https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/NLwrV7 Notes: I'm assuming 300euro for the 1660 super - could be more or less. The tomahawk max motherboard is compatible with Ryzen 3000 out of the box. Your monitor is a 2560x1440 at 24" which is tiny. You're likely better off getting either a 1920x1080 144hz 24" or upgrading to a 2560x1440 @27" Case is always personal preference You'll have to find some of the parts at your preferred retailer since pcpartpicker couldn't find them If you want to play at 144hz @2560x1440, you might want to consider upgrading to a AMD 5700 level card depending on the games you play. LoL will be fine with whatever GPU you toss in it, since it'll get 200+ FPS with any of them.

https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/KfWZf9 A dumb question: the case seems to be doing air flow quite well.. will I need extra heat drainage from the start? I think I can add that in later, right? Thanks for the help everyone gave me so far.

EDIT: I'd probably change the 1TB SSD to 500GB and grab a 2 TB HDD. I only run programs from my SSD (admittedly huge file sizes) and store everything on the HDD. Works like a charm. Also for a monitor, consider this: Sceptre E255B-1658A 24.5" 1920x1080 165 Hz Monitor I have it and while the speakers are fucking awful, if you headphones or externals, it doesn't really matter. But the color and size are amazing.

The X570 board doesn't do much (or anything really) since nothing you're buying needs the PCI-E 4.0 X570 lives for one more generation, so unless you plan to upgrade next year, you're probably better off buying a B450 board that's BIOS updated and saving $100-$150 (MSI motherboards with MAX are updated for ryzen 3000 such as one from this list: https://www.alternate.be/html/search.html?query=msi max&x=0&y=0 ) For cooling, the CPU comes with a stock cooler, and the case comes with 2 fans next to the CPU socket. It'll be fine at stock unless you want something quieter. For components the only place to save a few bucks is the PSU Corsair TX550M - Retails for 80 euros at alternate.be (Still 80+ gold, 7 year warranty, down from 10 with the seasonic) And as ^ said, if you want to get more storage, the cheapest solution is to grab a smaller SSD for your most used stuff, and a large HDD to toss big files on. Monitors are a game of compromises. Pick a size, resolution and then you have to pick from a list of features: 1. Refresh rate - for gaming at least 120hz 2. Panel technology - determines a lot of other attributes 3. Color accuracy, viewing angles, color gamut (displayable colors). TN is the worst at this 4. g2g/pixel response times (how fast colors change) TN wins 5. price - TN is cheapest, any other technology goes up from there If you watch a lot of media on your computer, it might be better to compromise and get a VA panel since the blacks are massively better

Now I get to learn about how to actually build it and making it all work lol. I actually already have 1T of data so with the extra Terrabyte I won't be filling up any time soon imo. If I really need extra space in the future, I'll be a HDD. Thanks for all the help so far!

Everything inside a computer fits together in 1 way, except front panel headers which come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so you're exceptionally unlikely to ever screw anything up. Have fun and enjoy the system

My question is, which OS would be better for steam gaming? Do all games on steam work for linux? Would you recommend one or the other based on your experience?

Like a lot of people, I've used Windows all my life but I am looking for something cheaper and more secure then windows 10. I also heard linux is easier to install also, which is good for me because I'm not experienced in installing this stuff. (Though I'm sure I could install either, it's probably not rocket science. Lol) My question is, which OS would be better for steam gaming? Do all games on steam work for linux? Would you recommend one or the other based on your experience? Just use Windows if you want it to just work. If you have a key for 10, 8 or 7, it'll work. You can also find keys for cheap everywhere on the internet. Yeah it costs more than free, but it also pretty much guarantees a hassle free experience. Most of the consumer Linux flavours are pretty good nowadays, even when it comes to drivers, game support etc, but you're still making sacrifices in comparison to Windows.

My mobo (B450 gaming plus max) should support my cpu, so I have no clue what the issue might be.. I'm fairly certain I put everything in correctly, going to be quite the ride trying to figure out what the problem is. Sigh. Make sure your monitor is plugged into your GPU, not the motherboard, since there's no onboard video for ryzen 3000 Plug in only one of the RAM sticks in the slots (sometimes works if one of the sticks is bad) - Manual says use DIMM2A slot http://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7B86v1.2-GSE-LITE.pdf Given that fans turn on, and the GPU lights up, if that doesn't work you'll probably need to find a speaker to plug into the buzzer/speaker slots (JFP1, JFP2: Front Panel Connectors) to see exactly where the problem is. Hopefully that helps.

I've put both my RAM sticks in the red slots (DIMM2A and DIMM2B), but I'm not sure if I should just leave it at one for now (have only booted up with one for now, will boot up with 2 if I figure out if that's fine to do). Thanks, again!

I feel like a massive idiot for not putting it in the gpu slot, thought the black slips were just to decorative, like a relic from other models or something lol. Thanks, again! Cheers, everyone gets to learn something once https://xkcd.com/1053/ Both red slots is good. If you're running with one stick now, just shutdown, toss in the other and start it back up when you have a chance. It doesn't actually hurt performance much to have a single stick in most workflows, but having dual channel is ideal.
