Alright. I've read this entire thread. I understand that the problems I'm having are from my ISP throttling Twitch specifically.... I'm paying for 75/10mbps down/up.
HOWEVER, I've already spoken to my ISP about this general problem before ( didn't have these server numbers to back me up though), and they told me that "everything is okay" and when i pressed harder they told me that "upload speeds aren't guaranteed"..... I know that I still have a case because of the screen shots i gave. (Miami is really the only server that will be good for me) I'm getting between 6-10 up via speedtest TO MIAMI, yet I can't get a good connection to the Miami server.
Again, I know I need to talk to my ISP about this but what do i say???? They'll just brush me off or not know what i'm talking about.

My IPS is blocking the ports 80 443 23 by default. I was wondering if it could help to open them to improve the quality of the streaming ?
|
Streaming doesn't require inbound ports.

Pardon my noobyness, but is everything ok if I always get 0 in the quality column? Or that means that I shouldn't even try to stream at all?
|
Quality zero on every server either means your connection is awful, or some firewall or other 3rd party software is interfering with getting an accurate measurement.
|
I did a min long test and got this, my upload is 1mbps. Bandiwdth seems to be measured well. But Quality still is on 0. The only odd thing is the Sao Paulo server timing out the connection.
|
Those ping times to South America are very high. It's possible your wireless card is causing issues, or your ISP has very bad routing to Twitch. The bandwidth does look OK though, so the quality numbers may be a side effect of something else.

Thanks. Did some tests, and while 392p is potato quality, I can stream on it using the Argentinean server. I will check if there is anything on my firewall blocking anything the software would use.

So I was playing with streaming today for my first time got everything working and streamed old school DOOM for about 30 mins, I was gonna start a FireWatch stream but now I can't connect to a server and when I use the bandwidth test I'm failing every test plz help!

ive been having some problems with streaming, and that i will start streaming form 3000kbps and then drop down to 93 or 0. i have no idea whats going on with my stream, i would use obs and xsplit and the same thing would happen. i have over 10mbps upload. im thinking there has to be something wrong with my computer but i have no idea what. and i tried using that test it said i failed to connect to any of the severs, i didnt get anything for bandwidth, it just says failed. i have no idea where to go or what to do, if someone could please help me that would be amazing

Streaming over wireless will probably be causing that.

Should we go with the server with highest quality or lower ping? My results are really confusing. My connection tends to get 0 or very low quality from 40-65 ping servers such as Amsterdam or Frankfurt. My upload is capped to 5mbit by isp however it will go up to 10mbit during a burst. I think this causes the lower quality from those servers. However with higher pinged servers 70+ i can get a higher quality. Max i saw was 70-80 quality with my connection. I can't demand or change anything isp side. Any recommendations?
Also if quality assessment doesn't work in cases such as mine we should be able to put our max upload and get a quality value according to that speed.

I am from Germany and I feel like I'm super fucked.
I dont even know where to start. Connection during streaming doesnt fail but it varies from 900kbps to 100kbps and frame loss gets barely below 30%, more often above 60%.

I have cable internet from unitymedia with 50mbit down and 3 up but I get quite bad Quality values.
Can I do something about this or is it still ok for streaming?
|
I got 75Mbit upload and the highest I get is 2300kbps to Stockholm, what can I tell my ISP to do? Is there a specific IP I need to tell them or any tips?
|
I've used this program reliably in the past but now that I need it again it's not working. When I click the start button it just dims for a half sec and does nothing.

Didn't think I'd get that kind of a result, pretty happy with that..

I'm hoping someone has an idea with what is going on with my tests. I have done multiple tests, and never get results over 80 quality. It's like something is stopping the test at 80? Here is my results and what I have done:
1. Bypass router connecting straight to modem, same results 2. Called ISP who sent tech to house, tested all my lines, tested out at the "gray box" at the street, replaced some connections and main splitter where connection comes into the house. Tech says everything looks great. 3. Ran pingtests and traceroutes under cmd with excellent results 4. Ran twitch bandwidth test on multiple machines, same results
When I do test streams on twitch, twitch inspector says everything is "excellent", but no matter how much bandwidth I throw at the stream, I still get pixelation and blur like the stream is continuing to play catch up. I've literally done 100's of test streams at different bitrates, FPS, scaling plugins, color space and range, filters, different machines, etc. Also what I noticed recently, I can have OBS set to 3500 bandwidth, but when I watch the live stream or VOD in twitch, its playback rate is much lower than 3500, with occasional spike to low 3000's. When I watch other streams, their playback rate seems stable. (3500 is just an example, I've tried this with a range of different bitrates with same results)
Is it something simple I'm missing here?

Enable CBR in your OBS. That should be one of the automatically recommended streaming settings anyway
