Is it intentional that you cannot paste the key in to the box? Not a very user-friendly key to input in a masked box.

![]() ![]() I clicked through all of the TCP windows testing the first server, 32k+ work the same (with steadily decreasing latency as it gets lower) but there's a huge drop off in bandwidth going below 32k. 32k ~6050kbit 16k ~4800kbit 8k ~3300kbit (this seems to be what OBS default uses) ![]() ![]() other servers suffer more than the best ones If this is a simple fix, it would be awesome. With 32k TCP window, i have pretty much all of my bandwidth and it's -extremely- stable (like 6040 - 6070 with no variance outside of that for the whole testing period) whereas right now i'm sometimes dancing around between 3500 and 2500 trying not to drop frames.

Here is my first score (automatic): And my second score, at 32k is slightly higher (I'm edging my true upload score now in London (makes sense, I'm from Ireland). And my 128k score, I'm consistently hitting my true upload score (most likely anyways, it doesn't actually record the exact score after 10k). And now my 256k score, same again. Any clue as to what might be going on with the automatic setting? It gives me by far the worst results. Imgur links aren't loading properly on this page, I don't know why, but you can right click them and they'll open fine in a new tab.

OBS itself seems to work fine now, just put on 5500Kbit to twitch stockholm server. Not sure if i changed that behavior by messing with windows settings though. I didn't do anything that positively affected the results in the bandwidth tester or manually set a tcp window size for OBS yet 15:14:22: SO_SNDBUF was at 8192 15:14:22: SO_SNDBUF is now 65536 ^at the start of log, so that's probably good

When I set the TCP to automatic my scores are all over the place, however they increase hugely when I manually set it. Automatic asks Windows to suggest a TCP window, it's possible due to the short test duration Windows doesn't have enough data to recommend one. I did notice a bug where automatic mode starts at system default instead of 64k (like OBS) which may affect the results.

im actually curious, because you stated that a proper connection would start at 80+ quality to stream so i tested different TCP Settings multiple times and uploaded the best. 8k http://i.imgur.com/shdhzdF.png 16k http://i.imgur.com/Sm8VDEM.png 32k http://i.imgur.com/LnUbEIp.png 64k http://i.imgur.com/dzrZDV3.png automatic (obs) http://i.imgur.com/I7muuCU.png so going your statement the 16k would be the absolut best for me now i wonder what and where do i have to change stuff to get those "16k"

I need help to improve my connection to twitch. I get random results due to my isp. Sometimes i need to restart stream a couple of times to get a stable connection. Lately i have been having random disconnects too. Currently talking to my isp to fix things but they are like you get the speed we advertise so everything is okay. Is there anything i can do on my side to improve things or tell them what they should do to fix this? I am using ethernet with cat6 cables. I have been using the lowest ping connection but your tool says they are not the best quality options. Here is a screenshot of a test i did. ![]() ![]()

Now the main thing is that i'd like to stream from a dormitory. It has it's own network system with a big proxy on it guarding the whole network, so when we want to play games like wow or Dota2, we need to ask for the ports in which the game would like to communicate. I've googled a lot and still did not find ANYTHING about port forwarding or behind proxy for obs or twitch. Still it seems is would need one, because you don't know why would your program say failed with the correct key(the reasonable answer is because the proxy doesnt allow communication between the 2. Why do i post this here? You are a programmer with some (or more) network knowledge, could you help me with which port OBS and Twitch tries to communicate, so i can ask for those ports? Would be life-saving man, thanks a lot in advance.

Following the mentioned issue of recurring reconnections by OBS, I tried your tool to check for a better server. The software is really nice btw. I'm getting a 0 Quality for every option, do you know what could be the cause of this ? I was streaming fine until 2 days ago and then bam ! I couldn't post my screenshot since I'm new. Thank you, Zenibuka

Specifically I am getting EXTREMELY high RTT times reported by TwitchTest. The older JTVPing tool shows much much lower latencies. I am not a networking expert but I feel like if the latencies reported by TwitchTest were accurate I would probably not be able to stream at all. My TwitchTest results: ![]() My JTVPing results: ![]() For those screenshots I ran the two tests immediately one after the other. I have run each test several times and they are always in the same ballpark, ie TwitchTest latency results are always at least 20x higher. Here is the VOD of the final test I ran, where I believe everything is fine now after switching from nvenc back to x264: http://www.twitch.tv/zeezdrdevice/v/12410040 . This vod was on the same computer and connection that I used for TwitchTest & JTVPing. I'm including it to show that from this connection and configuration I really can successfully stream and get good results. Aside, I don't think it's especially relevant but if anyone wants to see the framerate drops I got with nvenc that went away with x264, they are seen in this VOD for example at 1:38-1:40 http://www.twitch.tv/zeezdrdevice/v/12136693

200 is a very high ping to have to a streaming server (i have ~20 in europe, ~150 across continents) but if it's stable (~1-25ms jitter, 0% packet loss) then it's usually fine. If you're dropping packets, that's not good

Getting a flat 72 'rating' across all servers within 4300 +/- 3 kbps of each other all with normal pings. Mainly just curious about your formula because seems like it only goes by bandwidth unless there are any drops. Regardless, very nice program.

