDIT 2: thanks for the tip abyss (poster below) but that didn't work because google somehow removed the ability to install from appbrain directly i just updated my market app and now everything works fine found the TL app on the market dl'ed and installed it
so all in all my phone manufacturer's fault

I saw this thread while lurking around and just wanted to bump it and express how much I love this application on my Droid.
Seriously, this is such a great application. beats trying to view the forums in a browser.
For some small requests, of which you've probably already considered/working on: -Edited this request out because I apparently missed that it was already added in an update. derp- -Super bad. This request was also added. You're awesome. You even beat me to my requests-
For those having difficulty finding the application and don't want to root their phone, I use AppBrain App Repository, it might fix your problem and it's completely legit (it's just an enhancement to the normal market). Try that if you don't want to root.
|
Just dled the app, posting from my Droid X. So much easier to browse the forums rather then loading up the tl site on Opera.
Like what i see so far, keep up the good work!

Great app, but nestered spoilers are not working in my Droid and the login screen is not "scrollable.
EDIT: sometimes the virtual keyboard gets in the way of the post button, forcing me to use the physical keyboard.

Just a quick thing. Much of the time when using the on screen keyboard, it covers up the bottom portion of the text. On a Moto droid 1. Thanks for the great app :D

I think there's some option in the marketplace app to update all installed apps. I'll look into it and see if it's possible to have an auto-updater built into the app.

What's your phone's brand/model? Some users seem to have this issue. It could be a delay in the app propagating to new markets, sometimes the phone make actually blocks out some marketplace apps, or it could be another issue (I'm trying to work it out). If you can't find the app on the marketplace, I suggest installing the APK file directly as described in the OP.

My Posts and PMs work besides that when I try to post a new post through my posts it doesn't get posted.

Hey Toss, Is it just me or is the spacing when you go to post a few lines down so it looks like you hit Enter a time or 2 before posting... I had this occur on a few occasions and it still "looks" like that in the preview when I am typing but it seems to turn out fine once posted... was just wondering if that was me or if it was some kind of bug.

This seems to be a problem due to the Wildfire's screen resolution. Some people seem to be getting around this by rooting the device and install market enabler. I'll see if there's anything I can change on the app configurations to make this problem go away.

Hello there. First off, I want to say great app. I have noticed a few things when using your app though. I have a small list. 1. I didnt know where this thread was. Had to google it, then see where it was. Then go back into the app so I could post. Any way you can incorporate forum search? Possibility?
2. Biggest issue I have is not being able to view spoilers within spoilers. For example, if you have ever gone to a GSL Ro## Day# thread, you'd know that you cant read half of the information because of the spoiler chains.
3. Another thing I just noticed is when typing a reply, keyboard shortcuts don't work. Double space for period. And my phone isn't adding punctuation or correcting my spelling/punctuation.
I made an account to post this since 90% of the time I am on TL, it is using your app. So tyvm. keep up the good work.

woo! posting from my Moto Droid 1. App is freakin awesome man. will do a little (lot) of exploring while at work and let you know if I have any ideas!

Anybody else sometimes experience spoilers not un-spoilering themselves when clicked?

2. Thanks for the information. I'll run some tests and get this fixed this week.
3. I'll see what I can do.

oof, editting took long enough where I decided to force close and start a new reply...lol
one thing I am having a problem with on the Moto Droid 1 is that on the login page in landscape mode, you cant scroll the screen down to see My Posts or PM.
so far everything else looks great!
edit works ...and the above embedded spoiler is a trap!!!
crash and return to login.

Version 0.2.13 released!
Patch notes:
- Fixed a bug which prevented embedded spoiler tags from appearing.
- Fixed a bug which could cause the application to crash when closing a spoiler which contained another spoiler.
- Made the login view scrollable to help users access all the buttons when in landscape mode, or when viewing on a smaller screen.

Been using this quite a bit. Thanks for doing this. Really well done.

This app keeps getting better and better.

hooray for spoilers working =] this app is really useful and you seem to take feedback and post/update right away. cant thank you enough man!

I'd like to thank you for this application, i've been using it allot with my new HTC Desire HD. An option would be to make it able to check all the pages of a certain topic. (like the "All" button here on the forums)

Works great on my Samsung Galaxy S, and I'd like to say that the maker of this app is the reason that I've not paid attention in a linear algebra lecture for a long time. =D

I'll see what I can do about this. The HTC Desire is a real power-horse of a phone. Other phones may struggle at rendering hundreds posts.

