Everyone is welcome to stay for casual LAN Gaming & Socializing after the tournament
Sign-in Phase: 11:30am – 12:30pm
Once you come in, find HiTRetz and have your name checked off.
Proceed to the main desk (ADMIN) to pay your Tournament fee and have your PC Activated with the two initial hours included in your registration fee.
You will be Two Numbers. One will sync or “title” you to one of the thirty two computers that were reserved for the event. The second number will be randomly generated which will determine your Bracket placement for the tournament. Initially there will be two Groups, A & B. For Round #1, only 8 matches will be played at once using Computers A1-16. After the match is complete and the results are submitted, Group B Players with matching numbers will be asked to take their spot to play the match.
Total of 32 participants will be split into two groups, Group A and Group B. If your bracket number is A1-16 you will be placed in Group A. Players with bracket numbers B1-16 will be placed in Group B. The only computers that you are allowed to play the Tournament on are A1-16. So there will be minor moving for RO-32
Set-up Phase 12:30-1:00pm
During this time players will have time to “ready-up” for their matches. This includes reading through
the rules of the tournament and adding your opponent to your Friends List.
We will also be conducting a 10 minute Trial Run that will test the performance of our current network running Starcraft II on 32 computers simultaneously while on Bnet.

WHAT:
We are proud to announce the launch of Mercenary Camp, a Starcraft2 LAN event that will take place in Toronto, Canada. The first tournament will serve the purpose of gathering and building a community of competitive Starcraft2 players within the region.
WHEN:
The event will kick off September 11th, 2010 @ 12:30 Noon sharp.
Sign-ins start at 11:30
LOCATION:
After a long search for an ideal place that would be aboard with us to bring you a great LAN experience, be flexible with multiple events afterwards and provide enough room for all of us, we choose HappyTurbo Located just north of North York Centre.(1 subway station from Finch Station). They have successfully hosted LAN Tournaments for DotA that ran prize pools of over $2,000 in prizes. We are aiming for this in the near future.

EVENT DETAILS:
The format will be a 32 player, B01 until Quarter Finals. Quarter Finals & Semi-Finals will be B03 and Finals will be B05.

The cost to participate in this tournament, along with your initial 2-hour Computer Use will be $10. Additional time can be purchased for participants and spectators for a special flat-rate of $2.00/hr. To register, you need to reply to this thread and include all of the following:

Next, head over to mobility-gaming.com and follow these easy steps to finalize your participation;
1. Register your personal account on our website
2. Go to your email to active it
3. Log in & click on "Tournaments" in our navigation bar.
4. in "Tournaments" click "Game accounts" then scroll down to "Blizzard: StarCraft 2"
5. Once you have filled out your info you click "Tournaments" again. You will then see "Singles Area" in bold red letters,
Click that & click "Apply" to the latest tournament.

All applicants will be considered on a first-come first-serve basis. Once the tournament registration is full, we are also accepting Back-ups in case someone doesn't show up. In that particular case, I will send you a PM on team liquid and include your place in the "line-up".

All you will need to bring is your headset if you wish to use one. If you want to bring your mouse and keyboard that is up to you.

i went to this internet cafe today, the owner was really nice and the place looks great!
a couple things to note for those interested:
- the monitors are 19'' 4:3 with 1280x1024 resolution, kinda weird for those used to wide screen.
- the GPUs (at least the one on the computer i used) was an ATI Radeon HD4600, fairly reasonable sporting about 50 fps on low settings
- the keyboards are not dt35's, as are at YK, but they are fairly reasonable. one problem however is that the right control key is set to something on the korean option, and cannot be used to create control groups (as others i know use for ctrl+0/9/8/7).
looking forward to the games tomorrow!

We have possesion of 32 computers. I believe that the one you were using is part of the 16 which weren't the best. The other 16 computers I believe can run the game pretty well on medium/high.

apparently i have a stomach problem from something that may be food poisoning which means i don't feel hunger anymore, so i'll probably just skip lunch and play all the way through.

Thanks to everyone who came to participate and spectate the event. We will be hosting bigger and more exciting events in the near future. Congrats again to our winner Antimage. I think Canada is doing great in the esports scene for Starcraft2 and we want to make sure Toronto plays a big part in that.

My most sincere apologies go out to JF and the Fnatic crew. I'm terribly sorry JF was unable to get past ro32. As a well respected and acknowledged player I would expect JF to be able to at least win one game, however, we can assume his excuse of, "My build didn't work", is completely legitimate and he is not actually a bad player.
Sorry your boy couldn't play starcraft whilst being a sponsored professional video game player.