So the main problem with my stream is that it buffers a LOT, making it unwachable. So using the program what I see is that the bandwith and RTT are both always good and stable but the longer the test duration I use the less "Quality" I get. So basically if I use a 10 sec duration test I get quality results around 60-70 on all EU servers but if I set the test duration at 60 sec I get most of them down to 0 quality. So if I can ask you guys or R1CH, if I call my ISP what should I ask them/tell them in order to fix the problem?

Current setup is a i7 4790k w/ 16gb ram and a GTX 960. If I go TCP Auto I get 0 quality across the board on NA servers. 16k-32k seem to be where I land the best quality. My question is how do I Transfer that same quality over to OBS now? I tried following a Youtube videos exact specs but my stream lags and my computer gets pretty choppy with the stream and game running at the same time.

I installed and reinstalled Visual C++ but the exe refuses to run and a pop up window says I have the vcruntime140.dll missing. I have perfomed a search and the file is in windows/system folder. I have issues and a lot of the time slideshow occurs when I stream...audio continues but the stream freezes/slideshows. Been searching for a cause and this may have found one. Question is... why? I have great internet, but often times in Overwatch the 2 icons appear showing packet loss/internet issues (although I very, very rarely experience any in-game lag). ![]() ![]() What does this mean exactly since the quality is so low?

At first, running TwitchTest produced a string of 'failure' notices, but I generated a new key, which resulted in the '0' quality test attached. I have since tried it back at home with the same results. DNS flushes and resets to open DNS servers had no effect. Any suggestions? ![]() ![]()

Edit, sorry I should clarify that I've tried different TCP Window Size settings, and there's little variation, quality goes from anywhere from 76-80 (unless I use crazy window sizes like 8k), but I've never seen any over 80

![]() ![]() HOWEVER, I've already spoken to my ISP about this general problem before ( didn't have these server numbers to back me up though), and they told me that "everything is okay" and when i pressed harder they told me that "upload speeds aren't guaranteed"..... I know that I still have a case because of the screen shots i gave. (Miami is really the only server that will be good for me) I'm getting between 6-10 up via speedtest TO MIAMI, yet I can't get a good connection to the Miami server. Again, I know I need to talk to my ISP about this but what do i say???? They'll just brush me off or not know what i'm talking about.

Also if quality assessment doesn't work in cases such as mine we should be able to put our max upload and get a quality value according to that speed.

1. Bypass router connecting straight to modem, same results 2. Called ISP who sent tech to house, tested all my lines, tested out at the "gray box" at the street, replaced some connections and main splitter where connection comes into the house. Tech says everything looks great. 3. Ran pingtests and traceroutes under cmd with excellent results 4. Ran twitch bandwidth test on multiple machines, same results When I do test streams on twitch, twitch inspector says everything is "excellent", but no matter how much bandwidth I throw at the stream, I still get pixelation and blur like the stream is continuing to play catch up. I've literally done 100's of test streams at different bitrates, FPS, scaling plugins, color space and range, filters, different machines, etc. Also what I noticed recently, I can have OBS set to 3500 bandwidth, but when I watch the live stream or VOD in twitch, its playback rate is much lower than 3500, with occasional spike to low 3000's. When I watch other streams, their playback rate seems stable. (3500 is just an example, I've tried this with a range of different bitrates with same results) Is it something simple I'm missing here? ![]()

But I have noticed this happening in other streams as well. I think I started noticing this when Twitch increased the bitrate limit recently to 6000, so maybe it's just a playback issue idk. Thanks though!

I'm trying to setup my system for some streaming. So I downloaded this app to find out what best twitch server to use. After running the program, i get a RTT result but the Bandwidth for all servers just result to "Failed." Is there something that I should adjust to the settings? Or given my result, streaming is already impossible. Thanks! Carlos

![]() So my bandwidth is good enough to stream the content I want, however the quality is lower than the recommended 80. I've also noticed on multiple (and random) occasions that the bandwidth will suddenly drop from 2000+ down to 600 and stays there for a little bit, then goes back to normal. If someone else on the connection is downloading/uploading something, would this affect it? Or is there something else that I should be worried about?