Concerning seeing "All the posts in a thread":
I agree that it may break some phones in terms of processing power. Giving us either the option to do that, or giving us a submenu to jump to a certain page. Like my calender app has a "More" button when I hit the menu button to bring up things like views or add events, or view the agenda.
That would be pretty neat.
Questions? PM me and I'll see if I can articulate it better. Possibly with poorly drawn MS paint diagrams........ >.>

hi. using the tl app on my Droid incredible! it is working quite well for me. really excited to see what else you can add to it.

I can't seem to find the app on the Android Marketplace

^ Search "teamliquid"
Great app, I use it on my LG Ally.
No bugs, work's great. I'm able to browse the actual tl.net website just fine on my lg ally, and the Dolphin HD browser has a mobile view to load things faster. Still, this app is faster.
Only complaint is not able to post new threads.

Thank you so much for fixing the spoiler tag thing. Feels pretty cool to have helped this awesome app get even more awesome. Going to donate a few irl minerals when I can.
I noticed I can't look at different pages of threads on the forums though.

Yes, they may no properly fit in the layout. And some phones do not have the processing power to resize the images. It may be something I will look back at later, or add an option to load all images.

Hi, can you describe exactly what is happening? When you first load the app, you should be presented with a login screen. Clicking on "View Forums" should bring you to a forum list. Does your forum list only contain LoL? In that case, push the menu button and click "Refresh Forums".

After refreshing it still only says League of Legends :\

With the latest update, it again doesn't work on my original Motorolla Droid. A previous update fixed it. Latest one... same problem as before.
What happens is it shows the list of forum names "SC2 Tourneys" etc, but once I select any of them, it, for instance, just has SC2 General at the top of the screen, and no threads underneath it. I've tried uninstalling and then redownloading from market. Same problem.

Also the file you told me to find wasn't there. The path didn't exist.

This is a great app. There is however 1 thing that keeps me using from using this app instead of the browser. I can't see how many pages a thread has and you can't jump to different pages. I don't know if this is possible but it would make an already great app so much better.

Over the next week I'll be making major improvements to application stability and performance.

Disregard my last post about not being able to view the threads on my Motorolla Droid. It works now. I think I just uninstalled it last night, reinstalled it, but didn't try it again after due to network issues at the time. It works as intended now.

- Option to disable smart parsing which may improve app stability on some phones at the expense of performance
- Thread page number now displayed in the activity title

HTC Desire HD still cannot access the regular forums on 0.2.18.
Upon loading the application you are given the Login/View Forum/etc menu. I select View forum and Only "League of Legends" is there.
Upon refreshing nothing changes.

It's been requested before, but I don't see it in the TODO list. So in case it's forgotten: Please add TL calendar/event listing - http://www.teamliquid.net/calendar/2010/12/#day_16
I bet it's kinda tricky to do, since the events page is so long (for the whole month). That won't be fun to load and render on mobile devices.
I guess the alternative is to parse from TL Google calendar instead: HTML, XML, iCal
|
Newest update working incredibly smoothly on Evo. Thanks so much for your work.

Good, but there are some longish loading times but I blame the poor 3G coverage.
Also I can't compare it to performance with smart parsing as it doesn't work for me! :D

Fucking awesome app dude. TLnet is basically the only website I browse on my mobile phone, and since it's a very small Xperia X10 mini I have to scroll all the time to hide the left bar because otherwise there's no space left for the posts themselves. But with your app there's no need for that at all, it's fucking great, thank you!
Small note: No idea why, but when I browsed to the OP, and clicked the link to the .apk, my phone opened it as a .txt, and saved it as a .txt as well when I hit previous and did a "Save link as", so I had to rename it manually to .apk before installing.

If someone could post the exact error message it will help me narrow down the problem. Any additional information would be great. Does the connection message always show up? Can you view the forums after a several attempts?
|
I haven't had the issue at all on my Droid Incredible.
One issue I've noticed is that PMs don't update properly. I was talking back and forth for a bit with someone through PMs and found that if I had a new PM, I couldn't see it using the app. I'd have to use my phone's browser or use a browser on a computer.
|
Just got a droid 2, seems to work great. No problems yet.

