So my attempts in snatch went 80 - 85 - 88. then clean and jerk went 100 - 105 - 110x Was 5/6 which isnt so bad. I weighed under 65kg in the 69kg class. Next meet I will drop into the 62kg class. The next big american meet in the american open so i will try to qualify for that.
There were some really good lifters at the meet. One was on the Pan am team and another was a schoolage champ. I will post some videos and pics when i get some :D. Wow very nice, you can put up more than me and weigh like 60 pounds less than me rofl. Congrats! did you place at all?
Went for my first "run" today. basically 3/4-1 mile of intervals jogging and running (mostly just working on form, i want to be able to run at least a mile on the balls of my feet with good long strides somewhat soon) and a few walking breaks cuz my back was sor from deadlifting.

Are you sure man? When I cut out sugar (I don't even eat sweet fruit), my acne disappeared, and anecdotally I've heard others that experienced the same. I eat a ridiculous amount of cheese.

I think somewhere around the 4 eggs, half gallon of milk, and cheese that i eat every day i would have noticed in increase an acne...i haven't.

eshlow what are your thoughts on neck and back cracking (or just cracking in general)?? how detrimental is it to the bones??
i sometimes have these weird feelings with my neck and back (especially when i sit down for a long time) where they just don't feel right. then when i crack them that 'weird' feeling is gone and they feel much better. i stopped doing it for a while but unfortunately i've gone back to my old ways..

Dairy products cause some acne for those of us who aren't very tolerant of them... unfortunately.
But yes, sugar + processed foods (processed oils) are the main cause. Acne is glorified systemic inflammation gone haywire.

idk i've done a lot of reasearch on it lately and that's just what i found. I will also try to cut back on sugar though too.. but that will be really hard for me since i eat a lot of snacks/junkfood when i'm bored/hanging out... You guys have any suggestions of what to eat for snacks when you're bored or just tokin'?

Nothing wrong with snacks, just start off with snacks with low sugars or just less crap in it. Fig newtons come to mind or even a peanut butter sandwich, just avoid oreos (go for low fat if you must) and other sugar bombs. People will say eat fruits and snack on carrot sticks. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Make small changes and transition to fruits if possible. I made it as far as granola bars (kashi) and apples with peanut butter, again read the labels and pick the ones with the least amount of bad stuff for you.
I would try to cut back on soda (coke zero if you must) and juice (100% juice if you must with no added sugars), replace it with milk (chocolate for me!) and teas (NOT LIPTON!!) preferably made by yourself so you can limit the amount of sugars you put in.
I love chips, I dont care if I'm a type ii diabetic with 3 months to live, you can take the chips from my cold dead hands when i die from them. But even with these I've gone to mostly baked kettle chips. I still get the cheetos but portion control! If you eat out of a bag, you will finish the bag. What I do is get a bowl and pour some in, and I seal up the bag and I eat whats in the bowl while watching Bisu get owned by Hogil. Corn chips are good with dip for just hanging out, check the labels for a low fat salsa/dip.
Love snickers? Buy the snack size, eat two (dont lie, you cant just eat one tiny snicker) and make sure you eat it AFTER you put the bag away.
DISCLAIMER I'm 184 and 6'0 so I'm not skinny nor am I overweight, in fact I want to lose weight but I was 200lbs with no muscle about a year back. I've since start going to the gym twice a week and trying to eat a little better. There is less flab and more muscle now. I came to realization that I need to accept who I am. I'm lazy and I have a sweet tooth. I could try to deprive myself but itll just make me depressed and will not help with my goal. Be honest with yourself and make small changes, every little bit helps!

I would go the jerky/nuts/fruits/vegetable route.

I obviously do not agree with this.
For *most* people snacking a little is going to lead to snacking a lot. Most people do not have that type of willpower to stop when they start (me included sometimes). Thus, my advice would be to stay away from this stuff as much as possible.
Surround yourself only with healthy foods and you will eat healthy.
If you surround yourself with processed foods, you're never going to get the habit of not having them and they will negatively impact your health.

Mmm, cannot see. It just takes me to a page where I can view my friends' videos.

i crack my neck fairly often when i work out depending on how tight i am, sometimes i turn my head to the side during my warmup and it's like slowly pushing down on a bag of potato chips

Holy fuck. Did squats yesterday (5x10 225-295) so my legs were pretty sore. Then me and some kids from my college team decide to go to the local men's rugby practice who are one of the best in the country and training for nationals this weekend. The first half hour was conditioning basically running suicides with downups every 10 yards and push ups/situps/jumps inbetween with our breaks in the form of 200 meter jogs. Then a 1000 meters of suicides to end the practice (which i did 15 seconds faster than i could a week ago). so fucking tired. i needed it though i'm way too out of shape.

I 100% agree with eshlow that just having "bad foods" around you will cause you to eat them.
I spent the last few months having no problems avoiding all sorts of sugar/flour products, but as soon as I spent time in a place where there were sugar products in the fridge, Nature took over X_X

Yeah I read a bit of the magazine too. Kenny Farris might just medal in 2012. He recently hit a 218 clean and very nearly got the jerk. His snatch is not so good and that might limit him, but I'd say it's possible for him to bronze.
