my brother has this one, he bought it becaus it looks really cool and its awesome if you already have a g11 keyboard )
But thats rather the style factor ;D (non the less he pwns in cod... unlike for me, equipment dosn't play a roll in owning pc games while I can only play with the keyboard and mouse Iam used to)

Hey , I know I m a noob but why is it so important to play with a 1a mouse ? Well I played WoW where extra buttons were really nice but dont understand for what reason SC2 player would buy one :> . If someone could tell me , i would be happy :D

The reason isn't the extra buttons.
Basically: 1) DPI, the higher DPI, the more precise it can be in it's actions. 2) Weight. Many mice got a cartridge allowing you to adjust the weight, giving you more control. 3) Palm Position. It needs to fit nicely in your hand, and not have your fingers drag along the mouse pad, or give you a hard time clicking buttons.

I've been using the Razer Death Adder for a while.

I for one like to drag my thumb and pinky on the pad, gives me more precision in FPS. I know a lot of people prefer the extra stability as well. I'm using a death adder btw, or my Logitech g9.

That's not exactly how it works. DPI - CPI more correctly - is just how many times the sensor reports movement per inch, effectively just the sensitivity of the sensor. In most games a certain amount is necessary to avoid pixel skipping - e.g. in CS you don't want to turn you mouse sensitivity above ~5 in game, I think, so you need a mouse with high enough CPI that you can reach your desired sensitivity without going above 5. The number is not that high, in most games it might be around 400-500, certainly not close to the 5000 CPI advertised on some mice.
Starcraft is a little bit different, as it doesn't have a sensitivity control of its own, it just adjusts your windows sensitivity. To avoid pixel skipping, all sensitivity adjustments must be made by adjusting the CPI of the mouse with the in-game sensitivity left at 51%-54%. In this case it is quite useful to have a mouse with a wide range of CPI settings so that you can finely adjust your sensitivity without running into pixel skipping.

Logitech G5 laser, and I'm beginning to hate it. Jumps across the screen from time to time, is unresponsive, lags occasionally, it's fucking annoying. Gonna unburrow my Mx518 again... when I get home.
It's also fucking heavy.

mx518, good for the large handed gamer

Any one know where I can get a smallish gaming mouse in Australia? I'm looking for something similar to the Razer Salmosa Asian Edition size. MX518 is too big for me.

I just got a g9x. i've put as much weight as i can in it, and it's the best mouse i've used so far ( i like to claw my mouse).
if you're a palm grip person, the deathadder is the most comfortable mouse i've used.

The MX518 is probably the only mouse I'll use for a long time. Awesome weight/feel for the heavy handed, and awesome UI once you download setpoint.

I could never really understood how someone can use those ._.

Lachesis here
It's got a weird shape because it's ambidextrous, but you get used to it and then it's nice.