Here is my diagnostic. Phone Samsung Transform (Latest firmware)
I open the TL app I enter Username and Pass and it accepts this and successfully logs in. As soon as I click "view forums" A popup comes up on my phone that says "Connection Error" underneath the title prompt it says. It says "Please check your phone's internet connection. And the only choice I have is to hit "Okay"
The only thing I can see right now is Pm's.. I could not get My Posts to come up.
This comes up 5/5 times. Restarted the phone 2 of those times to see if that made any difference.
Let me know if you need any other information. I have also tried Reinstalling the app but the same problem persists.

UPDATE :: I was able to fix this problem by selecting Disable Smart Parsing. However this greatly effects the speed of application and of course is not optimal. So maybe it is something within Smart Parsing itself?
Hope this helps!

Upon loading the application you are given the Login/View Forum/etc menu. I select View forum and Only "League of Legends" is there.
Upon refreshing nothing changes.
Disable Smart Parsing and it works on the HTC Desire HD.

Thanks. This gives me a really good idea on where the problem may lie. I'll look into it first thing when I resume work on the app Monday.

Great. Glad you're finally able to get the app running. =) How is performance affected?

Never were able to run it with smart parsing so I can't say how the performance went from able to disabled but it does run smooth.

This app is a great thing but for some reason I get a lot of force closes on my samsung epic. Reading through the thread now though. Not too big a deal since I can always use my browser to surf TL but this app is awesome so I'd love to use it regularly!

Ok it sometimes deletes the whole message when trying to edit the content of a post also on the main screen I get the text pad coming up and I can't choose to check my pms though this may just be me being a noob at this and not knowing how to use the captivate I got today lol also swype doesn't like starcraft terms so I may decide on standard text input instead. If others have a captivate or swype capable phone with their experiences let me know here our in a pm thanks

Thanks for this awesome app!

Does it crash on everything thread or just some? Try going into settings and disabling smart parsing.

I think this is a bug with really short posts. I will get around to fixing it eventually.
|
Something that just recently came up, for no reason I have found, is that clicking "My Posts" is 100% chance of crash, makes it a pain to hunt down your community threads cause its such a high volume section, haha.
Not sure if it is a setting or whatever. everything else works awesome (as it always has) and I'm posting from my Droid X now.

Great app so far. I think it shows a lot of promise, but others could use some polish. Is this still under development? Is it open source or looking for more contributors?

I've been occupied since January doing work and preparing for interviews. Once things settle down I'll resume work on the application. It's always been my intention to open-source the app in the future.

One minor suggestion: Can you move the Last Page button to the first level navigation? It's the one button I use the most. In fact it's almost the only button I use on the menu.
|
Even though I doubt I'll ever use it, it's cool as shiet!
|
I'm not sure if I'm the only one encountering this problem, but I do not see highlighted players in the Strategy forum when using the App.
Thanks again for the App, I use it every day.

Is the search function ever going to become available?

On March 16 2011 13:15 Drakan wrote: :'( can't find it via marketplace . Step 2!
I had this problem using a HTC Wildfire, as some others have mentioned above, when using the phones marketplace app.
Using the marketplace through an Internet browser finds the app but displays the Wildfire as incompatible.
To get the app on Wildfire: go to the link that's in the op with your phone: http://thoughtmetric.com/teamliquid/apk/teamliquid Beta 0.2.22.apk
Thanks for this app!
Now I just want to get to those nasl vods on justin.tv and my commute will be the highlight of the day, anyone got a convenient solution?
|
Thanks and so useful. So glad I went Android instead of iPhone.
|
Not sure if this has been brought up or not, but will there be a search function to this app in the future? If already answered could you direct me to the answer?

This app works great, however for some reason whenever I go into the mafia subforum of TL it crashes, anyone know whats up with that?
Other than that its great, many thanks for producing it ^_^
|
Any chance of a sort of "View Offline" feature, where you can save some threads to the phone and view them when you're away from 3g / wifi?
|
Thanks for this app! I love the idea, however, only League of Legends forum appearing. Can't find settings or filters anywhere. Somebody has a clue what's happening?
Solved: should disable fast parsing
|
Great app so far, thanks for making it
Is it not possible to view the mafia forum atm? Would love to be able to do that.