Here's a test at 10 seconds. Some nights of streaming I get maybe 1% dropped frames while other nights are bad and I get 10% and a few disconnects. This is using the auto setting in OBS. I live in central Illinois but the Chicago server always has the worst quality for some reason but the best speed and ping. ![]() ![]() EDIT: I changed servers to Dallas and set bind to IP and advanced networking options in OBS and the stream was nearly flawless today. 0.0% drop. 59 frames in a 3 hour stream. I guess Chicago server is just a bad server to stream to even though it is way closer than the others.

Holy fuck, I've been trying to find a solution to my problem for the past few weeks since I've been streaming and encountering this issue on many occasions throughout my streams. The problem with me was that my router is actually a router/modem combo (Motorola SBG6782-AC). A 2 in 1 type of scenario. I didn't know this until now because apparently those types of router/modem/Wi-Fi combo units are always a problem. In order to fix it, I had to put the router/modem (or whatever you want to call it) in "bridge" mode, and here are my results: ![]() Never mind, I misunderstood what bridging does. I've been getting random DCs from the router so that wasn't ideal. I'll be hooking up the router/modem combo to a main router and then bridge, and then see what happens.

I Stream for years at twitch via OBS and all was fine. But since weeks i have got a lot of frame drops, so the viewers can hear the sound clearly and fine, but the Video is freezing for the "Frame-Drop-Time" (1-2 Seconds). This happens 1 times in 10 seconds i guess. The funny thing is, sometimes it works fine! (rare moments..) So this is what i've done allready to solve the problem: Contact ISP (Changed Router twice) - they said all is ok (Upload is fine) - btw. i have 5 mb upload. I tryed another PC with other wires - same problem, obs has still framedrops I installed all new drivers and OBS has all accesses by Antivirus Kasperky This is an actual Log of my OBS-Settings: https://gist.github.com/8cd65979c88d08e558d42a65423bacfd Speedttests showing, that my upload is stable and at 4-5 MB/s Twitchtest SHows a QUality of 0 everywhere but well, i will get some pics in here... Twitchinspector Screen: picload.org Twitchtest Screen: picload.org Speedtestscreen: picload.org Please help. Thank you very much, for Questions or Solutions answer here or add me at steam (twitchtv|Streat) with kind regards Streat edit 14.11.2017: recorded a video with live speedtests and the live obs-data -> thats the exactly problem! :

![]() And yet my macbook (with windows vmware) gets worse results but still manages to get better quality? And of course a 100 quality from my closest server. ![]() Is this because my desktop has a wider ranger of upload instability? Aka... with more speed, there's more variance, and thus shows worse quality? I'm already calling my ISP to discuss my poor upload stability, but this seemed like my only explanation. Is there something I can investigate on my desktop's end to see if something is causing this issue? I don't think it's hardware related, but I could be wrong. I've literally tried every single thing in the book when reading about OBS and how to improve quality/dropped frames, but am at a loss. Especially considering I have streamed 6+ hour sessions early in the year without a hitch.

all my servers are Failed with pings ranging from rounghly 40-200ms+ sitting around groups of 50's, 180's, 200's and 200+'s. quality isn't getting checked 'cause they're all failing. stream key is correct though i am adding in the --disable-data-upload part to opt out of the data sharing. i have the TCP window size set to automatic(OBS), though i also tried it at 64k both on Short(10s) trials in all regions. made sure my stream key was up to date. my stream runs fine for the most part, but i'm new at this so there's a lot of kinks to work out. i've had a lot of streams cut short by internet outages, or otherwise just throttled to hell it would seem, but my internet speed tests always report back to me saying i have 170+mb/s download and 17mb/s upload with around 8 ping. 0% packet loss. all of that said, that's all the information i think would be any help, if there's anything more i can add to this please let me know, if there's even anything anyone can do to help me here to begin with. edit: reset my stream key, and it seems to work now, but using my old stream key should have still worked unless the key has to do with routing my data?

But today i tested this with my phone and i can get 18 mbit upload from my phone(connected wifi and from frankfurt servers which i use for streaming normally) and this show i can get that upload speed from my internet. From calling my ISP to getting them over to switching modems/routers. Nothing worked and they keep saying my Internet connection is more then perfect. But, streaming to Twitch is just impossible. Any one know how this can get fixed? Do i really need to keep pushing my ISP to fix it? or could it be on my end? Thanks in advance! ![]() ![]()
