man it's been a while since i last posted in this thread. damn ISP took ages to fix the net.
anyway in the last two weeks since i stopped working out (i've kinda outgrown the weights here at home) my diet has turned to shit. i've just been stuffing myself with pizza, fast food, ice cream and iced tea. last few days have been the worst though, i think i've gained half an inch already on my waist it just tastes so damn good lol.
good thing i bought myself a dip belt. i'll be joining a gym real soon (either this week or next week). so hopefully i'll be back on track within the next few weeks. i still have some plateaus to break!

I've been running a lot more often, trying to build up to run a marathon. After running a 10 mile trainer, i came home to find two black and blue toes, one on each foot. For awhile, i thought i would keep the toenails, but eventually one came off.
As it grew back I became worried since it wasn't "tight" against the toe. I threw a band aid over it, clipped it back a bit. Even with this, it eventually detached right at the top of the toe.
Anyone have any practical advice on what i should do? I thought about superglue, but for right now I've just got a band aid over it again.

That's why it's probably better to do sprints if you could have... Don't worry it comes back easier the second (or third.. or more) time around.

I've heard superglue working...
But yeah you might wanna talk to a podiatrist or google that extensively.

Yeah videos would be cool. What are you planning on for your openers and what are your current training prs?
I'm going to start getting oly coaching on monday. My weightlifting shoes just arrived today, they're the silver wei-rui's. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow.

i recently spoke to a former lifter friend (he used to train for competition about 2 yrs ago) and man i couldn't believe his PRs. 385 squat, 445 DL, 200 bench. this was at a bodyweight of 140. his bench was pretty weak compared to his other lifts but still pretty solid.
much respect to all the lifters out there.

I've moved home for the summer and I've got to say I missed my parent's nice exercise equipment. I hate running, but it's good for me and a treadmill makes it bearable. Every time I get in a good morning workout I feel great all day.

I am starting to prepare for air force again so ive started running uphill, 3 hours after my morning strength workout
hope it doesn't fuck me over too much

I'm back home and seeing this thread makes me want to start up running again. Any good running workouts??

Got a fever now and it's only a about month left until a rather important cycling race. Really annoying knowing that everyone else is out riding and I'm at home losing shape. A common cold is not so bad but fever really sabotage alot. I guess I have to stay cool too and not go out and try to hit a 24h week when I feel better. Going to be really hard and a test on my mental strenght.

Intervals 4min hard 3min active rest x4 has been quite popular lately. Another one I've heard alot of positive things about is 30s really hard 4.30 active rest x7. Fartlek is good too if you have a friend.
EDIT: Sorry for double posting.

It depends on the privacy settings of the person who uploaded the video to facebook, worth a try though as long as you're sure whoever uploaded them won't mind

ok eshlow or anyone else who has done manna
lately I have been waking up with MASSIVE neck soreness. I am pretty sure at least half the culprit is my pillow/way I sleep. Over the last years my shoulders have become much broader, and sleeping on my side, my neck rests down at an angle that is probably bad for it. so I need a new pillow
but lately, after working out, I have just been soooo freaking sore around my neck. especially the back of it. spreading outwards kind of to my shoulders.
when I do the manna and try to lift my hips up I do feel quite a load on my upper spine/neck/shoulders - this is normal right? it doesn't feel painful or anything so I imagined it was.
anyways is this is because I can't even do today's workout I am so sore lol. worried I will hurt my neck (it's happened before when I tried to work out like this)
should I be stretching my neck post workout? I never thought it'd be necessary but maybe i should -.-
|
Yeah, if you're going to sleep on your side you need pillow... preferably easier to sleep on back and less issues.
Yes, the whole upper back contracts for manna. If you're getting tight now cut it for a bit. Try to loosen it up with some massage and/or heating pad or some sort of soft tissue work.
Stretching PWO is always a good idea.

I got back a couple hours ago, I really fun meet. I hit 88/105. Snatch was so easy even with my shaky form, prob would of gotten 90 if i went higher. Clean and jerk didnt go as well. I missed my last attempt of 110kg, i pushed my jerk a little bit forward.
So my attempts in snatch went 80 - 85 - 88. then clean and jerk went 100 - 105 - 110x Was 5/6 which isnt so bad. I weighed under 65kg in the 69kg class. Next meet I will drop into the 62kg class. The next big american meet in the american open so i will try to qualify for that.
There were some really good lifters at the meet. One was on the Pan am team and another was a schoolage champ. I will post some videos and pics when i get some :D.
