I used the MX518 for around four years. During this past Christmas, I acquired a Razer DeathAdder to replace my MX518 (even though it was still working though worn down).
As someone with big hands of the piano finger type (long, thin fingers), I absolutely love the DeathAdder. It's even more comfortable for me than the MX518 (which I still regard as an excellent mouse) and I think some of its features (like the braided cord) make it even more attractive.
I'd strongly recommend the DeathAdder to anyone. However, considering it's size, it's best for palm and claw grip players (Razer, interestingly, has it under the "claw" category on their site).
Finally, I should note that, if you like the old standby Microsoft Intellimouse, the ergonomics of the DeathAdder are incredibly similar. It's also a nice switch for anyone used to the ergonomics of Logitech mice. (All of these mice tend to be bigger and conform to the entire hand.)

Razer Abyssus.
I find it hard to believe people can even USE the MX518. It's so big and unwieldy.

Interestingly, I find the MX518 significantly smaller and lighter than the DeathAdder but I fully appreciate the DeathAdder more overall.

People have differently sized hands, just so you know.

Logitech MX518 here...been using it for 6-8 months, so far so good.

I use the Razer Abyssus and i find it Perfect for RTS Its light, small and therefore easier to move It only has 3 buttons but that's all i really need anyways I used a Razer Salmosa before that and i like it but it was way to fragile in my opinion The abyssus is much more robust in my experience
I think the steelseries Kinzu has the same characteristics and should be real good too

I use a Logitech G700 and while it is a nice mouse, I'd still probably get a Razer mouse next.. why? Well, because they seem to support gaming in general a ton more than Logitech does and that means something to me. But for now, I'd really recommend the Logitech G700 to anyone who plays on a laptop. This mouse is amazing; wireless when you want it to be and wired like a normal mouse when you want it to be. Plus, the transmitter is the size of a chiclet and I just leave it in a USB slot all the time.

just switched to steelseries xai. feels weird. i think i'm experiencing the so-called acceleration thing. Should of stuck with my gut and went with optical. Damn lazer mices. man, razer needs to come out with an abyssus with side buttons. How come only razer makes decent optical mices nowadays.
edit: k, messed with the settings. seems a lot better now.

I just got a Logitech M505 recently, and it's pretty awesome. Light, portable, and feels soooo comfortable. I haven't tried gaming with it yet (I'll be doing that tomorrow), but the clicking and accuracy is pretty good for non-gaming use. My only gripe is that the Office Max I went to didn't have the silver colored mouse, which would have matched my laptop perfectly, but black is a nice generic color. Oh, and Logitech Unifying Receiver. Sweet.
It was $30, which is more than I wanted to spend on a mouse, but I'm actually loving the choice (considering it was a gift from my dad). Wireless doesn't bug me at all (I'm actually more used to them).

zowie EC1 or razer's salmosa
|
MX518 because I play cs 1.6 and also its a great mouse

I got a Deathadder as a gift recently and I love it.

Logitech G500 and I love it!

Steelseries Kinzu. Its small and simple and fits in my hand perfectly. I use to use a deathadder but the shape felt odd in my hand.