For some reason the app tells me I have put in an incorrect username/password. Is thus happening to others? I find the app easier to use on my phone than the mobile site. Except when I need to report people
|
I've made some changes to some forms on TL, the login form included. That may be why the app is failing if it is submitting its own login details instead of going through the page.

completely agree Would love it if R1CH could get a hold of the source code so any further login changes can be reflected in the app we all love so much its part of the reason I chose android over apple

I've got the same problem. Decided to try the app tonight and thought I'd forgotten my password when I tried to log in. I even came on here on my computer, changed my password, and tried the new password, but it still didn't work.
Layout is beautiful and runs quite well. Haven't had a load time of over 1 second yet for any page on Motorola Droid (purchased Dec 2009). Awesome job!

Awesome app, would it be possible to include the stream section aswell?
Also, I can't login either, samsung galaxy s 2 .

It's not the app, it must be tl.net who changed auth method maybe? Anyways it must be fixed by an update on the app :p

Yeah, it looks like the developer has not posted on TL in a couple of months. This app is way too cool when it works though.

Still doesn't work It's a shame it was an epic app. I still use it to lurk when I'm not at home and bored.

Those who miss this app, use the Opera Mobile browser if you don't already. The text reflow from Opera is absolutely amazing and makes browsing TL (and everything else) a easy breeze.
|
FWIW before the App broke, I found a bug...
When you go to "my posts" the app will crash and force-close if you have posts in non-public forums. Haha.
Here's to hoping for an update to the authentication problem!
|
Was this an official release or just some dude with time on his hands? If it is the latter I would be interested in taking a crack at it (although it would probably be a while before something came of it cuz of time constraints >.>)
|
I just got my first ever smartphone a couple days ago after years of going with the heavy duty "throw me in a puddle under a bus and i'll still work" phones I decided its time to live it up (that and the phone in question [EVO 4G] was only $20!)
I was really excited, got home, spent a couple days customizing everything i possibly could and adding apps, one of the first things to get? TL app obviously!
If only it worked properly :'(
Until then, Opera does a good job of handling the site but it's just not the same. Maybe the guys over at TLAF could expand into/start dabbling in the android market (just a thought!)
|
I cannot seem to log into the android teamliquid app. Keep's saying invalid username/password. Even thou I put the same thing in my browser and it works...What the heck? >_<
Oh and details on my phone: Google Nexus S Samsung ( full updated, non-rooted)
Edit: So it's the developers fault?? If so, the OP needs to update and tell others. OR fix the problem.

If you're not going to finish an app, pass on the project to someone else. -_-
|
:/ doesn't seem like this is going to get finished. For now guys, TL has a mobile browser version that is pretty smooth and it works fully. If you can, use it for now :3!
|
Same Login problems for me here, also the new subforums in Sports & Games do not show

I really wish he or someone would update it... I've been using this since it came out and all these issues have been plaguing me for what seems like forever now. Not to mention I can't see the Diablo 3 sub-forums ; ;

Hey guys.
First, I want to apologize to everyone for being MIA for such a long time.
I've fully open sourced the project under GPL 3. The source code may be found here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/tlandroidapp/
It's my first time open sourcing anything. It's my intention that development of the TL Android App become a community owned endeavor. So I've released the source code under the most liberal software license out there.
In short, you may modify and re-distribute the application; but you must offer the source code so others may do the same.
|
Cool. Anyone going to update it?
|
I find R1ch's (official) mobile site better. Its not as clean but its faster...
|
I use this app everyday! :D
|
Why does it keep telling me I have an invalid login?
|
On November 14 2011 04:24 Trogdor wrote: Why does it keep telling me I have an invalid login?
the app is no longer supported, but the source code is open, so maybe you could code the new login yourself. I know the new TL website update screwed alot of things up on the app, pretty much neeeds a lot of new code to work.
|
I just want an easy way to check the streams list. Functionality like the chrome plugin is what I'm seeking
|
Wish this app could get fixed, loved it for the short time I had it.
|
Can't even open the forums since I updated my Droid X. It was useful before to browse forums (couldn't log-in though), but now I can't even browse the forums, it Force Closes on me instantly.
Using regular internets on forums is soooooooooo slow compared to how this app used to work.
Please update!

Yeah the league of legends was once a hidden forum. And was hardcoded into the list of forum, this is why you can only see it.

January the 4th 2011 :D
I'll make an apk available at the end of this week where you'll be able to browse the forum at least. Don't know about the login, it works but it's buggy because the management of session changed on TL.net.
@ravemir: I'll make a github for the tlandroidapp. Send me a PM if you want to code we will organise ourselves.
